  1. I'm hungry all of a sudden!
  2. If the "authorities" are granted the right to peruse our communications and browsing history at will, is it not a natural extrapolation to suggest they might be granted the right peruse the rest of our property as well?
  3. I use a hanger on the boat to keep lures used that day, so usually they're dry by the time I get to the dock. That said, if it's raining, or whatever, I bring my trays in and leave them open overnight to dry them out...
  4. Has anyone tried peanut oil, or any other "healthier" alternative?
  5. I think I remember it being called Labatt Pilsner back in the 60s. For me, I'll tend towards ales in the winter. (Fullers London Pride, Old Speckled Hen, Mill Street Tankhouse, and lately Crazy Canuck by Great Lakes). Summertime a whole different bunch of lagers or Pilsners, Especially Urquell. . Cheers!
  6. :clapping:That's pretty funny! I have the worst spring fever imaginable. It's at least a month ahead of usual, and I seem to think that break-up is just around the corner. Never mind that May 1 isn't getting here any faster.... There's some work to do on my buddy's cottage; I'm hoping we can open early so it's all done before fishing time. Here's hoping!
  7. Gotta mellow out after listening to Dan;s stuff!
  8. I take 2/3 corn meal, 1/3 flour, seasoning salt, black pepper, a little cayenne, a little paprika, and a touch of garlic powder, and a touch of onion powder. Mix it together, cube the fish and coat in milk, then the breading, and off to the deep fryer.
  9. I use braid ranging from 40to 80 lbs on my baitcasters, and don't have any complaints with casting distance, but I tend to throw heavier baits. Backlashes are pretty much always of my own doing, for sure. As far as diameter is concerned,I still have a spool of Sufix Performance Fuse 30 lb, on one of my baitcasters. It's almost as thick as the 80 lb Power Pro. Mind you, that line is older by a couple of seasons, and has seen a lot more action, so it's "fuzzier", but a thick line for its rated strength, for sure.
  10. My siblings are spread from Kelowna to Angola and it makes life a lot easier and cheaper, too! My brother in Angola speaks with his fiancé in Edmonton all the time using it. I have it on my iPhone, as well.
  11. A trip down memory lane featuring Billy Cowsill http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=zv7CCUJhg3c
  12. Globe and Mail New York Times CBC Instagram Photoshop Express Ihandy Level Plumb Bob Skype Guitar Tuner (for my son) Evernote Angle App Atmospherique Link to OFC!
  13. BNS trades more metals than anybody else but in the day, First Mercantile called tighter markets. But to the question of what motivates your selling, that's up to you. Metals have tended to under perform over time, because they haven't paid you to wait. There's a conversation that has to occur around the issue.....
  14. Though I don't use one, I don't think you need to worry about the durability of a Compre. The same can be said for a Veritas, however, which I used extensively last year. Check them both out: you may find the Abu stiffer at the same rating than the Compre. I enjoyed the Abu, btw, and will get another in the spring. Good luck with your shopping!
  15. My iphone 4 serves as a mobile office, and does well at it. I used to use a Blabckberry for work but when I left I got the iphone. I can't comment on other brands but the iphone does well for me, save for the fact that autocorrect can sometimes be a pain, and I think my old BBY was a slightly more powerful phone. With the apps and features these days, I can't imagine that either Samsung or iphone wouldn't serve you well.
  16. I can't decide between 1966, when I caught my first pickerel (as they were known back then), 1989 when I caught my first muskie, or 2006, when I came back to fishing after almost 20 years away. Maybe 2007 when I caught my pb smallie, or 2008 when I caught my biggest walleye. Each year has brought something amazing and unique, but each year has brought joy.
  17. Beautiful pup! Kitty looks doesn't look too impressed, though.....
  18. I can't speak for Holguin, but a buddy of mine goes to Jardines del Rey after bonefish, permit and tarpon. He loves it, and has traveled quite a bit in pursuit of bonefish. Super laid-back, apparently, and great fishing as well....
