  1. handy when you're shooting doubles.... Jaspers On Point : I have a few M12 Winchesters that are great, love the slam fire on them (hold the trigger down and pump). I used to do that when I was a kid!
  2. Never had a problem with seals in my auto loaders, myself, either in the field, ( I always prefered grouse hunting to ducks), or at the club.
  3. Agreed on the 870 if you want a pump. Any Model 12 fans out there? That was my first 12 gauge, and I wish I still had it today. I think it may have found its way to my brother's gun room in Ft McMurray. hmm........
  4. Check out a Maxus, they're reliable. My Remington 1100 has always been good to me, but it was made in the 70s, a good period for Remington. The most important thing imo, though, is to find a gun that feels right to you when you shoulder it.
  5. I have a fourteen year-old for this type of thing. More expensive than a camera, and not quite as reliable, but he's a little more articulate than our dog these days, so he's ok
  6. Palomar. strong, quick to tie.
  7. For the opening of the pike season, Husky Jerks, 10-sized X-raps, Super Shad Raps, Storm Thundersticks, and Bomber Long 'A's
  8. Probably against the rules of your condo corporation!
  9. I reel with my left hand on either spinning or bait casting rigs. Cast with my right hand. I probably do it that way because the spinning reels I used as a kid had the handles on the left hand side. Also, I think I can work a jerkbait, or anything else, a little more precisely if I hold the rod in my right hand.
  10. Always wear glasses, guys! Protect your eyes from the sun, and ourselves
  11. From the vaults: The Fleetwood Mac composition, Black Magic Woman
  12. Congrats!
  13. Gotta big up Gary Clark Jr. Last August he came to the Rivoli, which holds like, 100 people. That said, he's been recognized and helped along by his peers, so last night he played the White House, along with Buddy Guy, BB King, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, and a host of others. Here he is playing a side stage at Bonneroo lsat summer. Must have been a pretty good year.....
  14. It's a beautiful place, Bill!
  15. I'll be near the island
  16. Along the same lines of aniceguy, but a little more specific; I'll be here:
  17. Terrific day with my boys, topped off with a dinner of pike from lat fall. The guys love the stuff!
  18. Thanks! I like this thread: I'm always getting reminded of songs/artists who have slipped my mind, and the chance to listen to stuff I haven't heard before.
  19. Daniel Lanois will be playing at the Great Hall on Queen St in Toronto on March 23 and 24th, in conjunction with his induction to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. I have listened to his music for a long time, and I can guarantee, having seen him perform a number of times before, that he will play something for everyone.
  20. ^^^ What Pigeon said, and for lures, anything that's big and black! If you can make it up to the Spring Boat Show, Muskie Sunday will give you the best head start you could ever hope for, seriously. As an aside, is there an area you've decided to target them?
  21. ^^^^Works for me! My kids love the Rapala simulator, on top of it...
  22. My favourite combo isn't my best! It's a 6'2" Gary Roach paired with a Pflueger Supreme. I've fished the combo for years; it's been used for all kinds of different rigs and lures, and has been a reliable workhorse of a rig that I don't have to baby. I just like the feel and familiarity of it, more than anything. The reel is excellent in its own right....
  23. Lol, and I bet the only thing bigger than the computer, (which, in my experience, batched all our cards at night), was the air conditioning room to keep it cool!
