  1. What a fantastic video report! Looks like you guys had a blast out there...and you caught some nice fish to boot! I gotta tell you iceguy, I've really enjoyed your video reports this season.
  2. Wow...what a great message! Thanks for posting that Beans. It's great that all the fun we have that day can really help someone out. Tyler can count on our support again next year!
  3. Count me in to captain a team TJ.
  4. Tsk tsk tsk....taking your eye off your float...I can see it in the pic....LOL. It was well worth it though...you don't see that every day!! I suspect any fish that were in the area may have been a little spooked if it splashed a lot. I was fishing an area last spring, when a dog jumped in the water....about 2 seconds later, I saw about 20 steelhead zoom by me...LOL.
  5. Great stuff! They are calling for a wetter and cooler spring than normal....sounds like prime steelhead weather if you ask me!!!
  6. Hey...that' was cool! I've bookmarked that one so I can stare at it when I'm bored at work...LOL
  7. I haven't had any lamprey marks yet this year...but I'm sure I'll start seeing them if others are.
  8. EXCELLENT pics! Looking forward to you adding to those this upcoming season!!!
  9. Very cool UF!!! Looks like you'll be fishing in a little more comfort this year....with some nice little extras!
  10. Great stuff Paulus! Before catching a few steelies recently, I hadn't caught one since November....WAYYY too long! I have a feeling the spring run will be a good one. All this snow this winter will bring water levels back up to almost...if not normal.
  11. Nice work Snag!!! Great to see these reports again.... They'd have to be pretty much a mile down to be as deep as Neils lyrics though....LOL
  12. Sweet! Great job out there...it's always a rush to fight a steelie in closed quarters!
  13. Call around to your local tackle stores. Gagnon's in Oshawa sells it both loose as well as pre tied in sacs.
  14. Hey Brian...just glad to hear you are ok! Life is life, and only you know what feels right for you. I just hope you still check in from time to time!!!
  15. Is this primarily for ice fishing or just overall recreation? I'd probably go with the ATV....use it year round.
  16. Welcome to the board! It really is a great place to waste...I mean spend some time. Looking forward to some of your reports!
  17. Great news Shawn! Hopefully everything is ok with it and any insurance claim that has to be made goes smoothly! I had my side window smashed, car stereo, golf clubs, baseball gear etc stolen. I found out after work (it was parked at a TTC parking lot). I filed a police report at around 6pm. The next morning at 8 I got a call from 42 Division, saying that they had my stuff and to come in to identify it. By 10am the next morning, I had all my stuff back! Apparently they broke into 5 cars, stole a bunch of stuff and then broke into another car and stole it. They stopped the stolen vehicle and voila...all the stuff they stole was in there.
  18. Was I the only one thinking about Bugs Bunny and the whole "I knew I should have made that left at Albuquerque"? when he was tunnelling thru the snow??
  19. Yep...minimum is 21 inches. Mine was 28 and Blys second fish was 25.
  20. Spoken like a true friend....LOL
  21. Jeff...that's great that you knew the signs and that you were watching it! Even better that you did something about it.
  22. Standard float setup should be fine. I usually start using roe, but always have a variety of jigs and flies as well. Good luck out there! Be careful on any trib over the next few days...with the rain, and melt off from the warm temps, water conditions can change within minutes. I've been fishing before and then suddenly notice that the water seems "louder"...then take a look and see the levels rise quickly.
  23. Wow! You sure do your homework and it really shows in your results! Amazing report...felt like I was watching a documentary of the trip!
  24. I believe the translation is Lake of the Thousand Lakes. And Glen...I don't remember asking you about burbot. LOL.
  25. Wow!! Some great eyes in those pics!! Great to see you out fishing...and the catching thing is a pure bonus. I had to google burbot...interesting looking fish to say the least! See, OFC is educational...I'd never heard of one before...LOL
