One for Dunnville Catfishing in April/May (max 3 guests) One for Kawartha Muskies in June-Dec (max 1 guest) Minimum bid is $100 for the cat trip, $125 for the muskie trip. All bait and gear provided for the cat trip Bring your own casting rods for the muskie trip please Beverages provided (water & gatorade) Trips will be all day, sun-up to sundown (unless you prefer a shorter day). Trips also come with a fish guarantee - if we don't catch the target species then a return trip is on me Please post any bids here! Bidding ends Friday February 20th at 9pm. Payment can be made at the FFT event on Saturday, or via e-transfer. Last years trips were a great time - looking forward to taking out some great OFC members and helping out Tyler! Cheers Pete
  2. I think it was his sled for pulling gear in - not a snowmobile that got stolen along with a clam shelter... but that still sucks.
  3. Thanks Adam! porkpie - hope you were nice to her for Valentines day LOL.
  4. Aikman A Sporting Goods Repair Directions Address: 3010 Novar, Mississauga, ON L5B 1S4 Phone:(905) 277-3595 If anyone can has it or can get it, it's probably here...
  5. Sure! PM me details please. 55lb is still a 12V system, correct?
  6. I'll start shopping a kidney around Andy... Would love to hop up to 24V 70lb Terrova with all the bells and whistles. Probably not gonna happen anytime soon. If I can just swap in a Motorguide powerhead with built in transducer for a few hundred bucks that's the route I will probably take... wonder if they could make it into a 55 instead if a 45 at the same time? HMMMMMM LOL
  7. UMMMMMM I don't want to be around for that one! HEADLINE : "Grown man screams like little girl when esox masquinongy bites off more than it can chew"
  8. I wonder how well barf cleans off the vinyl boat floor? Guess I'm gonna find out!
  9. Been doing a bunch of reading today. From what I understand, linking the two GEN 1 units with the ethernet cable will allow the two units to do the following: share waypoints, trails and routes share a single transducer DOES NOT allow you to share a map chip. You still need a chip for both units. (which I have) I may go the single transducer route. My trolling motor (Motorguide Wireless 45) is a PITA to hook up a transducer cable because of the way the shaft slides thru a collar when you stow/deploy it - you can't attach the transducer cable very well to it. If anyone has managed to come up with a solution for this I'm all ears - or if anyone knows if I could upgrade my trolling motor head to have a transducer built in, even better! I am going to call Rocky's in Orillia on Tuesday to see if he can do this and what it would cost. Thanks for all the help, keep it coming! Pete
  10. Nice report Brian and Jer, I missed this one when you posted it! I haven't been perching in a couple years, miss it! Cooks does have some good perch, but it takes some travel... you won't be in with the crowds. Not fun walking there with this years snow. I want to see you do that fish bite (the real bite) with a 10lb+ channel cat this spring...
  11. I used to drive my '92 Acura Integra all over Lake Simcoe - with snow tires - but only when there was very little snow out there. A year like this - forget it.
  12. Both are gen 1 units... Ethernet is the yellow cable? Thanks Pete
  13. I'm a newbie to the HDS world... If I have two units on the boat, front and back, what is required (or is it possible) to do the following: 1) Share GPS/waypoint info 2) Share one transducer (will likely go with 2, transom and trolling motor but just curious) 3) Share one Navionics map chip 4) Transfer my waypoints and trails from my Elite-5 unit to the HDS units Thanks guys Pete
  14. Amazing fish, John sent me that pic when you caught her. True St. Clair beast. And to do it on your only trip of the year - WOW! I may have caught a bunch this year but I certainly put my time in on the water to do so. Glad that you are posting again - love the muskie reports! Pete
  15. Only lost one lure in 2013, a $35 Muskie bucktail... And another in 2014... But Lake of the Woods repaid me for both though in muskie bucks!
  16. Thanks everyone - looking forward to making 2015 an even better season! Mike - looking forward to more time on the Larry this summer! Pete
  17. B I think the 4" Fin-bores are on for $59... Hard to beat that price!
  18. Winter is simply far too long... although I like ice and spring fishing, chasing big muskies is my bread and butter. There's just something about these toothy beasts that drives me. As many of you know, I've been trying hard to get that 50" fish for over ten years now, and 2014 was finally the year that it happened. Twice. The first being an absolutely perfect LOTW specimen, flawless and girthy from tip to tail. I couldn't ask for a nicer fish as my first fifty. The second was an even longer specimen from the St. Lawrence... throw in a few very nice Kawartha fish including a personal best tiger muskie and this was my best season bar none. I didn't come close to the 109 muskies I landed in 2010, but quality certainly made up for it. Enough chatter, here's the pictures. Kawarthas 44" 44" Tiger 45" 45" 46" 48" Lake of the Woods 48.5" 51" St. Lawrence River 53.5" Anyone else wish it was June? Pete
  19. Cleaning house. Some of the current players just can not (or will not) play a defensive style game. I think they should lose every game for the rest of the year (which might happen regardless) and hope for Connor McDavid. I enjoyed watching their high paced score a ton style, but on nights where their goalies were just average, they would lose.
  20. Cool - let's get the auction rolling and raise some money for a great kid!
  21. All hand augers are on sale at SAIL in Oshawa right now... 20% off... They have the best prices on Fin-bores anyways, regular $99.99 for an 8" - so you can grab one right now for $80! I think they also had 4" and 6" Fin-Bores for even cheaper.
  22. My son's iphone 4S resides at the bottom of the Grand River... At least it happened at the end of a great day of catfishing... I had a whitefish flopping around the hut flick a half dozen lures down the 10" hole... Served me right for leaving them all over the place!
  23. I have the same hut Mike, but the non-insulated one. Same feeling here, been pretty happy with it. You mentioned pouring water when screwing in the anchors - does this make it easier to screw in or is there some other advantage?
