Hope its not like your tongue when you bite it, you usually bite it again and again, i dont think you want to keep banging that pinky toe over and over, even with the pretty toe nail polish it still looks pretty damn sore, id be putting on a pair of steel toed boots, and keep them on until that thing heals, between copious amounts of Black Zamubuka, or Dark Rum of course

Nice looking spoons Mike, Jack and Mary are very passionate about the pursuit of big Gators, all over North America, and abroad

Im targeting walleye with #8 Shad Raps, but the muskies love them almost as much, and havnt lost a Rap yet with 10 pound braid and 8 pound floro leader, but i probably just jinxed myself

A great week of fishing for sure, with some good size muskies, most reports ive heard of L Lakes muskies with consistency have been smallish fish, with the odd single big fish in the mix. 20 to 21 inch buckets are pushin at least 4 or over, and some very quality walleyes to boot.

Made in 1932, price at most antique shows values the reel at 20 to 30 US, quite popular in its day, and many were made, so they are quite common at shows, that is for the Pfleuger 1963

Scrougin Walleyes was definately the norm, i was out early to avoid most of the heat, fish in the dark for almost 2 hours, throwing #8 Shad Raps which accounted for 5 fish before dawn, and then slowed to bucktails pitcin the weed clumps for another 2 hours which resulted in 3 more eyes, had one strike and 2 follows fishing flies for muskies as well, but the follows were lazy, and interest was low. Much slower then last week or the previous weeks, also fish contour lines with Bouncers and Gulp leeches before it breaks into the basin figuring the eyes have moved closer to summer haunts, but that did not produce at all. Water temps was 73 degrees at 3:30am, and 74.9 when i left at 11:00am, up 4 degrees from last weekend

Also when you get home, DO NOT bring suitcases and clothing into the house, leave outside, or in the garage, and immediately place in sealed garbage bags, and go to the laundry mat to clean, if doing laundry at home, leave in garbage bags, and bring in sealed bags and empty directly into the washer with no sitting time on the floor, also high heat for 20 minutes will kill all stages of Bedbugs as well.

Been in the Pest Control Industry for over 30 years, and with the Bedbug explosion thats currently taking place, and many of us planning summer holidays, a winter get away etc, i thought i would take a few lines to inform the members on what to look for, and how to minimize the risk of carrying these hitch hikers back home with you, and saving you thousands of dollars in discarded furniture and extermination fees etc. A little pre-planning and home work will give you peace of mind, and make the trip more enjoyable Step 1 When selecting a hotel, motel, resort etc, check the guest review section on the locations website, there you will find if theres been any issues with Bedbugs, from there the management can respond to the guest complaints regarding Bedbugs, ie what they have done to prevent, etc, but they do not have the ability to remove those complaints regarding Bedbugs. Step 2 Always pack a flashlight to inspect the room before acceptance, and before unpacking if you must Step 3 Bedbugs feed on blood, and live on or within the bed, and usually within 5 feet on either side of the bed, which would encorporate the 2 end tables Step 4 First with a fully charge flashlight, remove the headboard from the wall, which is usually attached by 2 to 3 screws into the wall, the headboard usually sits on a 1in by 2in slotted ledge as well. the headboard in most cases never gets removed, and is a favoured hiding place, for its security. Next remove the matress, and boxspring from the bed frame, and remove the sheets, look at the seems of the mattress all the way around the perimeter, and pay special attention to each of the 4 corners. Next another favored spot the boxspring, check the same way as the mattress, but also inspect the 4 plastic corner covers, by pulling the corner covers out to see behind, on both the mattress, and boxspring also inspect the carrying straps found on the sides as well, also check breathing or vent holes as well. Next check the frame, and all parts of the frame, including the wheels, the posts that join the wheels to the frame, where the frame rails over lap each other, and also the holes in the frame for adjustment, and around the nuts and bolts. If every thing looks clear, visually check both end tables on each side of the bed, check the back, and the back cover, as thats usually up against the wall, and remains relatively dormant with little movement, Next check and open all drawers, inspect all upper corners, and also drawer slider rails, and also inspect all cracks and crevices of the end tables, and any screws as will checking the head where the screw driver would go, as bedbugs can commonly be found in that small #2 Robertson head if its made in Canada of course. What to look for obviously live insects indicate active present activity also Bedbugs molt or shed their skin 5 times in there life before reaching adult hood, look for casted skins, also fecal marks or smears, which would look or resemble pepper grains, but unlike pepper grains which would be singular and loose, Bedbug fecal matter would be somewhat sticky and smear when rubbed or touched. Also because Bedbugs feed on blood, blood smears on bedding would be another thing to look out for, but not something you wkill find as the Bedding would be changes before new guest arrive. Personally i never really unpack, but work from a suitcase or night bag, get what i need then immediately zipper up, until something else is needed, hopefully this was informative

Lake Scugog Stewards goal is to ban winter fishing in Scugog
esoxansteel replied to Entropy's topic in General Discussion
This year many of the K Lakes have had very good walleye fishing, other then the traditional Rice and Sturgeon, goods numbers of varying year classes have come out of all of the Tri Lakes as well, Cameron also sports a healthy population, my theory and it may not be the right one is, Black Crappie in most of the K Lakes except Scugog, have came and peaked, and have returned to normal populations to co-exist with the other fish species, Black Crappie are most likely still increasing in population or are near the peak in Scugog, which should soon see a decline to acceptable numbers, maybe at that point Scugog will somewhat rebound as it appears other lakes have. Not to say Crappie were and are responsible 100% for the walleye decline in the K Lakes, but the numbers certainly did drop when they took hold, other factors certainly are environmental impact, and fluctuating water levels, with Scugogs makeup it should be a walleye factory. By closing the winter Walleye fishery, or the summer fishery which has also been discussed, it will not bring the numbers back as fast as one would expect, and it will not bring numbers back to the glory days as well, and thats why no decision has been made on Scugog, and why its still very much in discussion at present. -

Between all the locked threads, theres still alot of love here -
I charge after each trip, deep cycles are made for charging, that way you always have a full charge when you go out,

I was out on Rice, and jiggin on my knees on the front deck a week ago, with the west wind and 3 1/2 footers for 2 days straight, knee pads came in handy, big chop for sure, follow Brian on the creeks

I phone Shimano, and ask the Reel repair guy which parts are most common to wear out, by his experience, and stock up, ie my Stellas and a few of the Susains, and Stradics, have a rubber friction ring that basically looses its shape over time, under the rotor, i have a few extras of these
-
Get all the parts you can find or you will have a very expensive paper weight, as Shimano only continues making parts for 5 years after been discontinued, that way they force the consumer to supposedly upgrade all the time because they felt like changing the last 2 letters on a reel, ie TE, FE, FB, FA, DC etc etc etc

Launching the new boat Saturday need advice.
esoxansteel replied to Shloim's topic in General Discussion
Watched 2 guys in a new Mer Benz SUV, launch a brand new Lund Baron, with an e z loader trailer with rollers, they apparnetly unhooked the winch strap from the trailer and backed down the launch at the Dutch Marine on Chemong lake, and the new lund rolled back off the rollers, and slid down the ashpault ramp eventially ending up in the water, with some major damage to the hull bottom, practice before you get to the ramp -
Likely where the pin goes into the receiver, i took a cheaper model back, and got a Reese, and it still does what you describe, bit of play between the pin and the hole
