  1. ouch, that sucks Ron. Sorry to hear about that. She will likely be found at fault and your company will settle with you then subrogate hers (and recover the costs). This shouldn't affect your rates, especially if you dont have any other accident sin th elast 4 years. If it goes any other way you may want to follow up. PM me if that happens - I may be able to help. Of course you'll still have after market replacements parts - and if they are anything like the once used on my old van after the tornado gently hurled a large tree branch on it, the mirror will shake and although it will look the same - you will know.
  2. There are actually quite a few commercial products offered in the market place that do exactly this. Primarily aimed at tractor trailer fleets as a method of driver management, training and improvement, they have also played some pivitol roles in establishing liability in vehicle crashes. Example: My link The results of these have been primarily used in civil actions (settling lawsuits). FNA can probably provide some insight into what could be done for taping a moron (hopefully you arent doing it using your phone while driving ).
  3. great report - thanks for taking the time. Looks like a great selection of fish - would like to see one of those walleye eating pike come up to the boat.
  4. If anyone can beat it Jen can, and I'm confident she will again. The invite is open if you and Leah ever need it. Positive thoughts your way from all if us here.
  5. x2. No need to keep when they are are running to spawn.
  6. enjoy Simon - and take notes - we're thinking of heading out there next year - we need some pointers. And no, I'm not touching I'm traveling with the Missus and ex girlfriend + hubby (it's complicated) That goes beyond catch and release.
  7. that is just shameful and such a waste. too bad they didnt get a shot of the responsible
  8. indeed, and well balanced , reporting both sides of the discussion thanks Simon - always good to get some scientific insight - but the fact remains - these photos are a 12 month span - not 40 years. And there is at least a 2.5 ft drop, if not more between those 2 photos.Further, this is the lwest these lakes have been since 2005 (according to the people at the marina, who have a pretty good handle on things, if not scientific) The dam at Cornwall has made a decision to lower the lake this much - but they dont point out why. You wonder if perhaps maintaining water levels in the St Lawrence and its shipping channels may have something to do with that? We have had the worst drought since 2005.
  9. Frankie65 and G launching, Jordan, Aug, 2011 take a look at the dock in the back ground too G and me launching,Labour day 2012 - same spot The dock in the background from pic 1 I was kind of shocked at the launch - but i was gobsmacked once I checked last years photo out So - let's just say....a 4 ft drop in water level (might be alittle high, but hey, this was an excercise) Searched internet to tell me how many sq kms of Lake O surface area, times 4 ft drop. How many gallons does that equal (multiply the answer below by 4 for those used to litres) 6,106,609,605,912. US Fluid Gallons wow. 5 great lakes? sure hope we get some rain and snow between now and 2013
  10. great read Pete - thanks for taking the time to put that all together. What an awesome trip. That 'ski is a real brute love the wall-to-wall walleye shot too. that there is a bunch of filets
  11. looks like an amazing place Dan. And I can imagine - only the sounds of nature and a night sky just wall to wall stars. Must have been fantastic. I can only dream of that type of get away. 3 men in a 10 foot Sears special, eh? - somehow I envision jigging was the preferred presentation as opposed to casting? this part: But the fishing was so good that at supper time one guy would start frying the potatoes and onother guy would go out in the boat for 5 minutes and come back with 3 nice eaters awesome. talk abou afresh shore lunch.
