Smart phone GPS is great, if you have roaming data, but for some of us, crossing the border negates that. (Cost is not worth it) Thats when the Garmin/Magellan GPSs, etc take over as the option of choice. Free updates for that kind of money is great!

For $20 bucks, it's worth a try on many things! Wonder how it would work on rod guides to keep them from freezing?

From my experience, tight fitting anything on my hands or feet, ends up making for cold extremities. I have taken to using the Hot Paws brand of fleece gloves for cold weather centerpinning. They are not waterproof. I also use the chemical toe warmers, with the adhesive that holds them in place. I use them stuck on the inside palm of the gloves. My buddy sticks them on the inside back of the gloves. Either way, they keep our hands toasty warm for more than 4 hours. I also carry a towel on my fishing vest, and make sure the hands are dry, after landing a fish. the old adage of "an ounce of prevention, etc" is correct.

Given that Black Friday is the craziest shopping spree in the US, I'd be leaving as soon as possible. Hotels around the malls will be booked already. As for the Border people, I cross two to three times a week. I never have a problem. Answer the questions they ask you truthfully. If the question can be answered in one word, then do that. Google Earth is your friend on this one. Access points are easy to spot on the computer, and easy to find when driving. I know because I just did it. If you are actually looking for someone to provide detailed directions, it probably won't happen. Especially since your first post is asking for directions to a fishing destination.

20 HP is fairly easy to pull start in case you ran the battery too low with the electronics, so why not?
