  1. Saw you were flying out of Wawa Terry, where to? Up here in Thunder Bay at my workplace, our local university Lakehead University, our student residences have been inundated with firefighters from out of province and in province. They are flown in here and stay here for 2 days of classroom orientation before they go out to the fire line. We just had over 200 of them from the Yukon and NWT get their orientation on working in Ontario and all the rules and regulations dealing with OMNR fire rules and regulations, procedures, etc. Here is a fire map updated within the last 4 hrs. I believe: http://forest.lrc.gov.on.ca/AFFM/fire/interactivemap/firemap_English.htm
  2. Lots of good ones already listed, but I haven't seen anyone list the Pink Panther movies starring Peter Sellers. Another one for me was "My Favorite Year".
  3. Well, other than a couple months of being a junior ranger with the MNR when I was in high school, and also operating a side business part time for 10 yrs., I have been employed at Lakehead University for 34 yrs. and haven't even thought of retirement yet. I am having way too much fun at work. It changes every day, never a dull moment. The guy I work with now, he and I have the same attitude. Keep Calm and Carry On!
  4. Yer only what??????????????????/ Have a great day Brian.
  5. Wayne, at our local university we have, and had buildings without 2nd floor access via elevators. The company Lakehead University used was probably an industrial installation company called Garaventa. I have seen the ads on TV for others. The ones we have I believe are not limited to floor levels, and could travel around 180 degree turns at landings.
  6. DAMN STRAIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I missed a bunch of responses.............. What I said above still stands.
  7. I do not have a satellite radio yet, but up here in NW Ontario, travel outside of Thunder Bay N or NW, even SW more than an hour or so, or even less in places, all you are going to get clear is CBC Radio One. We just do not have the population density of Southern Ontario to merit re-transmission tower prices for our local radio stations. Also, along the north shore of Superior between Terrace Bay and Wawa, and Wawa to Sault. Ste. Marie, pretty sketchy along that area from what I can recall. Also, between Geraldton area, and Kirkland Lake/Timmins?? whichever is first, long stretches of no reception of anything other than CBC. That's where XM or Sirius works great. Depends where you live.
  8. Who knows, might get a nice 60" flat screen TV as they pass by for the right price.
  9. this video has been around for a bit. Professional riders on high powered modified sleds. Still impressive. I ain't gonna try it with my 1990 Yamaha 410 EnticerT though. It would be glub, glub, glub.... for me within 50 ft.
  10. Dunno, going to my sister's place later today. Turkey will be on the menu, but it could be anything else after that.
  11. Yes, Merry Christmas to all on OFC. I am going to my sister's place for Christmas dinner(i am sure I will be bloated when I leave there, LOL), then back home to pack for ice fishing tomorrow. I went to boxing day sales for the first time last year. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! That was freaking nutz. I will take the solitude of ice fishing, in -C weather, wind going sideways, snow going sideways, freezing my whatever off, and catching squat over that experience.
  12. Great unit for sure, almost bought it last year. Decided to go for the ICE 55. Same as another poster, happy with my purchase, and works alongside a VEX with no issues. I have had no issues with the transducer clip myself.
  13. Chubby Darters are jigged fast. Rip them up a couple of feet, then let them fall. You can feel them wiggle on the jig up, then they just go whatever direction on the fall, wiggling all the way. They do make a lot of "noise" in the water column.
  14. Were they hunting in the Fort Frances area? I was getting breakfast at McDonald's this past week and ran into a bunch of guys stopped in Thunder Bay on their way back home who had I think 10 deer stacked up like cordwood in the back of a truck and trailer. I said, "let me guess, Fort Frances", answer, yup!!!!
  15. We have had success with them, Lakers love them along with stocked rainbows. Have caught walleye and stocked brook trout with them also. Mainly steel blue color with orange or chartreuse bellys and a little red color mixed in.
  16. Hope all goes well MJL. Remember, a now famous cyclist had it years ago. His name is Lance Armstrong. And he has won 7 Tour de France cycling races since.
  17. Started late Saturday afternoon, still lightly coming down. Approximately 4" of heavy wet snow, with more light stuff to come in the next week. Guess I should put the lawn mower away now.
  18. Yup, but if it is wintertime, the Bombardier Snowmobile, and later, the power auger.
  19. yer welcome Brandon, hope my small vote helped.
  20. in for a bit, Dozer is in with me.
  21. I also express my hopes and thoughts to Jack. I have been in the chat room with him numerous occasions a couple of years ago. They were always a good time. Am hoping for the best.
  22. Just remember to check the regulations on wherever you go. Hazelwood Lake is a conservation area, and does not permit any outboards, gas augers, or snowmobiles on it. Also, and I have not recently checked the newer regulations, tributaries into Black Bay along with the bay itself and the Black Sturgeon have a zero walleye limit. There is a rehabilitation effort underway to restore the population of walleye in Black Bay. You would have to check the regs to be sure.
