  1. I've only had them dipped in butter... and the the butter was DELICIOUS haha. This time I think I'll bake it the same way I bake my walleye, that way I can actually compare the flavor. Thanks! If that is ever the case, I'll be glad to show you around Nipissing and some other nearby lakes If it's slippery out there I think Mike will have an entry in Vinnies "funny photo" contest. Good luck out there. I'm sure Mike will keep you safe AND put you on some fish.
  2. Hey Team, After four Skunky skunks in a row (minus a few tiny perch), it was time I hit my "hot spot" on Nipissing for a little redemption fishing. I finally got up the nerve to drive further on the lake and invited a few of my fishing regulars. Joey (Tiger!) was in, until I cancelled on him, when I un-cancelled, he had made other plans so I invited my uncle and he was immediatly willing to join. A few pressure cracks made our journey a little squirly, but we found some tracks and reached my spot at around 4pm. The bite started at 430, with a perch/walleye/ling mix. In total we finished with 4 walleye (missed at least 3), 25 perch and two pig Ling. My action "Jaxon" spoon did most of the damage for me, while my uncle used a jig and minnow combo. The best part of the day was having an 6 or 7lbs ling completely SMASH my Jaxon spoon. What a rush after a dry spell. The required sink shot what a cutie! I hope this signals an upswing in my winter fishing!
  3. I'd love to get into the whitefish/laker tandem you Simcoe guys are used to! They look so darn tasty
  4. Anybody would be a happy with a couple of those!! Great pics.
  5. Some guy near Widdifield Station road in North Bay said he saw one in his dogs pen, it was playing with a cougar.... Just kidding I've actually never heard of any sightings around here. My guess is that most sightings are mistaken with fishers
  6. Right on Nick! But was it as comfortable as Blair's shack?
  7. Desert storm walleye! Good stuff Mike. Definitly a good piece of information for the MNR.
  8. Great read! Thanks for sharing it. Those nervous minutes before catching the first fish are like running through a gauntlet. You have no idea what to expect. I forget who told me this, some wise fella I'm sure, but he said : the hardest fish to catch is the first fish.
  9. Dana lake seems like a good whitie candidate. Deep and cold with lakers in it.
  10. I drove on the ice today.. it's safe in most places, but still, be cautious. We don't have the amount of ice we typically get. Approx 18 inches right now. Rip jigging a 3 or 4 inch spoon or jiggin rap should get you some walleye... maybe try a 6inch lively chub as well for the big girls.
  11. Nice Whities! I'm guessing they will be flavored, garnished and accompanied in very short order. Enjoy.
  12. Out of the Blue.. I mean Bring Some Buds! Very cool stuff. Definitly put a grin on my mug.
  13. That's awesome! I'd love to have something like that on a bookshelf. Good work Dave!
  14. X2. I'm hope Sunday will sate my hunger for perch.
  15. Haha Classic! I am also looking forward to seeing how this pans out.
  16. Good call! Family is gonna eat well for the rest of the winter. I wish I wasn't working yesterday I would have gladly joined you. Maybe this weekend?
  17. Yup, and I've been to all three! Love this place. I don't have my passport and I have no intention of applying for it
  18. I hear you! Even a flight to Toronto then Thunder Bay gets me all cranky. There's nothing like the quiet, open and uncontaminated outdoors.
  19. Massive walleye! If you don't mind saying, what do u mean by cadence?
  20. haha 6 more weeks of intensive care
  21. Yup, but they now how their OWN ministry sign! I guess the MTO guys liked their free meals.haha
