I had one exactly like that. I think my neighbour gave it to me. My brothers friend offered to buy me lunch in return for the reel. I kind of wish I didn't trade it..
I always had a peek at that one when I was in Greg and Tims shop.
I've got a Sienna 500 as well. I bought 1 in the summer for my ultra light, and then purchased another one for ice fishing, love this reel, really smooth, no problems and reasonably priced at 35-40 bucks.
If you have the 10 foot hose you don't need the filter. I have a regular buddy. For my Eskimo Yukon style. You will be sweating even with that thing on low. Especially with the tc. It will make the "ground" in the hut like soup.
I just purchased the Eskimo Quickflip 2. I love it. Fits my father and me perfect we've pulled it all over simcoe. 2 person flip over fixed in sled. Check it out. It's a few hundred bucks cheaper than the Clam and really no difference. Sets up quick, and folds down quick.
Good job, but I won't lie to you. I've always caught my fish on the most basic harnesses. 1 blade, 4-5 small beads. Single flashy colours. Gold, silver, blue, chartreuse.
Not to be an ass or anything but wouldn't it be easier to pull your truck and trailer out of your spot to load up the sled? noone is going to leave a good parking spot behind your trailer. You're taking up at least 2 spots with your truck and trailer. Leaving a spot behind your trailer is taking up 3 spots. That's not fair! haha.
Hey guys someone asked about the magic jack in another post.
what I have to say about it is the best choice my family has made in a while says my old man.
We payed 29.95 for the device it took 5 minutes to set up. it was 10.68 to get a canadian number
comes with caller i.d. call waiting, voicemail, call forwarding, unlimited long distance in the us and canada.
so from $80 dollars a month to $20 dollars a year. Quite a good savings if you ask me.
I had a reel loaded up with fluoro line and I noticed that it started to dry out and become a whitish colour and then everytime I'd tie a knot it would snap, and become frayed. It became very frail.
I am guilty of buying all the junk, and I still will. I like having new stuff and I like visiting the bait shop to see whats new and whats working. As for ice fishing. "If it can fit down the hole, it'll go down! So I like to use the cheapest stuff for that!
Went trout fishing this past summer with two rods. One loaded with 4lb mono the other loaded with 4lb fluoro. The fluoro rod definitely outfished the mono rod. I don't know if this was just coincidence or if the fluoro helped. But Iknow I definitely won't be trout fishing without fluoro anymore...
Hi guys, I'm looking for a this really sweet tip up I saw on Lake Simcoe yesterday these guys were using them and I asked where he got them and he showed me the phone number of the guy who made them. You use your own rod on it and there is a spring around the fulcrum and your rod it was made of wood and folded down pretty easy, and you could see the slightest nudge.
I was wondering if anyone knew who this guy is that makes them or if the guy that was using them is on the board. Because I'd like to get a couple of them
I kind of drew up a picture of what it looks like.
Also which do you prefer? A Tip-up or a tip-down?
Anyone have any good ways to make a tip down.
Pictures?
