I always love how they talk about reducing/balancing the deficit. How about the 200+ billion dollar debt. No level of Government should ever be able to get an unbalanced budget approved.

I worked in the Social Service office for 5 years and would not enjoy living on the income that is provided. The problem is that we hear more about the fraud and "lazy bums" than we do about the other 99% of clients. I quit the job, now second guess myself almost 20 years later with no pension plan. In regards to the Ontario Pension Plan. Got nothing good to say about it when someone thinks they can handle my money better than I can. What a scam. I see job losses and service cuts because of it. I'm not saying that we all don't need more in retirement if you don't have a company pension, but I'm not sure I can handle less income per week to pay my present bills.

No kidding. Most of us would be in jail if we pulled half the stuff they did. Maybe the liberals can govern T.O. and the rest of us can choose another party. However, bigugli is probably right about what we can expect from the other parties.

We have turned into a service based economy that is unsustainable. Therefore, the need to raise taxes, prices and fees. It seems many are okay with this.

I as out bow hunting and sitting very still at ground level. I heard something behind me and slowly turned only to see a coyote standing about 10 feet from me. I just stared at it and then it stared howling, I started to laugh and it took off. That's my closest encounter with one.

This news drives me crazy. Here I am always letting the walleye I catch go back to live another day because of the lower numbers recently. I guess it's time to keep a few when this season opens.

I mentioned it because I used to be the only guy out there in April looking for panfish, a few people would yell at me that the fishing season wasn't open yet, but they didn't really know the regs, it was all about walleye then. Then the crappie moved in and everything changed; I'm lucky to get on one of the spots now. LOL

Just took a walk down to the lock in Lindsay and the walleye are in spawning if anyone wants to have a look. No carp or suckers to be seen. Seems they brought the water up just in time.

Does anyone actually know how many lodges/fishing resorts there are in Ontario? The competition must be overwhelming. I know it's overwhelming when I'm looking for a new place to go.

The Penguins better not win the lottery again. Is that possible? So, I was wondering what other Leaf fans were thinking if Edmonton picked Strome instead of Hanifin? Do they pick Hanifin or go to the next centre man available.

As a leaf fan, it will be a stress free playoffs. AND I won't mind leaving the tube to go fishing! Nice to see so many Canadian teams in this year.

One sold quite a few years ago on Pigeon for over $1 million bucks. It's not even open to the public anymore after the previous owners worked their butts off to get it to where it was. They made the yearly outdoor show trek through the states to promote the resort and it paid off as fishindevil said.

What musky and specks said is what kept me from ever making the decision to own a resort/fish camp. However, it could work if it was very small, just don't know if the revenue would cover the yearly expenses. Working in one might be a good option.
