My old 9.8 Merc has a thermostat just before the pee hole... have a peek and see if you have one. Could be all it is... at first fire the warmth of the day had it open... then cold water thru it closed it back up. Other option... was the impellor you took out beat? Had a marina change my Honda impellor in 2005.. and it pee'd worse afterwards than it did before the change. Small pieces of rubber stuck in various spots in the system.

Very true Bernie.. this was a recent $2700 bill and also a ran red light hit similar to Radar's. Looked like a $32 signal light and a small crack in the bumper. Instead bumper was bent behind the cover and the grill support/headlight holder frame was snapped beside the inboard edge of the headlight. EDIT: won't let me upload pics for some reason... server returned an error..

Caution.. nail polish remover in many cases = acetone.. which isn't plastic friendly. Try BBQ lighter fluid or pocket lighter fluid.... it's a great cleaner for vinyl floors and acrylic aircraft windshields. Try it on the 'wizzes.
