  1. Thanks for the reply Lundboy. Will check it out. Thanks Sherriff
  2. The other day when I went out fishing I had charged up the boat batteries for the entire night before. I have a 3 bank charger. The charger said I was fully charged and it was in Float mode (all batteries fully charged). When I launched the boat I checked the battery gauge on the trolling motor unit. Was only 1/2 charged. Thought one battery in the 24 volt system was shot. After charging the system the entire day today I checked and now the battery gauge on the Minnkota is reading 3/4 but the 3 bank charger was back on Float mode. I then tried my tester and all my two deep cycle batteries are full 12 volts each as well as my cranking battery. So, I think I am right in assuming that the Minnkota gauge is screwed. Any other thoughts or similar experiences?? Thanks Sherriff

  6. I have only fished for pike. Fish the weeds with large minnows under a float. I also like using X-raps and Johnson Silver Minnows. Sherriff
  7. Willis Knot for sure and I used nail polish remover to stiffen the up the Power Pro. But the glue should be better. Takes a steady hand.. Not something I would attempt on the water... Sherriff

  16. Last minute last night gave my brother Jamie a call and he was in. Headed out of 50 Point towards the lift bridge. Marked pods of bait and some hooks but not much. Ran 4 rods. Had the 5 colour peel some line a few times but nothing hooked up. Then the 10 colour goes, had weight and we saw it on the surface way back, then we lost it. Finally a rod fires again and this time a get a nice Chinook in the boat. Next up is Jamie. The dipsey rod fires and Jamie lands one. Both fish came in 130 feet of water. We trolled for another hour and headed back to 50. Great night to be out and nice to get into some fish as well.....Kept both fish. Jame kept the smaller one and I gave the other to my neighbor.... 17. I stayed there many times when it was the Lancaster House. Great place and my buddy jsut got back from there two weekends ago. They did ok, some OOS bass, perch, pike and walleye. I am told there is a shoal with a weed bed right near the lodge. Not 100% sure though. It's a great place to spend the weekend. Also, the old owner told us there were some monster walleye under the boat dock so give that a go. Sherriff

  23. Headed up for our annual get together with the guys. We stay at Nanmark Cottages and always have a great time. The place is amazing... Left Hamilton around 5:00am just to get up there and relax. Fishing is closed until midnight but just relaxing and catching up may be the best part of the entire trip. We headed out at midnight just to give it a go. Skunk. Nothing. But still good to get back on the bay. First thing in the morning we all headed out and the fishing was pretty good. The key was to just use the tried and true jig and a worm. Don't think colour mattered at all. I think the key was to get the correct jig weight for the drift we were doing. At times one guy in a boat of three was slaying the walleye while the other two did not get a nibble. A jig size was the only difference. A few other species were landed on other presentations but the walleye seem to just take the jigs/worm combo. I think everyone managed a walleye or at least had some pike, perch, rock bass or one of these to keep them busy. Sheepie Throughout the weekend we found some new spots that were producing. The old spots and well known drifts did not seem as hot as previous years and the winds made it impossible to get a good drift down. Here are a few catches. Dana Jon Me with an eye in the slot. Back it went. Frank Scott with a surprise OOS smallie. Back it went. Guys Fish fry The weekend came and went way to fast as always. Callendar Bay Sunset.... Sherriff
  24. Amazing. Looks like a beauty spot. Sherriff
