I remember quite a few years ago a guy named Mike Murphy was run out of town only to have a fairly could remainder to his career with the Wings. The team stinks, it's not just one or a few players. Can't help you with where to rent, but when I was there they warned me about corrupt police that targeted rental cars. Watch out for the crazy drivers. LOL

I don't think I would attend a Leaf game even if given the tickets for free; even though they are like an addiction (I was shaking my head last night, asking myself why I was watching the game LOL). The leaf jerseys being thrown on the ice is directed at management in my opinion. They put this team together. I can't figure out what the coaches and management see in Phanuef that most others can't. He would be better with less minutes and not playing against the other team's top line, yet that's exactly what they do.

They are built for US Tournament Pros and people with too much money. Like some else said, I catch plenty of bass out of my 14' smokercraft; and what they use in a day for gas would last me a whole month.

I'm another one that won't freeze whitefish. The taste gets stronger and not as enjoyable. I also make sure I take off the dark fat deposit between the skin and the fillet. You can try BBQ on a cedar plank with your favourite spices, maybe a little hot pepper jelly spread on the fillet.

That tip up is the best for whities. Wouldn't go for them without one in my box.

I live south of there and the lake has gotten very busy over the last few years. Fishing is still good. The rice beds are expanding every year and some in your area are complaining big time. The one area to really watch for is on the west side, north of you and it's called three sister shoals and is marked.

The night bite for walleye is none existent in 30 feet of water. You will get ling at night though. The best walleye bite is 9-10am and 3-4pm, however they do come though during the day also. I have fish at Idle Tyme for the last7 or so years.

They should leave them closed. They will get abused/overharvested whatever.. However, it might be a good way for the MNR to make extra $$$$.

I received an e-mail from facebook the other day saying I was randomly selected to win a portion of some crazy amount of cash, all I had to do was provide all my personal information. I cried for a moment then hit delete!

A new minn kota all terrain if they still make them (not the electronic foot peddle). A couple deep cycle batteries thrown in with it. However, I already have the perfect wife that never questions my fishing decisions (that's how I see it anyways. LOL).

Insurance companies giving a discount rate????? LOL I don't like the idea of the Government controlling our ability to make decisions anymore than they already do. I believe that winter tires are much safer and both my vehicles have them and they make a huge difference. That family living in poverty and barely managing to keep a vehicle on the road should not be forced to buy winter tires; hopefully they choose not to drive in extreme bad weather. Just my thoughts.

I don't feel that we can necessarily get too comfortable with the low prices here in Ontario, the carbon tax is looming like a dark cloud.

So true BillM. I hate when these great prospects get buried on crappy teams; what a waste. Sure you see some success once in awhile, on teams such as the Penguins and Hawks. The Oilers built their team wrong and will have to trade some of their stock to get some all round players to compliment the skilled guys. That being said, they will probably turn it around tomorrow.

HH, muskie vary so much in size from one body of water to another, who could possibly know. I would have to say a 52"+ fish in the kawarthas is getting near the end of it's life cycle, yet one from Georgian Bay might be in it's prime at that size.

Gardiner just has to remember that he's playing in the big leagues. It looks like he thinks he is still in junior or at college when he makes some of the mistakes. Leafs are 2 points out of first!

Isn't it against the law to catch and release fish in some countries over in Europe? It's all catch and keep to avoid torturing fish. I actually have a neighbour who loves to fish but won't go bass fishing because he won't eat them. He will only fish for panfish or walleye, sometimes lakers. It's always a tough pill to swallow when you see a trophy fish kept, but no one is breaking any laws. Now if they have a freezer full at home, that's a different story.
