  1. Great showing in the tourney Tony. You guys did great!!! Sherriff
  2. Bobcaygeon for me as well. Lived there during school and have many relatives up there still. Spend many, many weekends/holidays there as a kid. I am in my Happy Place when I am in Bobcaygeon..... Sherriff
  3. My friend went the other night, $28 and change for two beers...... Unreal. Sherriff
  4. Thanks for the info guys. Sorry I did forget to add some additional info about the motor. It is a 2005 9.9 Mercury short shaft, 4 stroke to be used as a kicker. I find that on my transom, it does come in and out of the water a little the few times I tried it. Nothing to affect the steady impellor stream of water coming out. I just think that the 20" shaft would be much better for steering control and a better bite in the water if it was a little choppy... As mentioned, I hate thinking about buying an unknown used motor. I do have a kicker bracket that would fix the situation but I also prefer to mount it right on my transom and I don;t want to drill more holes in my boat...LOL Thanks Sherriff
  5. Curious if anyone has tried the shaft extension kits for their motor. Extending it from a short to a long shaft. There are kits out there but not sure of the prices yet. Might be best to sell my short shaft instead and buy a long shaft but then I am into a used motor that I do not know much about..... Thanks for any info... Sherriff
  6. I also have the Ice 55 and love it. Great unit so far. Sherriff
  7. Was there last weekend. We struggled. Two nice eyes in the slot so they had to go back. One nice pike and a few decent perch. We caught tons of mud puppies, many more than previous years.... Good luck, hope it turns on for you. Had many fish come up on the flasher and look at our offerings but they would not commit.... Sherriff
  8. Very nice eyes! Nice job... Nothing nice to say I guess.. Sherriff
  9. I went to Fleming in 97 or so and wanted to be a CO like many others. Luckily, they offer a common first year program where you take a class in everything they offer. I hope they still do this. It was a great experience. I was also told about the % that get jobs after graduation in the many courses they offer and I believe they were fairly honest. After thinking things through, I went into Cartography and GIS. This allowed me to still be involved somewhat in Natural Resources and also have a decent opportunity to find employment as well. The bonus for me was that I was not computer savoy at all and Cart/GIS was some manual map production and tons of digital map production. This forced me to learn to use a pc. By doing this I was always able to find work during my summers off and after graduating. I think that working in your choosen field during your summers off is a HUGE advantage over others. Many of my classmates graduated with 2 dilpomas like I did but I had three summers of work experience and that gave me the edge for jobs. I also worked for very low hourly wages and would travel anywhere I had to for work. Some classmates stayed local and worked in factories making a ton of cash but sadly they were not able to offer anything on top of a couple dilpomas when it came time to look for a career. So even though I was not able to be the CO I wanted to be, I was able to work in forestry while in BC, at Fisheries and Oceans here in Ontario, the MTO and now I work for a municipality. I think that we have 20-30 Fleming grads working here in our Public Works department alone. If you want to still go into F&W, then do it but try to get as much experience before graduation as you can. And, be willing to move anywhere you need to for work. I am sure you will find something...... As far as Fleming goes, I really enjoyed my time there and think it is a great school. When it comes to GIS, at the time I was at Fleming they were the experts in training GIS professionals. I think now every college and university offers it so employers now have many more applicants to choose from. Hopefully, Fleming is still highly regarded by employers in GIS and other courses so that they can help grads find jobs... Good luck. Sherriff
  10. Cool thing about music is that everyone has a different opinion. Keep them coming. Love reading what others think on this. Sherriff
  11. About time that wind power was used on a large scale!! I would think that Erie would be better for this because it is much shallower and seems to always be windy when I go out. There are many on ther shoreline near Burwell (I think). Sherriff
  12. Ok, maybe the best rock album in 10 years was a little strong LOL, I shoulda said that is was the most excited I have been over an album in the last 10 years. But I still love it!... I do kinda wish it was an Axl solo effort and he had dropped the G N R name. Sherriff
  13. Anyone a Guns N' Roses fan? I picked up Chinese Democracy the other day and WOW! If people can get past the fact that Slash and company are gone, they will really like this album. I gotta say, the more I listen to it, the more I like it, LOVE it. Killer vocals from Axl, great lyrics and sizzling guitar solos......My only complaint, it is way over produced. If any other band had come out with this, I think it would be HUGE and they would be the next great thing. Best Rock album in 10 year in my opinion.... Sherriff
  14. Sad for sure.... Great band and a great entertainer.... SMOKING KILLS! Sherriff
  15. We fish Callendar every opener and kill the walleye drifting. Love the tranquin, easy goin way of fishing.... Sadly, this is the only time I drift. Maybe I need to do this more ofter. Sherriff
  16. Headed out a few times this week. Wed and Sat. Both days the Chinook were on fire. Best thing about this week is that I was able to get 4 people into their first salmon. My wife, my student, a coworker and his brother who was visiting from Albania. What a blast seeing people feel the power of a King for the first time. Here are some pics. I even managed a few... Good times.. Sherriff
  17. This was odd, I thought I was out fishing? Wish I was there..\ Sherriff
  18. Great resource here that I used.... http://boating.ncf.ca/buy-usa.html Sherriff
  19. If you were an employer and someone broke your rules, that would be reason to dismiss someone whether it was for a 16 cent item or something of more value. Rules are rules. Simple... Again, I am sure there is more to this than a simple tim bit but either way, maybe they are fed up with someone bending the rules... Sherriff
  20. It says the dog treats are day olds. Guess if she gave the kid a day old the mother could have sued Tim Horton's ass. Sherriff
  21. I agree that is seems horrible and I am sure the papers played it up but policy is policy. Rules are rules. It does not really matter if the company is a billion dollar company or a small mom and pop shop they are there to make money. If every employee at Timmies starting giving food away when they felt the need too, I am sure Timmy's would be in $ trouble. Starts out as a timbit, then coffees and then who knows what staff will start "feeling the need" to give away.... Also, I use to work fast food years ago and at the restaraunt I worked at, if there was any leftover food the employees could take it home. Great. Better than wasting it right? Then people started cooking extra so they had food for home. Wrecked it for everyone. I gotta side with the restaurant. Plus, as mentioned above, there may be more to the story. As usual, the people who made the rules are being penalized for following up on them.... Anything that goes over the counter must be chucked out because, who knows what some whacko has done with it. Seems silly when you have eye contact with the item at all times but, again, policy is policy. What if someone got sick from it? People take people to court for EVERYThing these days so everyone must protect themselves. Eg. Coffee spilt at Mc D's and the person sued and won because it was too hot. dang joke... Just my 2 cents.... Sherriff
  22. I have mine in the stern where my batteries are. Similar to the above, except stern. Not much room in there but just keep the lid open when charging. Mine does not get too hot anyways.. Sherriff
