  1. Looked like a great time everyone! Nice pics...and sorry to hear about those young women with facial hair fetishes....they spoil it every time....haha.
  2. CANADIANCOPPER...LOL...I tried to hide my Japanese accent the whole day...man was that hard to do!!! The funny thing about this swill is that all the asian guys forgot their cameras.....ROFL.
  3. Blyght and I had a great time at our first ever OFC get together. Chatting with Clampett, HearingFish and of course Joey and Tybo was awesome! Thanks for the pics and report Paul! Also, thanks to HearingFish for organizing this one...much appreciated!
  4. Awesome thread! You are right....it's all about smiles and friendships...couldn't have said it better myself. Best wishes to you as well in 2007...and I hope we see more posts from you!
  5. Thanks everyone....I was beginning to think I'd never catch one. They are scrappy fish and I can see why it's so addicting!
  6. Field goal attempt....It's up....IT'S GOOD!!!!
  7. Well...after catching nothing in about 8 outings, my skunk was finally broken....thanks to the expertise of CANADIAN COPPER. We headed out on a "crisp" morning. CRISP being an understatement. It was a balmy -17C (-24C with the windchill). Good thing it wasn't windy where we were....not that it mattered THAT much...LOL. I remember back in October saying "as soon as it goes below zero, my fishing season is over". Anyhow, we arrived at our spot bright and early...around 6:15am. He blindfolded me...even though I had to drive...he just gave directions. It was still dark out and for some reason no one else was around..haha. I wasn't quite sure where the water was, because of the ice fog coming off of it!! The visibility was around a foot and we had our lines in the water, using roe. By 8am, I had a hit...FISH ON!!! I fought him, and eventually brought him close, with CANADIAN COPPER manning the net. Just as he went to reach for it, it rolled and snapped my line. We figure it was a nice 8 pounder that got away. A little while later, I had yet another hit. This was a little guy, so I managed to land him farily quickly. Here's the chromie that ended my skunk. No, the fish didn't instantly freeze when he came out of the water....hehe...that's snow on him. He was back in the water about 2 minutes after he came out of the water....just time for a quick pic and back in. CANADIAN COPPER then finally landed this 7 pounder on a jig. He was getting a little concerned because me...the newbie already landed one and lost one...this was his first hit all day long. Anyhow, I had one last hit around noon....and then promptly lost him...using a pink worm. Thanks CANADIAN COPPER....for taking me under your wing...and teaching me the ropes. Also for the use of the equipment and the company. I'll be calling you again soon I'm sure!!! PS...gotta go to the ER....should get those black toes looked at....they just dont feel right....LOL j/k
  8. I'm just heading out to pick up CanadianCopper in a few minutes to head out fishing!!!! I hope I can walk with all these layers I have on....LOL.
  9. Cry me a river Nippising...I'm the one married to her.....LOL.
  10. Lew...sorry to hear it didn't work well for you. I hope the surgery went well for you!! I was close to a herniated disc...there was already compression happening, but with help from my chiropractor, I've learned to feel the warning signs. Sciatica is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. I hope your back is better now...dont need pesky stuff like that getting in the way of fishing!!!
  11. Hilarious!!!! Here are some more.... Why does the 7-11 have locks on the doors if they are open 24/7? Why is there braille on drive thru bank machines?
  12. The answer is bizarre...but subsequent web searches has testimonials from lots of people who swear by it...thanks for posting this thread Clampet...I'm going to give it a try!
  13. Great advice. The person I go to uses "one time" disposables only. He has to open each needle from a sealed package one at a time. He is attached to a larger clinic as mentioned in your note. He was telling me that in the 80's, with the AIDS scare, you couldn't give accupuncture services away, but in the last 10 years there has been a phenonemal comeback. He himself was a non-believer in it until a friend treated his tennis elbow and it disappeared after one treatment. He then went to school and has been practising both Chiropractic and accupuncture for years.
  14. Eddyk...it is covered by my work's group benefit plan....up to $500 per year. You should check yours out....with mine, it's under the same category as massage therapy and chiropractic care.
  15. I know it's not fishing related, but I thought I'd share something with everyone. For the past year and a half, I've had muscle pain between and under my shoulder blades. It started out as general stiffness, and then pain. The pain was relieved with anti inflammatories and massage therapy temporarily. I already see a chiropractor, and adjustments also helped out for about a day or two, then it would come back. Recently it's been so bad that if I put my arms over my head and look straight back, I would feel numbness down my arms. My wife suggested accupuncture and at first I was like....stick pins in me?? I dont think so!! I read up on it and it talked about energy and channels etc.... Seemed like a lot of hogwash to me, but I decided to take the plunge. The Doctor put about 9 needles in me....my shoulders, back and arms. I was lying there thinking, this will never work. He took them out and asked me how I felt. At the time I felt the same...no change, so I drove home. About half way home, I realized that my shoulder felt relaxed for the first time in over a year. I had another treatment a few days later and now the pain/stiffness is completely gone! I cant explain it, but it is. He wants me to go for another few sessions to make sure everything is ok. So if there is anyone who is on the fence about accupuncture, I'd urge you to try it out....it cant hurt! Anyone else out there swear by accupuncture? Post your story! That's it...thanks for reading! PS...now I can fish without pain...LOL...so I guess it is fishing related after all.....
  16. Nice work fishfinder! Great pic! Keep em coming. You are getting quite the reputation on here...wish I could land them like you do!

  18. Wow...cool video and one ugly fish!!! LOL. Thanks Snag!
  19. Yeah...I have a few Saga albums...In Transit was a great one! Saw them live at Univ of Western Ontario back in the late 80's....not billed as saga...it was the singer, keyboardist and guitarist. They played Saga tunes all night though.
  20. Nice report and pics. Your wife looked less than impressed in that first pic though...LOL. The smiles on your faces were awesome. Thanks for the report!
  21. Canadian Tire sells fishing licenses....any half decent fishing store will have them too. Make a few calls to make sure though.
  22. That's a great pic of that Walleye!!! Can almost hear him saying "C'mon now...put me back in the water...it's c-c-c-cold out here!!!" hehe. Awesome service you are providing with these ice reports!
  23. Some great bands mentioned in here...I gotta pull out my Kansas stuff!!!
  24. Nice work! Checked it out and it worked just fine. Using Windows XP, Firefox 5.0 Took me a bit to figure out what happened when I clicked on a link when the map wasn't visible...had to scroll up to see it... Only suggestion would be to have the page auto scroll to the top once you click on a link below. Great work!
  25. Great report GCD! Looked like you had the fish choreographed in some cool dance moves there...hehe. Thanks for the report...I cant wait until spring...gonna hit -20 later this week here.....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
