  1. without more info on the type of tire, I would hazard a few guesses - 1 - bias ply; 2 you trailer relatively long distances at a shot (an hour or more), 3, you probably are exceeding their speed rating. One question - do you check the tire pressure before every outing? Would I run with them? Nope. a set of radial tires is worth 160.00 installed. Damage to boat, trailer, other vehicles on the road when your tire blow. A little more. If a piece of that flying rubber hits a motorcyclist, convertible or even an open window the damage could be fatal - literally. replaced my bias plies with radials and will never go back. (edited for spelling)
  2. Done . We'll get a few more in there before the show is over too.
  3. nice set of slimers there. well done.

  5. Stunning photos.
  6. Well done again this year Richard . Very worthwhile and rewarding cause. That picture where the fish jumped and all the kids are in various states of open mouthed shock is perfect. Good on ya
  7. Dave - are you talking about the same thing we are? "im always a few mm too short, also hand held " Awesome shots Joey - thats quite the lense. Yours is nice too Dave, in a smaller, kind of way.
  8. I only get one day a week that I can potentially hit the lake this time of year. And lately that day has brought North East winds and 3 - 4 foot waves. Just not fun in the 16 footer, and definitely not something to take my 9 year old out in. So I was all smiles when suddenly on Friday the wind forecast for Lake O improved. Initial plan was launch at Queenston and motor to the bar. If things got bouncy we could always take the shelter of the gorge. Then this morning at 5:00 Windfinder showed 3 knot winds out of our favourite launch I made lunch and had a coffee then tapped G on the back at 5:20. "G- fishin day". He rolled over looked at me a sec and said AWESOME. He bounced out of bed and 3 minutes later was guiding me to hook up. As we drove East the sun made for a beautiful view on the few scuttering clouds, a blazing red line through the middle of the clouds that dispersed into a tamer reddy-purple at the edges. Last 4 outings on O I have nothing to show - although G did get a couple nice ones our first 2 outings. Today though, I could feel the Karma. We watched the sun rise over the Lake as we turned off the Red Hill and onto the QEW. It was spectacular - and the view of TO across the lake was magnificent. Julie - shame you couldn't be with us - I know your photos of today would have been fantastic. As we pulled into the ramp the local poop patrol had about 30 goslings running around. The boats are mostly in their berths, which they werent out last outing. The sun was a little higher than I wanted by the time we hit the water - but we were still out and setting up by 7:00 As we hit 48 ft of water due E the rigger set to track bottom bounced twice - FISH ON. Finally the lake relents and I bring in a PB 31" football from the bottom About an hour later in 60 foot of water the same rod fires and G has 150 foot of line to bring in before he finds out what he has. Whereas mine swam right at us for a bit, G's bulldogs and make him work those little arms of his for all he's got. Now we are on separate teams he's gotta bring his own in. A few minutes later and he has a matching 31 in tank. Ya gotta love it when the fish is so big it almost wraps around the guy. We got one more about 23 - 25 inches about an hour later and that was it. We're still looking for our first spring salmon. But I will take a day like this anytime. Great times with my boy, in great weather, and an entry for each of our teams. So long pepe, hello the little fishy.
  9. you're having a great spring there MF - all you need now is some brookies to make it SPECKtacular ? Nice fish.

    Grackle Nest

That'd be the Cowbird Dave. Looks similar but brown head instead of blue /purple. Cool shot Joey
  11. nice going Emile. I still have to find the groove out there this year. Last 3 outings have been a bust. Good to see someone get on them
  12. Positive thoughts for you and your family Dave. I hope your Dad makes a full recovery and lives many more years to come. Take note of TJ's words - very true. Watching my Dad fade through Alzheimers almost ripped our family apart as I tried to do what could not be done. Luckily I realised the affect it was having and changed the tack before it was too late.
  13. Great - that shoots that honey hole to heck seeing as how you didnt blur the background Maybe you need to try the special reel Jamie had to up the perch success? But seriously - fun report this place can use a little more of that looks like a good time Dan - good on ya for the excercise
  14. Nice shooting Jacques - got yourself a new additiction, somehow I think Visa will be happy too. sure was when I found my latest addiction.
  15. Wow - sleep deprivation obviously sharpens your guys skills - these are some beauty browns
  16. great report - thanks. the scenery and the fish are both sweet
  17. Nice shootin - nothing wrong with that score for opening day - you must have walked a ways to catch 'em - cause every opener I used to do there was always more people on the bank than fish in the river - even after a 2 hour drive and a 45 minute hike. Mostly the reason I dont do them anymore. That and Lake O anyway.
  18. Right on Simon; great to be out in the boat with young master-limey. G-man's gonna have competition this year in the kids fishin category. Fanatstic scenery you have at the end of your yard -
  19. nice going. Man I gotta get out there.
  20. nice going. Got my finger crossed the winds wont be too bad Sunday and maybe I can get out again
  21. Wow - that is a tank of a brownie. Congrats!
  22. Right on Richard! Bang a gong - get it on.
  23. looks like a great get away Chad - nice goin'. Nothing like when your efforts are rewarded with a couple of sweet fish. Cant wait till the weather starts playing nice down here again, and I can get out on the water.
  24. Very cool. Some nice Karma there
  25. . Nice going Chris - wish I could have been there. Great colours on that last one, and congrats on your PB.
