Blyght and I are working on babysitting for the weekend...looks like we may have that shored up soon! As per BITEME's question....is the weekend of the 23rd and 24th confirmed? Also, is there much by way of shore or dock fishing there? We don't have a boat, but are willing to split expenses for someone who has some room. We'd love to hook up with any member from the board! We don't mind fishing from shore either...we'll just need a few hints as to where to fish...it's not a place we can get up to easily to scope out ahead of time. Looking forward to the weekend!

Great report! Gotta love fishing this time of year....I figured I'd be done back in November....but I keep going out! I got Christmas presents this year that I'm happy to say I've been able to use already! Thanks for posting!

Great report Rich! Good to see ppl pulling fish out of open water this late in the season...or early in the year...whatever way you look at it. Looked like a great time!

I hear you on hook setting lessons!!! I started trib fishing a few weeks ago...been out 4 times. The first 3 I had some hits...but no fish on. Today I had my first fish on....took about 30 ft of drag, fought a bit, then I lost it. Man...was I pumped! I had ppl to my right pull a beauty out of the water...he also lost 2. To my left about 200 yards there were 7 people on the banks....they pulled out five!!! Man....was I jealous!! LOL. I do know that with each outing I'm learning more and more....you'll land your first soon I'm sure....I hope I will too!

It's great to see others pull fish out of the creeks. I started creek fishing a few weeks ago...been out 4 times and have been skunked! I had a fish on today and it gave a great fight....only for me to lose it. Reports like this keep me motivated to try again!

Great report Mike! Sorry about the skunk though. Blyght and I get skunked most times we go out...we just don't post reports about it...haha. I have now tried steelheading 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I went out again today. At least today I hooked into one for about 15 seconds before I lost him. Oh well...we all get skunked right? Looks like some nasty weather coming this week....fishing reports for my will be few! Better luck next time Mike!

LOL...as soon as it hit I knew it wasn't an eye...pike are too cranky for me....haha. Next time I'll just cut the line....

Back when we posted our season ending report in November, we really thought it would be!! In any other year it would have been....lol. The finger is healing up nicely....will be ready to hit the trib tomorrow after this great rain! I gotta hook me a nice steelie.

WOW!!! What a great summary!!! I caught a grand total of 10 fish in 06...not counting pan fish!! We keep records of all the sizes and weights too...so you're not too much of a geek...wait...maybe I'm a geek too....lol. Anyhow...awesome report, and I hope one day to be as successful as you!

With the great temps, blyght and I HAD to go out tonight....even though it was raining. It was a nice 11C while we were out there....no wind to speak of, no waves and nice green water with plenty of bait fish swimming around. We were in touch with fishindevil, so we hooked up. We were trying to land some more Walleye, but it was not to be! A few hours into fishing I pulled this pike out of the water....a 32", 14.5" girth, 8 lb 3oz toothy critter. The blood on my left hand isn't the pike's....he got me....and pretty good too! It bled for quite a while and luckily fishindevil had some kleenex so I could apply some pressure to it...stopped bleeding after about 10 minutes. He took the lure very deep and it took a while to get it out, but after about 10 minutes, he swam away....for me to catch another day!

Kim M....as in Kim Mitchell? Wow...that's cool! Max Webster was awesome....and when he went solo, I saw him every year at Canada's Wonderland....remember the $4 summer concert series at Kingswood??? The best show I saw was the Shakin into '87 tour at Maple Leafs Gardens....new years eve concert!

Thanks for the update and hang in there! I'm not sure if I could be away from home for that long....will you be home for the birth of you child? Congrats on your succession thru training! Hope you get back to fishing in the spring.
