  1. Had to use the golf as a show plow this morning. Well. I guess it wasn't that bad. About 10" to 12" in Orr lake. There was even a small skim of ice Saturday morning in some of the bays. The drive in was a little slow. Thankfully, I put my winter tires on yesterday!
  2. The frenchie 500 has hurtals now!
  3. So you're trying to say that simply screaming "PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE....PLEASE PLEEEEAAAAAASE!!!!" at your fishing partner to net the fish is NOT the correct way to handle the situation? In all seriousness though, great post, and great advice. I'm glad you took Lew up on his request to create this post.
  4. Nice lookin ride Simon. Send more pics once she's decked out with an auger rack and rod holders!
  5. Nice looking steak there Jacques! I mean Buck.. Ya, nice looking Buck
  6. Congrats on the new house man! And those where some great pics! Really like the tower shot.
  7. That's not scary! That's figgen cool I picked out at least a dozen OFC member's there!
  8. Those are some really nice pics. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a fantastic season!
  9. Man oh man. What I would give to be sipping baileys and coffee jiggin whitties on Simcoe this weekend!
  10. I'm gunna do some research on this incident. Regardless of who messed up, it's a sad story
  11. Got a 3 year last year. Remind me again in 2 years
  12. Might have to check these guys out. Something a little difference for a change. Thanks for posting Bri.
  13. I've gone out a few times. With a re curve though. Very hard to hit fish. PM me with any specific questions. I can forward them to my buddy who has been a bow fishing finatic for a long time. He will know the answer to any questions you have.
  14. Yikes.. $100,000 and their hummer! Serves them right! 131 counts. They dropped 110 of them because they plead guilty to 21. I wonder what the charge would have been if they nailed them for all 131.. $625,000 and their house?
  15. Nice shots man!
  16. I just dropped 50 bucks at the local gun shop. Got a blueing kit, and 50 rounds. Gunna do a test fire this weekend. I might have to order the truoil online. He didn't have any in stock, but recommended I use "Tung Oil" from the hardware store.
  17. This season has been very slow. I haven't made it out nearly as much as I would like. But the reasons for my lack of fishing are all good... I have some buddies from high school coming up this weekend. Get out on G-Bay one last time on the soft stuff. I am looking forward to this coming hard water.
  18. What did you use to re-blue the barrel? I was thinking about doing it.
  19. Thanks! I think I will get in to the hand loading eventually. But for now, I'm just going to go grab a few boxes and see what shots the best.
  20. Very cool man. There was a big old bass we used to catch time and time again as kids growing up on the Maitland River.
  21. The bore is in good shape. Thanks for the tip! Do you have to apply the truoil every few years? I am assuming it will really bring the natural grain finish out? Water resistant as well?
  22. UPDATE: FINISHED PICS ADDED AT END OF THREAD. I have been on the market for a good coyote gun for the local dogs. But with a 8 week old boy at home, the budget is on lock down. My neighbor used to shoot a lot. Re-loaded all his rounds. He worked in a lab with a Bisbee Marksman. He had his Remington 722 .222 Rem. dialed in at 200 yards. Claims you could drive nails with it. He told me I can use it all i want if I fix it up. Hasn't been fired in 15 years. BUT, it comes with all the re-loading equipment and dies for .222 Rem! Specs: Remington Model 722 Chambered for .222 Rem. Approx 1950 - 1960 This is going to be my Coyote gun. Here's some shots from when he gave it to me a few weeks back. It was sitting in a steel locker in the moist cold area. Here is about 5 hours in to the restoration. I am almost ready to give the wood a coating. But I don't know what to use. It can't be reflective, or glossy, but needs to be a durable wood finish. I am really impressed with the quality of the wood that I found. The old gloss coat was in rough shape. But I bushed and scraped stripper for a few hours. The barrel was rusted on the outside, to that took a pile of polishing, around 2 hours. I still have to give is a thorough cleaning and oiling on the inside. Possibly re-blue the barrel, and give the wood a coating. I'll post up more pics of the fishing product if anyone wants to see it.
  23. Really good way to eat canada goose.! Sure looks tasty!
  24. I posted this 5 minutes to early. I just got an e-mail from my aunt informing me of some bad news. He didn't make it.
  25. http://www.simcoe.com/news/article/1529113--pedestrian-in-critical-condition This is my Dad's cousin. He's in rough shape. I haven't had an update from my Aunt yet, but last she herd, he was not doing good at all. For those that put their hands together, hopefully you don't mind putting this in the back of your mind. Positive thoughts are strong things. EDIT - Thanks for reading my post. But I just received notice that Gordon Wagar has passed away in the Hospital after receiveing very serious head injuries.
