Obviously a successful fishing trip if you are already planning for next year. It is very addictive to fish wilderness areas that hold lots of fish. Nice looking catches!

Manitouwabing for 9 days!

I agree, their boats are a little over kill for the Kawarthas. What a waste of money.

There are some seals and bearing in the front of your differential that can go. I just replaced my rear end on a Ranger for $300, which was much less than the garage wanted to charge me. A minimum of $1500, but I know it would have been more when they got into brakes. So rear brakes and a diff from the wreckers all for less than $500. Car repairs can drive you nuts! I feel for you.

What's my wife doing with a storm trooper?????

I have met kids that have never been to the city and experienced such things as the subway. It works both ways.

Interesting seeing how the other fish react or don't react!

Help with my Truck Value (trading in or selling)
jimmer replied to Steve's topic in General Discussion
I have been looking for a truck over the last 3 weeks and am amazed at what people ask for junk. I would list it on kijiji for $3000 and say your still driving it, then take whatever you feel comfortable with. Doesn't cost anything to list it, so no loss on your part. -
I live on Pigeon and it's very tough in the fall to be honest. Yes, you can hit a good day, but things really changed a few years back when the zebra mussels cleared the water up.

I could never really understand these things when they came out? Give the fish a chance when fun fishing. I guess I can see the use of them in a tourney, but why work so hard to catch a fish for fun? I was watching a tourney on TV the other day and the guy that won was throwing one that looked like it had eight hooks on it. Sometimes the fish were hooked in the side.

Be careful about sharing educational materials with the schools. The government doesn't take kindly to this. Not sure if schools are operating in the summer months though. All other gifts are kindly accepted. There is an area to the far side of the beach that isn't built up and looks good for fishing. You can also get a bike and travel a little on the island to find a bridge to fish off of. I saw a local catch a nice fish off of a bridge. That was heading farther into the island around the where you go on the speedboat (lol) rentals that include snorkelling. Wish I had a line with me when I did that. Nice area, bring some hot sauce or something to help the food.

Good luck. I just got back from our Quebec trip that was north of Kipawa. It was awesome and the scenery was beautiful. No shortage of fish either. You will have a blast!!!

I like milfoil also, but when it covers the whole lake, it is a problem for boating. That skunk weed took over very quickly in areas that used to have milfoil on Pigeon and then no fish in those areas during the day. The milfoil has made a come back in some of those areas.

LOL. I have a high speed camera!

Just checked the top bass site and there is a tourney on the Sunday also.

He got a ticket. The officer called him and he had to meet with the officer at which point he was given the ticket. The person took his registration number to report whatever the issue was. I'm not saying my kid is innocent or guilty, just wondering how this works. So like kickingfrog said, I am going to be taking the numbers of those bass boats that pass me at full throttle within 20 yards. That scares the heck out of me. I really won't, but just saying!

They get rid of the milfoil and then some other weed takes over. It's a losing battle in my experience. One of those weeds is that stinky bottom weed that can grow to the surface and you can never drive through it with a motor.

There is a Top Bass tournament on the Tri Lakes this weekend. Pigeon will get pounded on the Saturday, you might want to find another destination. The fishing has been a little tough, with mostly smaller fish being caught. However, this might be the weekend that the bigger fish start biting. There is another launch right on the other side of the river beside the bridge.

It was my son's ticket. He was out on his jet ski (yes, I hate them) and someone in a kayak complained about him. I don't really know the particulars and told him to go to the JP.

Super Dad: Have you been to the OFAH office lately? You would think it was a government office by the looks of it. I choose not to be a member, because they don't take any kind of a stand when it really counts. Yes, I'm generalizing. But I think back to how quiet they were when the spring bear hunt was cancelled. Seniors paying for fishing licences is a money grab.

Do water infraction tickets given to people based on a complaint from another civilian stand up in court? Police did not witness any of the action that lead to the complaint. Just curious. Thanks

Yet, they have no catch and release laws in some European countries. Catch and Kill that's it! Why, because someone determined that it is cruel to torture a fish by catching it, then releasing it to do it all over again. Obviously they thought fish feel pain. At least they didn't ban fishing outright.

They twist your line like crazy. Troll them using a baitcaster.

There is always the strong possibility that they are being taken to sell at a market.

You're a lucky dude! That's equals the number of walleye I have caught since opening down here.
