Maybe not the best weekend of fishing, but it beats pounding the shore and getting skunked!! When you can get together with a friend and spend time together catching fish, then it's a good weekend. Oh...and summer is not over....it's not over until the fall walleye bite starts and the chrome are swimming up the streams....LOL

Scugog is a tough lake to fish if you don't know where to go...especially this time of year when lots of it is just thick thick weeds. That's why I don't fish it after July....unless someone out there wants to give up some secret spots....LOL. Kidding...just kidding....(about the locations...not the weeds)

Then you got a sweet cottage on an amazing lake with beautiful scenery, great back lakes nearby and an excellent fishery. Jeez....life just sucks for you doesn't it Mike??? LOL. Not to mention 2 great kids -
Lots of great info on both the park and fishing! Thanks! Glad to hear you had a great time...hope that bear is ok....LOL.

A Lake Erie - Ontario report FINALY!!!
ccmtcanada replied to LeXXington's topic in General Discussion
Great to see a report from you! Great job out there on the big waters....some real nice fish there! Four foot rollers and my little boat wouldn't mix to well....so I'll leave the big lake fishing to you guys with bigger boats....LOL. -
Great report! I hope my daughter is still interested as she gets older!! Looked like a great time...awesome pics too.

Unless you have other things to do locally in the Toronto area, I'd say skip the trip to BPS. I live an hour from it and maybe go there 2 times a year.

As many of you know, my other hobby is music. I've posted a few songs from my band from time to time on this board. My band has a channel on youtube, that has garnered some attention over the past few years. We are at over 450,000 views and have over 330 subscribers to our music. Anyhow, there are a few people you get to know, and early in my youtube experience, I corresponded with an amateur rock band from the Philippines. We decided to do a cover song....with me doing the vocals for them. About a month ago, they recorded all the music to the song and then emailed me the MP3. I then recorded the vocals and shot a quick video of me doing so last weekend. The video and music was sent back via email, and the result is what you see below. The internet can erase the 1000's of kms that separate people....as this board has done for many. Hope you enjoy this video. <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auP1lDoZ5_E&hl=en&fs=1">

Not quite true forrest....I have only fished Lake O a few times...and I didn't catch a ton of fish when I did....LOL. Our little 14 ft tinny (only a 5 foot wide beam), has a 1983 merc 18hp motor on it....it does 25 mph with both bly and I in the boat. Gets on a plane nice and easy at around 2/3 throttle. My brother just bought that 16 foot Legend you are looking at....I told him to get at least a 40hp on it, so he got a deal on it...I believe it was 8500 out the door....he bought his in Alberta as that's where he lives. Good luck!!

Ponds are underestimated for the fish they can hold. Go for it...at least you'll have a nice adventure....with the payoff being some undisturbed bass!

Jason....wow....now THAT'S a trip to remember!!! You screamed like a girl....LOL...that's too funny. So he brought you a rifle....now that gives me conifidence....haha. Looked like an awesome time (minus the bear)....amazing the stars all lined up for you and you got away on a last minute fly in like that. Congrats on another PB!! You'll have to join us this year for walleye so you can beat it again....grant it, it's not nearly as picturesque, but if you close you eyes, you can almost imagine it...hehe. -
Here's a link to that lake, with directions to a boat launch.... http://www.parrysound.com/fun/explore/110/

That's the way it always works DSN! Congrats on catching it....I'm still looking for my first one.

You've seen where I fish...so PP is the way to go. Also, I exclusively fish for them at night, so I don't think the visibility is as much a factor in my waters.

Caught a chinny...with a white mouth/gums?
ccmtcanada replied to kemper's topic in General Discussion
Cant help you with the white mouth thing, but great job on landing it -
Great report guys! Scott, the bass master....whoa, does that sound strange....LOL. Great fish, great pics....looked like a great day...congrats guys.
-
I've fought one salmon in closed quarters in the creek kemper is talking about. The fight lasted about 10 seconds on 10 lb test before I knew that I was out of my league!! LoL. I'll stick to catching them at the mouths.
-
Sweet bass! Great pics and nice fish for sure. When I got up at 530 this morning it was 14C according to the radio. When I got to the office at 715, they said the temps went down to 12C, so it wasn't your imagination...it did get colder!
-
A great mixed bag of fish there! Enough to keep everyone in the family interested....doesn't get much better than that. Sturgeon is my favourite lake now as well...even thinking of renting a slip there for my boat next season. Great report with great pics...thanks for taking the time to put this together!

Absolutely Amazing day on Sturgeon Lake!!!!!!!!!!
ccmtcanada replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
I hear you Jason! I'll call you to set something up! Interesting Rich....never heard of that before! Yeah...it was a great fight! Not sure if we have the bug yet, but they sure are fun to catch! Jen...we were saying even before the muskies that it was just a great day...lots of laughs, no agenda for the day....just having fun and relaxing. The muskies were just a bonus to an already perfect day. Follow us?? LOL. One great day on the water....probably just a fluke... -
Wow....great pics and awsome journey out west! Had to have killed you though...seeing all those lakes in Northern Ontario and that trout though....I know it would have done me in...LOL. Hope you're getting settled nicely...looking forward to your first western report!
