  1. 38 years ago I was the Madhuskie of the week at Mich. Tech.
  2. Congrats IF, finding and fixing the valve issue is icing on the cake. It took me a month to get a stripped lug nut off of a minivan and the joy when it comes off is unexplainable.
  3. I thought you were talking about these guys...
  4. Fished from the Ambassador Bridge to F Isle yesterday and got 3 walleye, 3 large smallmouth and 3 silver bass. The silvers came just north of F Isle. The water is still really cold for this time of year.
  5. Here's my hunt at http://drdownriveroutdoors.blogspot.com/
  6. Did you pour a little mixed gas in the carb after pumping the bulb? If it starts then it's either a carb problem or the supply line. I was having starge problems before and a new bulb and line fixed me up. I can pick you up in LaSalle and head over to the Salt Mine if you get desperate.
  7. Couldn't you just pour concrete for footins and gravel the rest of the floor? If cost is the issue that would be the way to go.
  8. I guess it's true. You start to look like the fish you catch.
  9. The red meat is just blood. Fish have open circulatory systems. The heart pumps blood from head to the tail and the blood makes it's way to the skin and heads back to the heart. That's why bleeding out the fish makes the flesh whiter.

Here are good sites for you. http://bowfinanglers.com/ http://www.wiscfish.org/fishid/ : for most all freshwater fish in the Great Lakes area.
  11. Could have been arrested for impersonating a urinator.
  12. This is the largest pike I've seen. Good luck.
  13. Is that why the female barmaids have beards?
  14. Don't worry, they're just cleaner spiders.
  15. The feds are in charge of cormorants here in the US and the cormorant lovers are using their influence to stop any control. Essentially there are no cormorants in lakes Huron, St. Clair or Erie because they have no records of sightings. To help change this everyone should go to the form on the DNRE web site (http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/cormorantobs/) and report any cormorants you observe. Read more at Michigan-Sportsman.com: Cormorant Eat Perch - Page 2 - The Michigan Sportsman Forums http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=355694&page=2#ixzz15Z6dvyFj Here are pics of a cormorants stomach full of perchies.
  16. Great fish. You didn't describe the hit. Usually with the bondy bait the hits are violent.
  17. Nice fish MoeMoe! Were you by the Thames or the Belle?
  18. A: palomar knot B: Surgeon's knot ( make a long loop and make an overhand knot then do it again. So 2 wraps with the end line then tighten. 1 loop and the knot slips, 2 loops and the knot stays where it's at. Practice a little so the loop isn't too large, even so with a 3 ft leader the fish won't notice.)
  19. Wow those are some beauties!
