  1. Great photos...it inspired me actually! I drove to my mom's place this morning to pick up old photo albums, so I'll be scanning them soon and posting a few as well. Thanks for getting me off my butt...I've been wanting to do this for a while now.
  2. Hey CC! Great to see Steel reports from you again! Was wondering if any were swimming around lately...maybe I'll have to give it a try again soon.
  3. When you've only been fishing for 2 years getting PB's is pretty easy...and I post for both Bly and I....but thanks
  4. Umm...take mine off...thanks for the nomination, but I have no business being there with solopaddler and moosebunk...LOL.
  5. Ok...now that the original shock is over (thanks snag for bringing back that horrifying childhood memory), I thought I'd respond. Birds have destroyed more than a few fishing trips for me... One time I was shore fishing...I looked behind and like ferocious Velociraptor, they snuck on me...surrounded me....and I had nowhere to go but to jump in the water!!! Little did I know that these guys were adept at swimming. Luckily the coast guard was close by to save the day..they found me a kilometer from shore. Then there was the time Fishnsled took me fishing. I got out of the car at sunrise...stretched, took a look around and saw this terrifying sight...I spent the rest of the day in the fetal position with the muskie cradle over my head mumbling "If I cant see them, they cant see me...." Then, although with best intentions, Big Cliff and my little one shows me how harmless they can be. Sure...they were ok, but I sure miss my dog. I'm not 100% convinced those things had nothing to do with it.....
  6. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Ohh...thought you meant fishing night shift....
  8. I've had similar experiences trying to sign up. Registered...waited for confirmation email. It never arrived. Emailed the admin 4 times and gave up after no response. Oh well...
  9. I checked it out...great article there! I love heading out on a cold crisp winter day with slush coming down the river, and me all by myself. I actually caught my PB steelhead on a frosty day like that. Looking forward to the next installment!
  10. Those were hilarious! On the commode again...i just cant wait to get on the commode again... It seems I was here a minute ago, and I just cant wait to get on the commode again...
  11. I'd almost take up ice fishing if I had that!!
  12. Yawn....was hoping to hibernate thru the winter, but I gotta get moving on this thing...LOL. Aile Goby...stay tuned...a sign up thread will appear soon!
  13. Don't worry Glen...hope to have the tourney set up soon! I'm going to send out the request for captains shortly and begin sign ups. I just have to work out a date for it all to happen, but I'm hoping it's within a week. The intention is to start it ASAP so that steelheaders, ice anglers, and our friends down south could all take part. At this point, there are no changes to the rules planned. Stay tuned!
  14. LOL...now that was funny! It's a little different than testing out a 9 volt battery I would assume!!!
  15. When I was around 8 years old, my uncle was doing renovations in his basement...none of the switchplate covers were on. He had this huge COOL electric train set down there that I always went to play with. So, I headed down the stairs, knew where the light switch was and went to turn it on. My fingers went inside the box and suddenly my whole arm went numb...I heard a buzzing in my head and felt myself vibrating. I tried to take my hand out, but couldn't. I then used my other fist to punch my forearm and it came out. I sat there for a bit, went back upstairs and told my uncle what happened. To this day he hasn't forgiven himself for that incident! Anyhow, I have a friend who is an electrician...he does all my work now...LOL. However, to keep this on topic, I do remove light bulbs that break off...I just use needle nose pliers to grab part of the base...the aluminum is pretty thin and pliable...find a spot and rotate it out. I don't turn off the power to the whole house, but I use my voltmeter to make sure there are no hot wires before any tools go anywhere near it.
  16. Very happy to hear she's home FNA!!! I'm hoping it was just a virus...and that she's on the mend now. Thanks again for your updates.
  17. Thanks for the update FNA....as you can see, there are a lot of us who are behind you and your daughter...and your family. You all are in our thoughts...and like others have said, things look to be on the upside here.
  18. Wow...can those fish be any more active??? WOW!! To fight one of those 12 pounders would be incredible!! To get them on the fly is evern more impressive....jeez...
  19. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Reminds me of when my daughter had an ultrasound done because of some issues she was having...she was about 3 at the time... The ultrasound came back as showing a 'mass' on her bladder. We ended up with an appointmen at Sick Kids in Toronto. The not knowing is the hardest thing, but all turned out well in our case...by the time our appointment came, there was no sign of that 'mass' and she's been fine ever since. Hoping it turns out the same for you....
  20. Hey HH.... I use Limewire for all the tunes my band plays...just set your search criteria to return mp3s only...that should filter out a lot of the garbage...
  21. Very sorry to hear this news... Our condolences to you and your family...and to all who knew him. This was a very fitting tribute... Cliff and Carole

  23. Wow...there's a lifetime memory right there...for both you and your nephew... Great feel good report...thanks for taking the time to share it with us!
  24. Wow...the winter soft water reports!!! I'm not a fan of ice fishing, so I always look forward to seeing these on the board. Amazing Brown!!! Keep em coming...I'm not brave enough to put my boat in the winter yet...maybe I should get a few tips from you and give it a try!
