  1. Killing an unarmed soldier in cold blood. Cowardly and Brutal. So sad. How exactly does a guy with a rifle dressed in black get into the Parliament Buildings Mr Vicker apparently took him out. I hear he is also head of security there.
  2. so...lets hope they comply
  3. I'm 55 and am not sure what the future will bring. I won't want to just quit working cold turkey. I would go mental without having a purpose. Perhaps working part time (veterinarian). Perhaps some volunteer humanitarian work. I would however, love a life where if the weather was good, I had the flexibility to take time off to fish or travel. And work when the the weather is bad. I have gone to 4 funerals lately of people younger than me. Makes you think. No one ever said on their death bed "I wished I worked more"
  4. Hooked for life now
  5. I agree with the 14 ft. safer and more practical
  6. The stuff already mentioned. I also fill the tank with ethanol free fuel. Stabilize and run her for 10+ min. Grease all fittings. Will clean in-line fuel filter and re-install. For my 2 live wells I use a funnel and connect a hose to the water intake at the back. I close the back well valve and open the front well valve and let the aerator pump push RV antifreeze till it runs pink in the well then reverse the valves to look after the rear well. Disconnect the battery. Used to bring inside but not last 4 yrs. Battery is from 2007. I charge 1-2x during winter. Will install new plugs in spring. Don't want fogging oil on them. Ist new set for me. $12 each. Open all doors and make sure everything can dry and breath Tape "No mice allowed" sign on dash.
  7. Just came back from CT 3 kinds of Stabil Ordinary -fuel stabilizer Marine -ethanol treatment and stabilizer, Ethanol treatment and stabilizer which is best to put in a full tank for winter storage? peter
  8. Muskie fisherman's badge of honour
  9. Love my Toyota 4Runner. 4 liter 6 cyl. 10.5 l/100 km on hwy Highly rated. Great resale 30,000 km. Perfect

  11. nice. ya on Pigeon, mine are under 20 inches. so is the electric knife serrated? Goes thru the ribs well?
  12. Mike, I'm interested in your thoughts on the electric knife. I use a thin filleting knife. Does a good job but takes me a fair bit of time
  13. Wow. Kinda surprised Italo has so many fans. Worshipers even. No doubt he knows his stuff. I struggle with the way he communicates to the audience on his show. Like we're all kids. I've had to turn him off on occasion. Just my opinion.
  14. bought a couple precut/ready to assemble Muskoka chaires at Costco. $50 nice but they are pine. would have preferred cedar like yours
  15. With muskie fishing, you are always only 1 fish away from a boom/bust day
  16. Couldn't help but notice the increased number trolling on the weekend. Hope they are just passing thru and not new resident birds Peter
  17. Thanks Gents. I will try the gasline antifreeze and give the Seafoam more time She gets to hibernate soon.
  18. I think if you buy Premium gas at Shell, the same hose is used for the other blends that contain ethanol In a gas can, you would likely get some ethanol from what was left in the hose Just sayin'. Maybe not enough to make a difference.
  19. My Costco batteries have an obvious sticker with the manufacture date So far so good
  20. You did well. I struck out. Met a group of Yanks....party of 15, had 2 fish to show for them all fishing 3 days on North pigeon.
  21. At the cottage I have a significant slope to the front lawn down to the lake. Been mowing it horizontally with same mower 4 seasons. My Briggs and Statton 4.5 hp push mower is not running well. No choke. Speed not adjustable. Push pump button to start. Starts right away. But runs a bit ruff and rpms fluctuate when change direction. Put some old gas in it earlier in season that may have started the problem. Tried Seafoam. Checked plug. lots of soot on it. Cleaned it up. No change in performance. Is it ok to run a mower horizontally on a slope? Any suggestions? Thanks. Peter
  22. Fish Pigeon or Sturgeon and leave your wife at Bigley's Shoes in Bobcaygeon
  23. Trolling this morning on Pigeon for eyes along weed edges a thought came to me. If the boat spooks an eye near a weededge off of deeper water, which way will the fish go? Into the weeds or out to the deeper water? Wondering if the rod is better out the shallow or deep side? Nailed a 25 incher on a flat in 15 ft. with a perch taildancer. 10:30 am 2 mph
  24. Yup. Trolling a Taildancer in perch caught me a 25 inch eye this morning on Pigeon in 15 ft. Was looking for a feed but alas, chicken tonight....again.
