Wow....I don't really like ice fishing, but reports like this may just get me out on the ice this winter! Great report and video...kudos for getting out with a fellow OFC'er...like others have said, any I have met and fished with have been great times!

Lasted about half an hour here. Side street are a mess, but previously treated surfaces it's just wet. 401 is just fine thru Toronto and Durham. Be careful...off and on ramps could be ugly!!

Most of the mid to south end of scugog is just a big old shallow weed bed. More of a weed carpet actually. Hence the Bog.

Be careful out there on piers in the winter. Most will have about 2 feet of ice and snow on top of them! Get some cleats for your shoes. Good luck out there!

Hey Mike...another awesome report! The pictures really tell the story here! It was well worth driving 5 hours there and 5 hours back to Michigan for the 6 or so hours I got to fish. The fish came in waves...non stop catching...a little break...and then catching all over again!! Thanks a lot for inviting me...and allowing me to crash at your motel Monday night too! Great meeting you BillM....your excitement is infectious! We'll have to get together again in the spring for sure. I'll add a few pics from my camera as well....later!

I was here in Michigan at the inlaws place with a bad cold. Slept on the couch from 7 til 10ish...fought to stay awake until midnight...took some cold medication and was asleep by 1215....LOL. Earlier in the day, I noticed I had a flat tire....had to get that fixed... Oh well...a new year has begun...and I hope it's the best ever! Happy New year everyone!!!

Just before I came to my in-laws place here in Michigan, I got a PM from Solopaddler...would I be interested in meeting up with him and BillM for a few days of steelheading? Well...I couldn't pull off both days, but with Bly's blessing, I drove there last night and fished day two with them....which was today. Yep...a few Esso stations in the Whitby/Oshawa area are closed down...no gas either!
