  1. Same. TD tried to charge me 120 to close my TFSA when I used the money for a house down payment. I called them, flipped, told them to leave one cent in the account and not to close it and that I want monthly paper statments.haha. Next thing I know, they call me, GIVE me 100 and offer me 3 free trades! Happy customer ever since.
  2. 2.5 hrs north of barrie? hey, I'm already there! I know a few goods ones if your looking around zone 11. I just need a yoke on my Sportspal and I'm good to go
  3. So early that it started last fall. Brutal excuse for a winter this year. Them pine beetles are gonna have a great year.
  4. To clarify for those who haven't read everything here: Mike is staring a guiding business... He has to fish to guide/learn the waters. Also, he said he "repo'ed" the rod. Deadbeat buddy never even paid for it in the first place. Its your rod Mike, he never paid a cent for it.
  5. No pity for those who piss away money then try to eke out freebies from friends. I probably wouldn't have sold his gear; that's a bold move on your part and kind of makes me laugh. Good on you for having a spine. Be prepared to lose a friend though..some people, especially the selfish ones can't handle back-lash. I had a buddy sit on my new ice rod last year and break it. This guy makes tonnes of cash and spends on the stupidest things, and I was down $30 due to his drunkedness. He completely ignored my request for pay back until one day in public I said "you shouldn't be sitting on other guy's rods". He paid me that night.
  6. Ok, I can't find that restaurant name in Gravenhurst, but it's located at the old "gravenhurst bar & Grill", right beside the Howard Johnson on Muskoka Rd. Definitly worth a stop, and it's not ridiculously expensive.
  7. Go fishing more often and fish with people willing to teach! Its the difference between learning from a book and learning hands-on. Judging by some of your amazing handy work, I'd say your a hands-on learner!
  8. Dan, the restaurant at the french river trading post is pretty good. In gravenhurst, there is a new restaurant that offers the FRESHEST food around! They are only open certain times of the day so they can get their ingredients. For the life of me I can't remember its name, its on the main stretch, left hand side as you enter northbound from hwy11. The GBay whitefish was fantastic! Dannys Justa Pasta near South River, on Hwy 11 is good too. Man, I travel so much that I have tons of good spots, unfortunately my memory for restaurant names is terrible. Oh, if your ever on St. Josephs Island, go to The Lighthouse!
  9. Shenn and Gustavsen are terrible I say trade both for a bus.
  10. Haha MM Trash talk central. I think they'll make the playoffs...barely, but they'll get in. Shenn's gonna go, he's playing like a log this year. They may as well trade him because there's actually a market for a big, slow defensmen at this time of year. They need more power up front... get Bobby Ryan!
  11. Sounds like a good time. At least you guys were kept busy with the ciscoes. I've heard tales of huge walleye from that lake...
  12. Haha just watch the video where everyone was asking him what he was using
  13. Is that truck on C-Bay? that's quite the rig..I wonder if the ministry of labour has seen that one? Great fish man! You're doing great out there. My year on Nipissing has been dismal at best so far.
  14. I agree that a fish hatchery, or fishing related charity would make the most sense for us... what do you think Shoe? This is your initiative after all. Anybody have specific hatcheries or programs or events that they could suggest to put into a poll? Oh, have the admins given their blessing??
  15. Good stuff Vin! Did Jacques blast any Skrillex for you? Unfortunate about the lack of fish, but, don't we all have those days from time to time? Sounds like a wonderful roadtrip!
  16. Maybe gather a few popular Charity selections and then put them in a poll? So far we have.... Fishing for Tyler. A specified hatchery program. The Good Sheppard. etc.. Same can be done with two or three T-shirt design ideas. Once these are decided, we could pick a "Fund Collector" and begin taking orders. Like Mike just said, collect the orders and money for a couple weeks or a month, then print the shirts..maybe make an extra 10 for stragglers. I'd probably buy two or three...they'd make for great prizes at next year's Nip G2G.
  17. Top notch idea. I'd purchase one for sure. We don't use the Ontario Sport Fishing Logo on this site and swag from that site seems to have all but disappeared and the Logo at the top left of this page is a bit...well...underwhelming, so I don't know what we would use as a logo. If we came up with some art, I agree with Nipfisher that it should be kept simple. Maybe ask Bushart to come up with something using "Ontario Fishing Community"??? I'd help with Admin, but I think it would be easier for someone in Barrie or Toronto, or somebody nearby you, Shoemaker.
  18. Down the hole you figure? Or on your walk back to the car? I'm sure Blair or Kevin will keep an eye out the next time they are in that area.
  19. Where do you live in Northern Ontario? I want to visit your restaurant
  20. The perch fishing seems to be quite a bit slower this year and I've never seen so many small walleye as I have this year! I can't see the pics, but sounds like a fun escape none-the-less. Edit: saw the photo. Nice herring and big smile!
  21. I'm glad you recovered your stuff, Dan! Could you hear the ice cracking at night? Other than a tiny perch, I got left far behind in the derby. I hope to go to deep water with Blair this week and catch ourselves lots of Jumbos and wobbly walleye.
  22. aww your skunk never went away? I was sure you'd get something at night.... SOunds like Karma bit you in the butt for making fun of Nick haha.
