Very cool link. If my grandma was alive today, she'd lose her marbles over those photos. Spent many a night at MLG with my dad in those days when you could afford to see a great hockey game....but the coolest thing was shovelling Ian Turnbull's driveway as a kid for extra money and fishing for carp in Darryl Sittlers backyard..aka Sittlers pond. Wayne...hope PK puts a team together soon but me thinks he could beat all those leafs by himself...hahaha

The secret Island still exists...lol Good times with Jack and the pooch.

I've been happy with my Lowrance X67c that I puchased three years ago. It's been worth it's weight in gold yet at a fraction of the price of other manufacture's units. One thing that I found with the X67c was the connector sleeves to the battery pack were not beefy enough to stand up to lots of use. I had some electronics wizzards beef up the wiring and modify it with a patch chord similar to the one you'd use to plug into a guitar or other A/V gear. I get to slum around with alot of guys on the ice, including an R&D guinea pig from Vexilar(sorry Rob)and I think there is great value for your dollar with the product that Vex offers. The Marcum line-up is nice too, however the showdown series(old VPG) has issues with the power on/off button. A buddy of mine sent me home with 2 units experiencing the same problem to be fixed by the wizzards. You can't go wrong with the Humminbird stuff either. Light, simple functions and reliability all rolled into one unit. Specifications play an important role in choosing the right gear for the job. Versatility, function/application and warranty need to be considered. You can't put a price on value. I do love my ice machine.

You're almost smiling. That's a slobby buzzer beater fish.

The perfect backroom amp for me has been the Marshall MG series(15dfx) It's got a clean channel, setting for gain(distortion). The regular eq stuff, bass, treble, contour. It also has a bunch of preset digital effects and level control. Also has cd line in and emulator line out...oh and headphone plug-in. It was under $300.00 taxes in when I bought it three years ago. I do beef it up with some external pedals/effects.

Chris, thanks again for the blast from the past. We trudged through the muskeg in your footsteps. I really don't have alot of photos that could possibly accentuate what Bunk has delivered from Partridge. Since you mentioned. The Attawapiskat watershed is an incredible destination. Bucket list for sure before the Ring of Fire really starts burning. We caught alot of beautiful fish on the last fly-in 2011. To really enjoy and rip up and down the river 30k each way...east or west, the highwater season is best. When the river is at normal levels it's a steelhead ditch with endless stretches of pools and rock gardens. Fish are confined and easy to catch but theres alot of work where navigation is concerned. Bunk...It's not everyday that I roll into camp after having to shake a big fish from my arm and being left with a topraider stuck deep. I got lucky having an ER nurse,an RN and stevie Z an EMS dude on the trip. The look on their faces when I walked into camp is something I will never forget. Glad they were there. I've got some planning of my own to do Chris, I'td be nice to see some more from you.

That is a sight for sore eyes right there!...still got some days of slaying Bass in the valley to go yet. Don't forget to charge-up the x67 dood. Very much looking forward to your reports on the hard schtuff. Jack's secret island....lol!

Is there going to be a Kesagami lodge report Chris?...you already had the T shirt. I had 2 perfect trips into Partridge with Maurice after changing hands of the camp. If you ever decide to go back, take an evening or two and slay your brains out on Partridge Walleye. Enjoyed the photos...thanks!

Doc says I'm good to go back to Work Tomorrow
Slop replied to spinnerbaitking's topic in General Discussion
Congratulations to you!!! Fantastic news and all the best on your return to work. I can relate. Getting back to work for me was a significant victory as well. It took a year and a half to beat the snot out of cancer and once again I get a chance to make a difference no matter how small. There will be follow- ups regardless of symptoms present. Everyone that you know and don't know in the medical community is still going to want to get their hands all over you. They are a relentless bunch but should be commended for a job well done. -
For me, C&R has not worked 'as' successfuly on Perch, Crappie, Whitefish and Walleye. I was hankering for a meal. I've caught the same Muskie, Lake Trout, Bass and Pike before. A situation that I will always remember was when me and a buddy, years ago, were doing a walk-in Pike fish on a lake near the French River delta. I had hooked what I thought was a monster Pike but the fish wrapped me in a rock or log. The bugger broke me off and my favorite spinnerbait was gone!! Well a few choice words could be heard as far away as Manitoulin Island. Now that the fish was gone, the beast would only live in memory of leviathan proportions...hahaha. I scoped out a nice large smooth rock that extended into the water several hundred yards further away along the shoreline. It took a bit to blaze through the bush to get to the spot. After several bombs in every direction, I had my line move forward and then tighten. As I played the fish to the rock, I could't believe mye eyes. The spinnerbait that I'd lost maybe 30 minutes before, was hanging out of it's snout along with my new favorite bait....lol. The Pike was a nice one, ten pounds or so and back at camp with a fire... some grub...THAT Pike was still the story of the day.

I wish Bob all the best in his new business arragement. This is a man that has forged an iconic career and brings entertainment, knowledge and a life's work to the sport we all enjoy. I really don't see a problem with that.

In eastern Ontario, the same kind of charity event is happening. It's in Cornwall. Dan Alfredsson aka crusty the clown and a new SEN aquired from Montreal, Latrendesse will have played the game. I also believe some hockey players will be featured in a reality show...ice pilots when they are in drifter territory. Have fun at the game.

You must've been jigging/trolling through the junk food aisle....just sayin'

I had no idea that reckless, monster, animal, racist predators used 'moisturizer'.

I like this report. It never really needed fish in it anyways. Pulling out your own tooth, getting bit by a cat more than once in a single sitting and having a captive audience while that chipmonk crushed a nut or two...that was a great shot by the way. The loss of your brother must've been a real shock. I know that he will never be gone as you will always celebrate his life.

For me personally, winternet does not exist as fishing never ends! So far I've had an absolutely fabulous year. Many fish, lotsa good times and most important, good health. .....and I gotta ask why skipper D has'nt taken a shining to ice fishing?

I'd have a fat smile too with a smallie like that one.

Greased out by 'Honey'...good dog!

No disrespect Jacques but I've never quite seen huntin' boots like those before.... and just one loaf a bread C'mon man! Bon chasse! -
Security at the border must be tight if they're only handing out 'mini doritos'.

Extremely fortunate? I'd say. Very nice pictorial and post. Diesel looks wise and had his 'lions' share of the adventure too.

That is a tank! Very nice 'warthas' fish.
