The first winter storm of the season will approach southern Ontario overnight as it moves northeast from the Ohio Valley. A swath of snow will extend well ahead of the storm overnight across Lake Huron to cottage country and east to Ottawa with rain falling south of this line across regions near the lower lakes. The rain will become mixed with ice pellets and then turn to snow by early Thursday morning across the Golden Horseshoe area to Kingston as temperatures Gradually drop below the freezing mark..With the possibility that near 2 centimetres of snow will fall by Thursday morning except for regions located in the Dundalk Highlands where 5 centimetres are likely. Regions located close to Lake Erie will see primarily rain overnight before changing over to snow later Thursday morning. Freezing rain is a possible during this change from rain to snow. Hence it may be a slippery commute for many on Thursday morning Through southwestern Ontario..The Golden Horseshoe..And areas along Lake Ontario. The storm is set to slide south of the lower Great Lakes on Thursday during the day before making its way to the eastern seaboard by Thursday night. Widespread snow is expected to fall across southern Ontario on Thursday with the snow gradually tapering off to flurries from west to east during the day. At this time..Total snowfall accumulations of near 5 centimetres are possible over southwestern Ontario with 10 to 15 centimetres of snow possible from the Dundalk Highlands to near Ottawa. It should be emphasized that the majority of the snow will be moisture-laden and may melt quickly when it first falls. The amount of accumulating Snow will depend on how warm the ground temperatures will be.. Especially on paved surfaces. In general higher accumulations of snow will occur over grassy surfaces and higher terrain. Environment Canada will continue to monitor the development of the winter storm. As more information becomes available the statement will be revised. Listen for further statements. Additional information may also be found by consulting the latest public forecast. The next public forecast will be issued by 5 AM. ================================================================ UPDATE TO SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT..... 11:57 AM EST Wednesday 21 November 2007 ..10 to 20 centimetres of snow likely by Thursday night.. An approaching winter storm from Missouri will bring the first winter storm of the season tonight and Thursday. Many regions extending from Lake Huron east to the Dundalk Highlands is currently seeing rain but as the temperature falls to near freezing the rain will quickly change over to wet snow and ice pellets this afternoon and then snow tonight. Near 10 centimetres of snow is expected to fall tonight with an additional 10 centimetres to follow on Thursday. Higher snow amounts are expected to fall over higher terrain. Regions across eastern Ontario including Ottawa have already received snow from a previous disturbance and will continue to see snow fall tonight and into Thursday. Total snowfall amounts near 15 centimetres by Thursday night are possible as the winter storm slowly moves east across the lower lakes tonight into New England by Thursday night. The greater Toronto area will be very close to the southern edge of the heavy snow but is still expected to receive significant amounts of snow mixed with ice pellets. Depending on how much ice pellets form at the expense of the snow current snowfall estimates over the greater Toronto area is 5 to 10 centimetres tonight with an additional 5 to 10 centimetres Thursday. Regions close to the lake may see lesser amounts due to warmer temperatures along the lakeshore. For further detail over the rest of southern Ontario please read the special weather statement released by Environment Canada.

I saw an episode of American Justice...there was a guy who had that exact stuff in his car who was never caught....they think he fled to Canada... Oh wait...forget it.... You dont have any issues with me do you?
-
Very cool...looked like it missed the lure and sliced the line with it's fangs!
-
With the temps the way they are I wouldn't see why not. If it was 30 celsius I'd leave the thing alone. That being said, I assume no responsibility on the condition of the meat should you consume it....LOL.
-
Yep...medium heavy is my preference, but I have used medium with some success as well.
-
Very cool footage! A friend of mine was on a company trip in the Vegas area and they paid for each employee to go for a ride in high speed jets. He has video of the whole thing...they did the same kinds of things...people passed out, puked etc..... He'd do it again in a heartbeat!! I think it cost $800 per person for about 20 minutes in the air.
-
Wow!! That guys head could fit in that things mouth...LOL.
-
That's a great deal! Have fun with the thing....and if you're ever in my neck of the woods, feel free to clear my driveway whenever you want. Free hot coffee inside when you're done....hehe.

When this year began, I had literally a few cheap spinning combos. This year marked my first full year of fishing, so even though we didn't spend a TON of money, I did my fair share of shopping.... Fishing Rods - 12.5' Shimano Convergence for hunting steelhead - 7 foot medium/heavy Shimano Sojourn for shore salmon fishing - I got this Shimano trolling rod with an Okuma reel for my birthday. Boat Stuff You may recall that Basskicker gave us this sweet canoe! So I went out and bought this stuff because well...I'm lazy...LOL In October, we purchased our first fishing boat...a 14 foot tinny with 18hp Merc. That about covers it for major purchases....next year will be an expensive year though...getting our boat all decked out to our liking.... All the stuff has worked out great! I broke the Sojourn in the car door...so cant blame them for that one. New one is on it's way though.

Well, after getting thoroughly spanked at Quinte this past weekend, Bly and I went out tonight trying to catch some fish. With the little rain we got last night we wondered if some Steelies would be hanging around the creek mouths. We headed out at around 8pm and set up for some bottom fishing with roe. We saw a few people there last week having some luck fishing that way so we thought we'd give it a try. After an hour of no action whatsoever, I decided to warm up a little and began to throw a crank bait. I wasn't paying attention and was talking to Bly when I feel a pretty big hit. I set the hook late thinking there is no way the fish was still there and I heard the drag engage. This fish kept splashing at the surface, but it felt all wrong to be a trout....plus I've never had a hit on a crank before for trout. Anyhow, as it got closer, I realize that I've caught a pretty good sized pike!! Bly expertly nets the fish and it turned out it beat my old personal best for pike by about a pound. This one measured in at 36.5 inches and weighed 11 pounds 1 ounce. Here's the pic....

Because us peons on the board only get 250k to attach...which means only 2 or 3 pics before it says we've run out of attachment space. You guys get unlimited....LOL.

Danimal.... Open an account at www.photobucket.com Upload your pictures there. Copy the image location and paste it right in your report...that way you can post as many images as you want and they wont be that small. If you have any more questions, just let me know! Good luck.

The boat that I have came with a Humminbird 100 fishfinder. It works, but after being on some boats with these fancy GPS/Sonar combos, I can see the advantages! AFter talking with Slowpoke on the weekend about his Lowrance and what to look for, I finally decided to start pricing them. I've been looking primarily at Lowrance, Humminbird and Eagle. Since I'll be fishing relatively shallow Kawartha type lakes, I'm looking at a 200khz model, which from what I understand are better for these types of lakes. I'm also not looking to buy anything top end. Big screens and colour models are nice, but not necessary for me. Does anyone have any experiences with Eagle units? They have a greyscale model on sale on their website right now and wanted some opinions. This unit is compatable with Navionics lake maps, which from what I've read on this board seems to be the standard. This is on sale right now for $349.99 USD....regular $459.99 USD. Here's a link...... http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...hart_fsh_finder Thanks!

That just about sums it up!!!!

Hey there Bojan! Great to hear from you again!! Thanks for the update on how you are doing...I remember my first year of university...I felt the same, but my mother said I had changed quite a bit. At least you are aware of it...LOL. It seems you've found what you want to do with your life and I commend you for your mature approach to it. That bike ride was crazy...I may have been able to do it about 20 years ago, but now I'd kill myself... Take care...keep us updated and best of luck to you!
-
Great report Shelley! Congrats on the fish!! See you at the next G2G.
-
Yes it does Mike....and I think you felt worse about it than Carole did about losing the fish. We've both lost fish at the net....and it will happen again I'm sure.
