I spud holes for the work out.. And it's easier on my tendinitis.. Cranking manual augers doen't work for me. There was only 16" of crappy soft ice to get through... Took no time at all! Hey bunk, so far the Frabil it working great. But I've yet to tie in to anything really big with it. Maybe this weekend...Chad..? I'll let you know how it holds up.

I've had the usual things go down the hole which stir up a few laughs. Cell phones, glasses, lures, flashlights that you just bought, and end up sitting there trying to catch it with a williams for 2 hours... I think the funniest thing I saw was while camping with a group of about 25 guys. Buddy put to big of a motor on a home made bracket off the side of a small sportspal. I think it was a 6hp... Way way to big. We are all standing up on this cliff, tanked. And this guy is planning out the sportspal, doing passes back and forth having a good old time... Until the bracket fails.. The motor takes off beside the canoe, but buddy didn't let go, so it flew up in the air and landed in the center of the canoe, prop going, motor at WOT.. Thank go he was solo.... Guy reached up and hit the kill switch with out spilling a drop of beer. The crowd that was watching from the near by cliff all stood in shock for a second, than simultaneously hit the ground rolling in laughter....

No where I was. But on my snowshoes, I never would have noticed anyways.

Second time this season snowshoeing in to this spot. Very last minute, or I would have had a few others with me. Just a solo mission today. I found this guy on the walk in. He must have crashed pretty hard... I wasn't set up and fishing until after 10 am. Blue Bird sky. I wasn't getting my hopes up. Testing out a new Christmas present. A Frabil 38" heavy action rod. First bite, I didn't set the hook right. And I lost the fish. I'm used to short hydro poles... I was marking some monsters, but they where just coming up for a sniff, then back down. My wife texts me that she's on her way home, that's my que to pack up and leave. Moments later, one rises up from bottom and dings my williams. No messing around this time. I set the hook good and hard. Nothing big, but it's still 16" toward team 6!! The rod has a real nice feel to it. I'm gunna try for some big pike and see how it handles. Home just before 1. Great way to kick of the long weekend!

I think it would be easier to list the sports I like the least. Figure Skating.. That's pretty much to the only sport I don't like to watch. The rest is all awesome. I am an avid outdoors man, and endurance athlete, so just to watch these people, and know what they have and are putting them selves through is amazing to me.

I've got some cleaned fish in the freezer waiting to be turned in to the exact same yummyness. Can't wait! Thanks for the post. I actually forgot I had some fillets in the freezer.

This topic has been beat up a few times on OFC.. I can not stand seeing the bass guys reefing on bucket mouths with 60lbs braid. Skipping the fish across the top of the water to the boat. I understand why they do it... They're trying to win tournaments. But it's just not something I would ever do. A little fight is fun. Not so much to wear them out, and kill them. But a little fight.

I can see two of my honey holes in these pics... How deep of power would stop you from landing the plane Wayne? There's was about 18" of powder on the lake 2 weeks ago.
