  1. Tanks must be reinspected after 10 years and revalved. The best suggestion I have for you is to take them to a swap station and grab the two newest dated tanks that you can find in the rack. (around $20/tank swap) As for empty vs full.. nothing worse than a completely empty tank sitting around. If air gets in it...it will have to be purged before refilling with propane. Then with these nice new 20lb ones on hand... you have a few winters of refilling 1 pounders ahead of you!! LOL
  2. Have a great day my dear !
  3. Merc can't tell them apart unless he sees their tail... Nice overview Fidel !!!
  4. The smile says it all !!
  5. Turn your key on and push it in ... you should hear the electric choke click.. If that works, you should be good to go.. Try what I posted and let us know how it goes!
  6. Beautiful Tyler !!! Well everything but those "plane swatters" on the ridge top !
  7. See above and try it again..
  8. Dave.. hit edit.. then "use full editor".. scroll down to bottom where it says options.. click that and select HTML On - Auto Breakline
  9. Mine when cold... shift lock out button pushed in.. throttle to about 1/3.. crank while pushing the key in / out /in /out (electric choke) and it will fire. Then the odd tap of choke.. throttle back to about 1/4 or less until it warms up a bit. Determined that start protocol after many almost killing battery starts. Common issue with 4 strokes... pull starting can be a nightmare if you don't know the exact throttle position for starting. Found that out the hard way on a 30HP Evinrude that Temagami Marine loaned me the fall of 2006. Almost had a heart attack before I got that running... The same deal in my '69 Bee... I could leave the key in the ignition as nobody else could start it when cold! Oh.. and BTW.. if the red light comes on on a merc it means there isn't any oil pressure. Unlike Honda's that light, their green light, when there is oil pressure.
  10. Don't worry Don... we won't hold knowing Gerritt against you....
  11. I don't think these fellas have a "bulk barn" around the corner lads!
  12. I just had a $3750 x 60 lb Lycoming crank shaft sent USPS from MA. $90.55 insured. I couldn't put gas in my truck to Buffalo for that... Sure, if you have nothing better to do than make weekly trips to NY with the family, go for it. But remember you're not actually allowed anything of value on a day trip, other than the cheap gas in your fuel tank!
  13. She'll still be there Albert.. don't you worry about that.. now get your friggin elbows off the table !!!!
  14. Great to see you keeping yourself occupied Albert... Billy Bob already posted it today! Glad all went well today.... tomorrow will be a real special Sunday dinner.
  15. Drew's still out doing cartwheels... just got a report he was thru Stittsville and on his way to Carp... lol
  16. I have one, as does my son Brian. This is the one I have... I believe my son's is a Fluke.
  17. 28's on sale yesterday...
  18. That was the install picture in 2007. I did it so we could have shore lunch, or grill some burgers, without going to shore in the back bays of Temagami... or when camping in the boat. Stove is completely over the side and works very well. I get liquid flames when I overfill the 1 lber though...
  19. Considering Propane lives between -306 and -44F Paul... I'm sure it would do a great job!! The easiest way to lose your propane licence is to have TSSA catch you filling without gloves on !
  20. Amazing what you can pull out of a culvert!! lol Nice shootin..
  21. He does good to even have a phone ! LOL Nice old '50's style shop.... walk in the door and ring the desk bell on the old flip top walk thru counter to get his attention in the back.
  22. At least you've got it working now Shurik. I've got an old style starter rebuild "shop" down the road from me... I haven't stumped him yet in 25 years, giving him everything from a Zetor tractor to an Airplane starter. He, and his father before him, always makes them work.... with usually a complete rebuild for under $50.
  23. Even with a switch installed... there is still something amiss in the wiring or items hooked to the battery if it's going dead in 3 days. You say only electric start, lights and bilge. No stereo, No fish finder?? No fish finder/GPS network?? Networks get wired for power and many make the mistake of doing so direct or before the master switch. They drain continuously. Electric postive ion downriggers.. constant output unless you unhook them. Electric choke... is it getting a bit of power thru a corroded ignition switch or choke button? Billy Bob has the right idea considering how few things you have that can be easily disconnected at one time. Another item it could be is a bad diode in your voltage regulator.. allowing power to drain in reverse flow through a leaky diode. Again.. something that can be isolated by simply disconnecting the wires.
  24. Cooked or uncooked.. it's been frozen the entire time (well I hope it has). No different than all the other items that get "lost" in a big chest freezer. I'd hate to know how old some of those items where that I ate out of my mothers 8' chest freezer, or for that matter what is in our own.
  25. I grew up in a butcher shop.. I'm grandfathered... and have the scars to prove it!
