  5. Yes I am Landry - the Fishing for Tyler charity trips I offered up have led to some others... and I have to say it's been an absolute blast helping people catch these fat cats! I'm just doing it on a part time basis on the weekends. I'll post a full report of all my trips later this week, last Saturday with another board member and his buddy was one for the record books... stay tuned! (Hint : 10? 20? 30? 40????) Pete
  6. Great fishing with you and Frank today! It was indeed a tough bite today, catch a few fish then had to move to another spot. You and Frank landed 11, and I managed another 9 after you left for a total of 20. Six of my nine came in a twenty minute flurry just before dark. Nice meeting you as well Jeff - that mid-river handoff was a wee bit sketchy lol!!! Oh well, nobody and no gear ended up swimming - all is well. See ya out there in the morning. Back at it tomorrow - doing a multi-species day with Brian and guest Mike (cats and carp). Gonna be fun!!! Pete

  8. Haha bromance accepted Jer, thanks for the kind words. I do try my best to ensure everyone has a good time on the water and catches lots of fish. You guys were a blast to fish with. Nikki certainly has the magic touch and your grandfathers stories were wonderful. You took some great pictures as well! I really miss the days fishing with my Otati (grandpa in Hungarian), treasure these moments. As a thanks for that good karma you sent my way, I have a treat for you and Brian this summer, but I'm going to keep you both in suspense for a little while... (This is my revenge for him keeping me in suspense for the truck-stuck story!) Pete
  9. Welcome Nikki and great to meet you on Sunday. You rassled those big cats like a champ! Would have liked to see you smack Jer with a big channel cat! (Kidding... Well sort of...!) Looking forward to seeing your great catches, and Jeremy's photography I'll get you officially added to the team 6 roster when I do the next update shortly. Pete
  10. I have also heard to put the hooks in coca cola for an hour - haven't tried it myself though. I would be hesitant to put chemicals like wd-40 on my hooks for the scent factor...
  11. Hope the new ride and gear see plenty of Tyee filled action in the years to come! I've only been doing the Lake O thing the past two years, it's a blast, and so close - perfect for weekday evenings after a day of work. How about "The Tyee-tanic" LOL! Ok, not my best idea... Cheers Pete
  12. Hopefully not the power supply in the unit... my LCD tv acted like that when the power supply went in it. Have you checked the fuse? (assuming it has an inline fuse)
  13. Ah... hate thieves... grrrrr!
  14. Did it happen to be at Rice Lake Shayne? Same thing happened to Andrew's spare last year when he came to my cottage for the day.
  15. Looks great. I have the same boat (tiller version) and plan on doing the same shortly.
  16. Great deal for 2 batteries and an onboard charger here in the OFC classifieds...
  17. He's been scouring Kijiji for weeks... Lots are popping up but they either sell so fast he misses them, or they are really far away... Was just PM'ed a promising local (Kawarthas) lead...
  18. I should have mentioned, he would prefer used if possible. The Naylors are nice.
  19. My bro picked up a boat last fall and wants to get a boat lift for it... used if possible. His boat is a 19'5" fibreglass bowrider, weighs around 2100 lbs or so. Manual lift preferred, but powered ok too. Canopy would be a bonus. Anyone have a contact for a good deal? Thanks Pete
  20. The water was pretty high, but the suckers were stacked up in one spot where there is an eddy... Small hook and small piece of worm did most of the damage, single Jensen egg caught a couple also.
  21. It can be pull started - but you have to remove the cowling and wind the rope on manually. It's not built in.
  22. Oh wow, incredible job restoring her Bernie. I have to show these pics to my Dad, it was his boat and motor and he will he really happy that she got restored to her former glory. So happy it made it into your hands! Cheers Pete
  23. Got another batch today. They were stacked...
  24. Thanks for all the responses everyone. My motor is a 30hp Honda, does not take much juice to start it. I took the boat out yesterday catfishing, and the motor started up fine all day and the fishfinder showed the voltage at the lowest was 11.9V. My Honda does all the charging, I've popped my onboard charger on it from time to time and always had green light (full charge). It took a charge this spring after sitting all winter. I'm going to replace it just to be safe, think I will take everyone's advice and go for the Costco battery. I have zero complaints about the Nautilus AGM - like I said, it's been flawless... But hey if the Costco will accomplish the same thing for less money why not. Cheers Pete
