  1. Australia, then the amazon to get them out of the way. Then off to all the Canadian places I have dreamed of.
  2. Hope the pig and lamb taste good! My friends were there last weekend for a muskie and walleye 4 day trip. I asked him how it went and he said the the food and beer were great.
  3. Don't ignore the inside weed edges if the sun is up. It's a tough time of the year on the Kawarthas, but could be great if you hit the right days. You won't get the bass numbers that you would get in the middle of July.
  4. Yes, watch the rocks, they come up out of nowhere. I fished the lake twice in the last two years, my first times, and have decided to give up on the lake. So many great looking spots that produce nada. I put in long days trying to figure it our, but still came up empty. I think that the walleye like the evening and into night. The smallies must not like rocks?????? Hope you have better luck than I did.
  5. That's a good looking fish. I have only caught a tiny one down in the Florida Everglades.
  6. That looks like a rather large chain pickerel Roy or is that the normal size?
  7. I was expecting a bunch of smallies, but it looks like most of them were largemouth. That's a crazy video!
  8. I agree with drifter. I had the exact thing happen to my yamaha a few years back. Finally torn it apart myself and found a small sliver of rubber preventing the needle to seat properly. It was also inconsistant. Threw it back together and no problem. Just make sure you reset all adjustments to the correct settings.
  9. The Top Bass Classic isn't until next weekend, but it will still be very busy out there. Be careful with all those boaters running around. Early mornings and evenings will be everyone's best bet for fishing. The lake usually doesn't heat up until about 11:00 am.
  10. Pigeon has definitely been tourney'd out this year. Two back to backs on consecutive weekends in July, twilights, private ones and probably more.
  11. Everyone wants a private lake Can't see them setting a precedent with Dalrymple.
  12. Just noticed the prices while out at lunch. I'm with you on this rant!
  13. They just don't think anyone else is out on the lake. Selfishness. Glad no one was hurt in either incident, that kind of crash never ends on a good note.
  14. They like the deep water also, some are deep water oriented. Go with a weighted wacky rig, tube jig or drop shot, especially on the deep side of any weeds. They might also like a crankbait.
  15. We have one of those in Lindsay every year, but no where near those numbers.
  16. I need one of those for the Emerald Island Tourney. Nice fish

    new rod?

    I love my Crucials.
  18. I have never used one on mine and have never had a problem in twenty years or more. I would probably use one if it was all wired through the boat though. So if it's simple transom mount, I'm sure you would be fine until you can get one rigged up. I will not be held responsible for any damages that might occur from my comments.
  19. Gasoline in a stove????? I don't really know much about burning naptha other than I remember my parents using it when we went camping as a kid back in the 60's. I don't know if I would ever feel comfortable using regular gas in a stove system.
  20. Glad you got the net. It's best to keep the hooks as far away as possible. I remember using a cradle for a year and everytime I slid a fish in it I was expecting it to thrash and hook me back. Scary in my books. My friend has the Boca with the long handle, but still too close for me. Those large muskie nets let the fish rest and they tend to be quieter with the net around them in the water. Use extra long needle nose pliers if you can get at the hooks or cutters when you can't get at them and remove them safely. I don't like leaving hardware in the fishes mouth. The only time the fish comes out of the water is for a quick picture. Man some of you are hard on others!
  21. Keep the same kind going. When I go to Canadian Tire to buy plugs for my toyota they give me the wrong ones. The Toyota takes double electrode plugs and the Canadian Tire ones don't have them. The best bet I guess would be to go to a Merc dealer and bring the plugs.
  22. Congrates!
  23. I would stick with the same type plug if they worked fine for all those years.
  24. I don't know about mono being better on baitcasters. The birdsnests with mono most always end up being cut out for me. The backlash with braid comes out much easier for me and I'm assuming it's because of the coarseness of braid compared to mono now allowing the backlash to go as deep. Gary's remedy works best for me also.
