Phil... It's part of the graduated licensing for new drivers..... G1 - Must have this for a year and follow all these rules before they can take the test for G2. · maintain a zero blood alcohol level while driving; · be accompanied by a fully licensed driver, who has at least four years driving experience, and a blood alcohol level of less than .05 per cent, in case he/she needs to take over the wheel; · ensure the accompanying driver is the only other person in the front seat; · ensure the number of passengers in the vehicle is limited to the number of working seat belts; · refrain from driving on Ontario's "400-series" highways or on high speed expressways such as the Queen Elizabeth Way, Don Valley Parkway, Gardiner Expressway, E.C. Row Expressway and the Conestoga Parkway; · refrain from driving between midnight and 5:00 a.m. G2 - New drivers must hold a G2 licence for a minimum of 12 months before they can attempt the G2 road test. At this level, you have more privileges because of your driving experience. You may drive without an accompanying driver on all Ontario roads anytime. However, you are still required to: · maintain a zero blood alcohol level while driving; · ensure the number of passengers in the vehicle is limited to the number of working seat belts.

LOL...I'll never forget WKRP in Cincinatti... They had the "I-Witness" weather....where he goes to the window (like you Terry) and witnesses the weather.....
-
Thanks HH....just rechecked sailflow.com and they are now saying 10 knot winds on Saturday and Sunday(down from 15) and the same for Windguru. They both say Saturday night winds going up to 16 knots, then die off to 10 by morning again. Environment Canada's website and The Weathernetwork do not show any snow/ice in their forecasts though.... The weather will be what it will be....watch...it'll be calm winds, 20C....LOL.

Toronto pike shared/solo and The ugly truth about CCMT
ccmtcanada replied to snag's topic in General Discussion
LOL Snag.... At least my dead pike was nicer looking than your dead one from last year! You're just jealous!!! Solopaddler and Snag - I'm always excited to catch a fish....I'm laughing and all giddy deep down inside....VERRRY DEEP. Oh and as for the pike I did catch...it was just a tiny fish....panfish-like. We'd probably catch more fish if you stopped telling me to come and look at what you've found...I tell ya...must have taken 2 hours away from fishing with you looking in every nook and cranny for interesting garbage. They do make interesting pictures though...have to admit that. Those other fish you hid from me are from last years reports.....I checked. We'll do it all over gain soon. -
Nice find Mooseroo! It's a great article to read if you're just getting into trib fishing!
-
Wow...talk about fish porn!!! Great report and awesome pics of those eyes!

Hmmm....better watch your back at Quinte.....hehe.

I always check myself, unless I really know the person. Not that I think anyone here would do this, but even if the conditions were prime in some locations, some may tell you they suck. I know the drive can be a pain, but sometimes you gotta put the legwork in. That being said...the tribs I like to frequent in the east end all suck....LOL. (That's the truth)

Way to go Mo!!! Our first launch was filled with anxious anticipation. The only thing I did wrong was forget the plug....LOL. I now have a checklist for our trips...goes like this.... Before leaving the driveway 1) Check trailer ball to make sure it's in properly and put the padlock on it. 2) Check that the hitch lock is activated 3) Check the safety chains. 4) Check the main strap attached to the boat and safety back up ones. 5) Make sure the lights are plugged in....do a lights check (left and right signal, brakes) 6) Check the transom straps 7) PUT THE PLUG IN (LOL) Before backing up at the launch 1) Take off all straps etc, except for the main one. 2) Unplug the lighting. 3) RECHECK THE PLUG (LOL) Then I do the same list as the driveway one before leaving the ramp. (except that I take the plug out) I'm sure it'll become second nature, but I make sure I do all these things for now. The backing up thing is getting better for me...I even took it to a vacant parking lot to practice moving around. Congrats on the maiden voyage!! The first of many!

Hey Kevin! We inquired about this last year with Advanced Taxidermy (Caledon). For a replica they need: Length Girth Weight Photos are primarily for colouration of the fish. Just a few pics of the entire fish is all they need. If there are distinguising marks on the fish...like scars etc, they suggest a pic of that area. As far as cost is concerned, 300 to 500 may be a bit conservative. Bly caught a 32", 15 pound Walleye last year and estimates we got were somewhere between 600 and 900 bucks depending on what it's mounted on. Most places we talked to quoted by the inch....and a trophy walleye will be 30+ inches. Talk to DTSam when you're in Quinte....his place is doing Taxidermy now....they are located in Belleville.

I've seen his workshop and tried out his baits. We were catching largie after largie on his senkos!!! I wouldn't have though plastics would work on the tribs, but after seeing these, if anyone can make one that'll work it's Basskicker!

Wow Meely....that was impressive!

How was your year fishing the Kawarthas?
ccmtcanada replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Ummm...no I wasn't, but after going back and counting the trips, I guess we did get out quite a bit. If we had our own boat all season long, we'd have been out there even more....LOL.
