  1. 38.. I have a favourite letter tooo...
  2. ...no longer rents any ice huts, unless they bought some new ones this year. Sold them all in 2010
  3. Thanks Chris.. my CD's are in the boat! Gives me some listening before heading for the city.
  4. Trade yah Terry... I'll go do your work, you go where I'm goin! ;O)

  5. Good to see you got out for your fix Dave... looking at the 14 day forecast there'll be a lot of tears from Simcoe fisherpeople!
  6. Why... you don't need a gun to hunt?
  7. I use the 102C off the bow of my boat for ice fishing. You can pick a used one up on Ebay for less than $200... $35 for a water proof case to hold the batteries and a RAM mount! All in less than $300.
  8. The good old days... sitting on the inner wheel well changing spark plugs!!
  9. MAN.. where is the LIKE button on this one!!
  10. They only need to move one parking spot Terry.. 2 guys.. change belts.. you'd go broke running to the bank for change!
  11. Already a few posts about it Alex if you poke around a bit! Be cautious... 45K west wind tomorrow. Can't wait to drive to Owen Sound again in that!
  12. I had one go bad this summer... worked one day and dead the next. Luckily I had a pair from when they recalled what I had in the boat and didn't ask for the old ones back. BPS and Cabellas both have a wide selection to match what you have.. or at least they did. Look for a product number on yours and type it into Google.
  13. Once they go.. they go. Just make sure your lever is actually hitting the adjustable screw on the top of the pedestal.. or should I say not pressing it all the time which = no lock in place. Pull the seat off.. and see if it extends.
  14. GRT... They might do 40 holes on Lake Simcoe next week... but useless where you are my friend!
  15. How many of these are you using at a time?
  16. Absolutely lovely product on Aluminum... I use it between my telescopic tubes on my canoe loader! Keeps them lubed and stops the aluminum from galling on each other and seizing. If you're allergic to wool... be careful where you spray the stuff!
  17. Sinker's idea of Penetrant is a good one as well! If it's really bad work some Liquid Wrench in there and once you get it moving clean up the ends and then hit it with some of what I suggested. In some applications I like to get some multi lube in.. and then coat the outside with something a little heavier like extreme pressure grease to seal the lube in and keep the elements out.
  18. Probably because you used WD-40.. it is not a lubricant no matter what they say, it's a cleaner. Some light lubricant on the cable at each end and work back and forth. CTC multipurpose lube works well for lots of things Product #38-1525-8 .. I keep guys airplane control surfaces working well with same!
  19. Don't worry Drew... those Valley bars will be emptying soon... and the ER filling up!
  20. Not exactly how anyone would like to see a year go out... Brendan R. lost his battle late this afternoon. . The bravest young man I've ever had the honour of meeting and getting to known. I surely hope that I never have to meet another in the same situation! Rest in Peace young man, 19 is way too young no matter the reason.
  21. Sharpen your blades Chris! Good to see you're having fun Dave!!!
  22. Wanna see the pictures??? Drew.. Thanks for the tear my unlikely friend from Perth!! You had another wonderful year on the water..... and some wonderful family time with them lovable gals! .. once I have some dates for Jen's skull surgery, I'll be trying to put together another Feb trip to the great White North, if you can find the time!
  23. Just like every year... just when the ice starts to get usable in the Sound, the need one more boat load of oats, to make porridge at AGM, comes in!! NEWS RELEASE Midland Bay Icebreaking Operations to begin January 1, 2013. MIDLAND, Ontario – The Canadian Coast Guard in partnership with the United States Coast Guard and the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have an important safety message for all ice-surface users of the outer areas of Midland Bay and areas heading out to Giants Tomb island. Icebreaking operations will begin in Midland Bay the morning of January 1, 2013. USGCS Mobile Bay will be providing icebreaking assistance to the bulk carrier Frontenac. The operations are expected to conclude January 5, 2013. The broken and fragmented icy track left behind by the ice breaker may not freeze. Remember, any ice on the route should be considered unsafe during and after icebreaking operations, and the Coast Guard advises everyone to stay clear. The attached “Course Awareness Charts” illustrate the route into Midland Harbour taken by the ships. All ice surface users in the Georgian Bay area should review the charts, which indicate where users can expect disrupted and unstable ice conditions from icebreaking activity. Public service announcements are made prior to impending icebreaker activity and are made for the safety of all ice- surface users.
