  1. I picked one up today at crappy tire. The guides looked cheap on the rod, but on closer inspection they are stainless steel guides with titanium inserts. The rod is a Pfleuger 6.6ft 2 pc, IM8 with the split handle. Looks like a good rod for jigging eyes and finicky smallies. I will try it out tomorrow morning. I am going out to put some 8lb stren mono on it right now. Cheers.
  2. You can try hooking booster cables to your vehicle and your dead battery. Then let it run for about 15 minutes then put it back on the charger and see if it draws. This sometimes works because the alternator on your vehicle puts out more amps and might git er going for you. A car battery is okay for starting your boat motor also for the time being.
  3. I use the BIG CHIEF and it works great.
  4. Will clear silicone work?
  5. Hard to beat nice new carpet under your boat Roy.
  6. Any marine dealer can get you the high quality marine carpet as well as the proper marine adhesive
  7. Heres one I saw last year. A guy unhooks his bowline and proceeds to back down the ramp. About 15 feet from the water and his 20 ft skeeter slides of the bunks onto the cement. We had too hook the bowline back up and get about six guys to lift the boat back on. Awhile later I was talking to the owner of the boat and told him I had never seen a bassboat slide off the bunks so effortlessly. He said that the day before he coated the bunks with silicone spray to make it easier to winch the boat back on the trailer when pulling out. He got the tip from a buddy who said everyone does it where he was from. I guess he forgot to tell him not to unhook the bowline till your in the water.
  8. Heres a little tip for you guys that have no problem backing up a toilet but can't back up a trailer. When backing up, hold the steering wheel at the bottom, if you want to go left turn the wheel left if you wanna go right turn the wheel right. Makes things alot easier than holding the wheel at the top and turning in opposite directions. Now go find the toilet plunger.
  9. STR8, your a sick puppy
  10. Been doing it 25 yrs and still provide comic relief, ie leaving the straps on once in awhile.
  11. Those are really sweet. Nice paint jobs. Can you show us some of your bit up baits cause they look really cool too.
  12. I did mine myself because I was blown away at the estimates I got to have it done. My 20 ft bassboat was about 1500.00. The carpet cost me 200 and about 50 to 60 hrs of labour and I was done. Turned out perfect.
  13. Subban could of made there starting line up last fall but Bob Gainey didn't want to rush him to much. So he sent him down to get some more experience playing in the A. Was a good move, I would say.
  14. I watched Subban practice a few times when he was still in junior and he was by far the hardest working player on the ice. I think he's the real deal, and he's got pretty good wheels too.
  15. You know your getting old when you go out to the garage to get something and when you get there you forgot what you went to the garage for.
  16. Or the knob that pulls his boat 10 ft up the ramp and gets out of his suv and starts unloading the boat into his suv when theres boats lined up waiting to put in. There the ones I have no patience for and will immediately ask them to politely move there boat. Some do move and others won't.
  17. Walleye and pike opener this weekend here. Was down to the river yesterday and the water is a least 6 ft lower than normal. boat dealers and repair shops are probably rubbing there hands together in anticipation of a banner year. Be careful out there, especially on the Ottawa.
  18. Instead of sitting there laughing my ass off, I usually go and ask if they need assistance. Usually there new to the hole deal and have no idea what there doing. And there in the way and I want to go fishing
  19. She thinks she is punishing me. I don't mind the couch, kind of reminds me of camping anyway.
  20. I'm hoping to be going there this friday or saturday. Just waiting for my buddy to get his boat ready. The plan is to fish walleye first thing in the morning and then troll for them beautiful lakers later on. I will let you know how things work out if its worth writing about. Bark can be tough to fish at times but it holds lots of big fish. My pb smallmouth came out of there. 6.5 lbs.
  21. Marketing 101. Change the music dude.
  22. There starting here but not to bad yet. Just remember not to wear black at all, it attracts them. And bug dope with 99% deet keeps them at bay, just don't put it on your skin cause its nasty.
  23. Am/was going to buy a HDS5 this year but I think I will wait a bit. Have heard from a few people now about them fogging up or crapping out in heavy rain. I hope this is just a fluke cause I want one bad. But I live 4 hrs from a service depot as well and cant justify spending 600 bucks if I have to put a zip-lock bag over it if it rains
  24. Had a girl like her before. I decided to lease for 4 years with the option to purchase after 4 yrs. The residual was to high so I gave her back.
  25. Nice going. You appreciate your catch more when fishing under such tough conditions.
