  1. Looks like a great weekend! Nice fish too
  2. That was a good read! Make's me anxious for Walleye opener down here!
  3. I went from a 81 25 HP Evenrude, down to a 90 9.9 Evenrude, and saved at least $150 is gas last year. I would think that 65 Merc will suck back the gas, and pollute like no tomorrow. As for reliability. It could be a great motor, or if could be a lemon. You won't know until you get a few hours on it. Not worth is IMO. "edit" Unless it's DIRT cheap. If you want a stronger engine, I would suggest something in the 90's. If you can't afford it right now, then start saving. Pick up something cheap at the end of this season??
  4. I've never done a floor before. But if you need an extra hand with anything, give me a call.
  5. I was thinking about this earlier today. The know the names and addresses of all the rescued fisherman. The must, as they are being charged by Oro. Just go knock on their doors, and ask for the vests back.?? No?? And these vests are a stock Salus item. http://www.salusmarine.com/pdfs/sar.pdf And you can buy the vest on their website for $270..
  6. Great pics Simon!
  7. Thanks guys! Just got a friendly PM with his e-mail address. I'm gunna see if I can get in touch with him.
  8. Bill Hamblin was a co-writer of the "Musky Hunters Alminac". He was also a teacher at my highschool for a period of time. I've always wondered if he was a member of this board. He was also a guide on Georgian Bay. Wondering if he still guides. I'd love to get out with him. Now that I've moved closer, G-bay is my new playground Does anyone know Bill?, and what he's up to these days?
  9. That's crazy.. I never win anything! But I never buy loto tickets, or call in on radio shows.
  10. They're keeping the rescue vest for next year, when they need to get rescued again!! At least the one guy who has already been rescued twice before..
  11. Success!! Nice pics as usual Justin!
  12. Cute pics.. But enough of that. Where are you getting the SMELTS!!!
  13. Bows will have to do. Or if I'm lucky, a Wild Turkey. Not getting my hopes up :wallbash:
  14. Thank-you Slowpoke. I was really hoping a trucker would chime in and explain things about the vantage point of a trucker. I appreciate the input
  15. Nothin up my way yet. When I came to look at the house last fall before we bought it, there was ferns everywhere. Lots of prime fiddle head habitat up here. More then I'll be able to eat! I'll be sure to drop you a line once I notice anything. And trust me, I've been watching for them
  16. In Ontario, I'm floored at how fast the transport trucks drive in poor conditions. Heading home from the Nip G2G this year, we ran in to some NASTY weather. Driving 60km's and there's trucks passing us going 90 to 100km/s.. Seems a bit crazy to me.. But I'm not a trucker, and have no idea how they handle on ice and snow covered roads.? Obviously this is not a factor in the video here. This trucker had no chance.
  17. Seen that one before. Scary stuff. I think It's safe to assume the SUVs occupants are not longer with us. I think the trucker might have taken a decent blow too. That's still one hell of an impact. Absolutly crazy eh.
  18. I've never used a 62stc, but I've used one very similar. They are good units. You won't be disapointed with it. I use a 60Cx, and a 60CSx. They are the older version of the 62stc.
  19. Maybe.. But it aint no Shimano mounted on a St Croix!! The rod is made by Southbend.. Might be garbage. We'll see how this combo holds up.
  20. You want to talk about wieners and beans.. I've been looking for a cheap pike/muskie set up for a while. Managed to pick this up for $10... Tony Rizzo rod, old but in mint condition. And an Okuma Hologen bait caster.
  21. The Cap lock thing is hard on my eyes. To be honest with you, I don't read your posts because of it. It gives me a head ache.
  22. Waders keep you 100% dry. I don't have a really good pair of rain gear. So if it's raining hard, I've often thrown on my waders to keep dry. Specially during may 24 camping, when it's cold.. I've gone under wearing my waders while duck hunting more than once. No problem.. They didn't cause me to sink any faster.
  23. Lets see here.. $200 a head, 675 heads.. That's $135,000. Good deal!
