  1. With the PQ, vs, say an STX, most of the components aren't quite as good, and the tolerances not as tight, but with the 4.7, you get a set of brass gears larger than the ones in a 6500, and end up with what seems to be a really good little reel for the money.
  2. X3 on the pro qualifier. I used the 4.7 on cranks in the 1 1/2 ounce weight class all last year, and the thing was better than I bargained for. Revo parts fit it, if you want to upgrade. I may buy another when I head north this weekend. Really solid value.
  3. Thanks for the update. I'll be up that way this weekend. Sounds like I better bring more than the usual spring shallow water gear.
  4. That's pretty cool, Mike. The view is always better from the high road...
  5. Or looking to get rid of some ballast????
  6. What Drifter said with regard to depth and location. Shallow is good in the season's early days. I would try white/silver floating jerkbaits in the most shallow water, and suspending if you're fishing 4 ft or so. Slow retrieves, long pauses while working the lure. Live or dead minnows should work, though I don't have the patience for deadsticking, so I can't speak from experience on that one. Hope it works for you, MB2!
  7. That's a beauty! 'Tis the season!
  8. Once again, an example of how the Goby has ruined the fishery of Lake Erie!
  9. pfft no trolling motor comes with either of them.
  10. Congrats, and good health to you, SBK!
  11. Happy Birthday, Misfish!
  12. Mike, I'm not trying to start anything, but please share your thoughts!
  13. My last kitchen we did granite, using HD, who contracted with Stoneworx from Woodbridge. They are also a provider of Zodiac, another quartz material, which was almost our choice. The counter was J shaped, and when the guys arrived, they had cut one of the pieces so the grain didn't flow properly. We had them re-cut it, which they did, no questions asked. We used a cabinet maker I knew, who built custom ash cabinets. Ikea has come a long way, and some of my reno junkie friends have not only been happy with the cabinets of late, but Ikea's appliances, too. They'll build to your space. Not solid wood, but that's a different snack bracket. Corian is a beautiful material, and while it won't beat your knives up like granite will, it will show signs of wear over time. It may be possible to rejuvenate the surface, but I don't know for sure. The decision for us to go with granite is that we simply found, after looking at about 100, a sheet of rock we really liked.
  14. I caught two last year on jerk baits, and thought it was more or less the norm. (I don't target them).
  15. Great report and wicked photos, Thanks!
  16. 8000 gallons of fuel, actually.
  17. Carl, I was telling Roy that my family is from up the Rouge River. Did you always live in this neck of the woods?
  18. If you found it greasy, it might be better with hotter oil, Mike.
