The body of evidence just builds and builds for global warming
ccmtcanada replied to scuro's topic in General Discussion
I just remember hearing about it while in school....a quick google search turned up these articles... http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2003...omment.research http://gristmill.grist.org/story/2006/11/23/18534/222 I seem to recall the media picked up on it, it didn't go far though...no Al Gore at that time to push the cause. -

Whatever happened to the coming ice age that was forecasted in the 80's? -

Oh great....now I'll never get work done at the office. It's one thing to read the board and work between posts. I can now view real live fish 24/7....jeez...hope the boss doesn't find out!!! -
Wow!!! Great walleye from both the docks and out in the boat. Really sucks about the motor issues that close to the tourney!! As far as posting while at work, that's where 90% of mine is done....it's far to busy and noisy at home....LOL.

I'll second that!

Awesome vacation pics! Looks like everyone had a great time out there. Charlotte is very cute with her fish and little John is quite the little angler! Congrats....thanks for the report.
-
Great pics and a great cause! I'm afraid we cannot make it to the camping and fish fry event. I hope it goes well! My heart goes out to his family...especially his two young kids....man....can't even imagine that situation.

Great fish! As solopaddler said, interesting observations on river salmon. Good luck out there....I look forward to more reports and great pics!

Great catch!! Those salmon in open waters are pretty powerful fish! Sucks about the swimmer though....not sure what he was thinking -
Have you seen my dog I lost him in Canada

Spiel told us that he has some new boat moves, so you're likely in better hands with Art. LOL. Good luck Art...funny....I've seen that dog before....hmmmm..... -
Wow...you really need to get out fishing more Sean....LOL. We're lucky to get out one day on the weekends. At least you had GREAT weather out there....I think that's what happened, the fish were off....they were all confused because of the lack of rain recently. Bly and I went for more muskie on Saturday....launched at noon, came in at 7. We had 5 follows right to the boat, but no takers. Oh well, had a great time out there anyways. At least you caught fish...haha. Great report as usual....also good to see your pics fitting in the width of my screen....LOL.

Great catch Terry! I've never caught a bass anywhere near that size...in fact, I think yours could eat my best for breakfast....
-
Wow...what a fantastic report!!!! You just lived my dream of heading out there and fishing for sturgeon. Great pics....looked like a trip of lifetime. Thanks for posting this report!
-
Wow Scott....and I thought Bly and I had a bad day on Sturgeon on Saturday. Had 5 muskie follows but no takers. We got to and from the launch without incident.... I hope the repairs aren't that bad. Did you friend get married?? LOL

I agree....take pictures from lots of angles, take measurements and release.... BUT If for some reason you catch a trophy fish that cannot be released, then I was told to wrap the fish tightly in newspaper, then a towel and then put in a freezer. Preferably a chest freezer...not the one on your fridge. Not being able to release the fish happened to Bly two falls ago. The walleye took the lure too deeply, cut her gills, so after trying to release it for 1/2 hour it was apparent she wasn't going to make it. It came home, was frozen and then donated to Carra Outdoor Sports so they could mount it in their store. It was too expensive for us to have it mounted.

Thanks ecmilley for looking at the motor
ccmtcanada replied to motv8tr's topic in General Discussion
Uneven compression greater than 15 psi between the two will make fine tuning the engine impossible. It'll run roughly no matter how you adjust it. Loss of compression could be anything from a seal to a scored cylinder, so it's hard to say what would happen if you kept on running it...likely more damage would be done the longer it's run....but I'm not a mechanic....not even close to one!!! The impeller should be done right away, so that lower end damage doesn't occur. If it were my engine, I'd get it overhauled now rather than later....my gut says it may cost more if you keep on running it. Hopefully Bernie or Tybo (or anyone else who knows about this topic) will chime in with some good advice. Good on Ernie to come out to test out the motor for you!! Good luck! -
Depends where I'm fishing. Salmon in closed quarters in shallow water with lots of obstacles is the hardest. Salmon in open water all you have to do is have a LOT of line....LOL. I use different equipment for steelhead....lighter line, so 10+ pound steelhead on 4 lb test is more difficult for me than a salmon on 30lb power pro. Salmon are the most powerful in my opinion though.

Change of plans for us....our oldest (aka babysitter) had a work schedule change....looks like we're headed out tomorrow instead of today. That makes today/tonight our campout in the backyard day. Our little one still wants to catch fish, so we are headed somewhere for some shore panfishing around lunch.

You kinda look strange, but I cant stand putting repellent on my face, so I use this..... Just wear a baseball cap and the mesh stays away from your face....there are two elastic straps that go under your arms to keep it down.

Cam has retired from the force and is now working for CP24 if memory serves correctly. Enough about Cam...I'm sorry I brought him up....this thread is about fishnautographs!!! :thumbsup_anim:

What a great report! Wow!! 3 daughters....you sure have a handful....and I'm assuming at least 3 bathrooms in the house....LOL. Looked like a great time....some fish were caught, lots of smiles and laughs, great pictures to capture those moments. Congrats on a great 'long weekend' Oh yeah....the cousin looked a lot like some fried fish in the 'tubing' section....she looked much different holding that fish earlier....hehe. Edit....oh sure...fix it before I get a chance to post....LOL. Again....awesome report!

I know....that's why I said that....I know a few others with the OPP as well, and they say the same thing.....LOL Congrats again

Wish I could help you out UF!! Good on you for trying to help. Back when I was a teenager, our next door neighbour did the same thing with their dog. An amazing husky....kept in a run that was about 4 feet by 12 feet. It too had to step over it's feces. My brother's and I always took time to play with the dog (thru the fence). We'd feed it dog food if we noticed they weren't home for the weekend and we'd take our garden hose and wash all his waste away into their own yard. After several 'conversations' with other neighbours in the area, they gave it to a family who would really love and take care of him. Good luck with it!

Congrats! Hey...even Cam Wooley started somewhere....
