Isnt it worth the 20 plus hour drive for 4 to 5 cases of beer?, im sure Joey and Paul would supply the fuel for the chainsaw, and maybe even the skid steer

Thats awesome work Blaque, kinda makes ya want to go outside and fire off a few rounds from a 300 win mag, with a bottle of whisky by your side. Heavy music thats for sure, do you think you could come up with the music for Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine off of there Wish you were here album?

Was going to go to Cameron as well, but the rain scared the wife, and i wasnt lookin forward to tentin in the rain, and the take down of wet camping equipment, hope there is a good crowd just the same and the kids have fun, as thats what the MCI family outing is about, getting families fishing, and the kids having fun.

We will see how this one works out, but in my honest opinion, you cant beat perfection like the Calcutta TE, I will wait until some muskie guys put it to the test, and see what they say before i drop 400.00 on 1 or 2, From the web the pic looks OK, just not use to seeing the drag where it is now located.

That was my uncle, one day hes straight the next day hes gay, so he wanted the best of both worlds, dont bend over on the river if hes on his pink day or you might get a surpise, newbies in neoprenes are his favorite

For the guys who fish muskies pike salmon, carp or any fish capable of screaming drag, having a big easily accessible metal star drag at ones fingertips is a must, and the pics of that reel showing the drag placement will be a major concern for anglers who fish any or all of the above.

As I had previously reported about hearing of the demise of the Calcutta TE, the rumour was put to truth when a friend of mine went to order 2 new ones, only to be told by the rep that they are no longer available and is been replaced by the Calcutta D, which can be googled, and shows that the big metal star drag has been removed, and the small cap which use to be the grey plastic cap to cover the nut that holds the handle on is now the new plastic drag.

Drifter is absolutely right about the 2 relays, I had the same thing happen as you, and it will certainly be on of the 2 relays

Very good topic, and never really thought of it till you brought it up, im that way as well, usually enjoying the time fishing alone with nature, thats when i feel at my best, whether its walking a creek, or fishing in a boat, i even fish alot at night and through the night to avoid the boating crowds during the summer days, fishing is usually better as the water has had a chance to cool, and the fish a chance to settle from the incresed boat traffic during the day.

Congrats to all, and a little sister to keep those boys in line

Hope you and Diane have a great time, im sure she will be happy to be your net gal, and might even show you a thing or 2 about catchin skis as well, i might get out to that lake where you had your trailer on for the first time this year to hopefully catch a muskie or 2 on the fly.

When they seen you coming into Gagnons Lews, they ran and lowered the price 60.00 to have such charm and grace honour their store, actually you got a steal, or the price might have been wrong, the legends from the 8 ft top n tail to the 9ft big nasties are 320.00 to 360.00 at Rollie and Helen's US prices.

Yes thanx for posting Roy on Marcs release, and Marc for your lifetime of knowlege pursueing these great fish which your willing to share with us all on OFC, so that the survival of this top predator is of uptmost importance. This week I caught a mid 40 inch Musky, with only 2 hook points in the fish, i cut the hook with the knipex, with the fish solely in the water, and never took the fish out of the water, as i was by myself and prefer in the water shots of release shots anyways, anticipating an easy release, as the hook was out in probably 5 seconds, and the fight was short as i was concentrating on them with proper musky equipment, the fish did fool me, as it showed no signs of stress ie red flanks and fins etc. I spent 1 hour and 20 minutes with this fish hanging over the gunnels of my boat that time to ensure its safe release, the water temp was 76 degrees in this case, at that point as my body was sore from bouncing up and down on the gunnels, i did not pursue muskies the rest of the week, the fish will tell you when there ready to go, you dont tell them, you will loose some fishing time, but seeing this great fish swim away is a reward like nothin else.

Scugog has some great muskies that can also support some girth as well, as Lew said 50s are in most or all of the Kawartha's with persistance, but we have numbers to keep us from falling asleep as well, the best of both worlds IMO. I heard Lew even caught a 50 incher in the storm water retention pond in Lakefield

Now thats a real man's truck, MOPAR all the way

Come on Matt, your holding out on us, that little post on the Rideau with Lakers, was just to steer the musky gods away from the Ottawa wasnt it

The seasonal pond weed has died off, which is usually the 11 to 12 foot weed lines you mentioned, most of the weedlines are now prevalent in the 8 to 9 foot range, with some showing emerging weeds in the deeper water just off bottom, there is lots off weed mat, that you mentioned, off the Indian and Bewdeley and some other areas, but heavy weights to penetrate the slop, and just drifting over and pitchin the holes should produce both largemouth and some walleyes as well, although this past weekend, some walleyes have shifted to deeper secondary breaks with the 78 degree water temps. Rice is still an amazing lake, and probably still produces more fish then most other lakes, its hard to fish a lake like you mentioned 8 years ago and get a bunch of fish, and come back years later expecting to do the same, as you mentioned there have been environmental changes, ie increased weed growth etc.
