  1. You are a half hour from Port Hope, and some of the tribs flowing into Lake Ontario, which will provide you with the same species as in the Soo. There is also 6 dams on the river road, from Trent University to Lakefield on the Otonabee River that hold the usual warm water species ie walleye, bass, musky, and panfish carp etc. plus there is a dam at the Zoo, as well which all dams hold oxygenated water, and usually deeper holes below them, check them out access can sometimes be difficult as fences have been put up on some to prevent drownings on Hydro properties, there is lots of cold water streams for resident trout, but you will have to search them out on your own, which is half the fun anyways. There is no shortage of fishing spots from shore in this area.
  2. Thats looks cold, but those walleyes sure look hot, thanx for makin me realize why im living in southern Ont.
  3. I did buy some their and they were not very consistent in the cut, not in the centre, making most of them close to the edge more, and therefore falling off easily, bout 3 packs and they were all the same, might have been a QA problem, or a bad lot, but im sticking to Water Gremlins, and allowing them to tarnish as always to remove the shininess from them.
  4. X2 on that one MF
  5. Just picked up my Tecota 600 LC, 33.90 was the total bill including taxes, for replacing the pawl gear, drag washers, and a good cleaning, you cant go wrong with that, service beyond the sale. thanx shimano
  6. I took out what im assuming is the pawl gear trolling the Larry on my Tecota 600LC, and maybe a few other issues, took it down to be looked at and fixed, and im sure it will come back like new, the product is only as good as the service, and the service is 2nd to none, and it helps that the service and warranty dept are in town.
  7. Nice shootin for you and Keith, Ronnie, very impressive, thats the place it could happen though, talk about prime feeding windows, with big fat spotties,
  8. Yep thats you Lew, I can tell that smile anywhere
  9. Action shots of Flyfishing make great photo's, especially with the tempting lookin river in front of you.
  10. You might want to take a look at the Tibor reels as well, which will be pricey, but well worth putting on Speils creation, which by the way looks great, also the Amunsden Wind Warrier is also bullet proof as well, and a little bit easier on the pocket book, and a joy to fish as well as the Tibor's
  11. Awesome trip for you and Bill, I can see what you said about the river volume and big Ass Brookies playing havoc on the 5 and 6wts, man they are one beautiful fish
  12. See Stoty all it takes is the mention of beer, and then there ears start to perk up.
  13. I hope Dale does catch another big musky, and keeps it cause you would look good with 60 inches of esox hanging out your
  14. Looks like everyone wants to fish Stoty, and leave the work for someone else, you said work on the side, i think if you offered beer you might have better results
  15. Love the colour, Take it to Balsam, and she will have teeth marks in 10 minutes
  16. During late fall, many big muskies have been caught by die hard musky anglers during the dusk period, when theres been relatively little activity thruout the day, this is especially true on the big great lakes fish, and the tributaries that flow into it. Saftey is of upmost concern, and as Roy mentioned a 2 man job, especially on big water
  17. Nottawasaga has better skein then Port Hope,
  18. That glow in the dark Fireplug, and the chrome Fireplug are right behind the Heddon Tadpully, didnt see any Ping a T's though, maybe there in the next batch

  20. And yet another satisfied Spiel customer, Pike beware now, the man is armed and dangerous
  21. Bush will paint you a picture of what hes saying, and you will understand
  22. That release shot on the musky is postcard worthy, and a beautiful marked fish, and you dont look to bad yourself Roy
