I've had City Wide Welding in Mississauga fix props for me in the past and didn't have any complaints about their work. Never repaired a skeg though.

Yes, I remember that game very well Johnny. They should have been in the final that year and I also think they would have won the cup. Anyone else would have received a penalty for the high stick, but Gretzky got away with it because he's "The Great One" and can do no wrong. Apparently Doug Gilmour's chin just started bleeding on it's own (requiring stitches) after Gretzky's stick came up around his face. Hmmm !!! When you see the replay, it's clear Gretzky should have been gone. The Leafs may not win the cup this year, but at least the team is looking like they want to win, and so far, have been fun to watch.

Saturday My daughter has a hockey game at 11:45am My son has a hockey game at 5:10pm and practice at 7pm at his home rink. Should be an interesting evening. At least I get out of Thanksgiving dinner with the wife's family. Sunday and Monday are up in the air. I'm doing some renovations in the kitchen. I have some smaller jobs to keep me busy until the new counter tops arrive. I also have to finish the brake job on my truck. Only did the rear. Going to try and get out bow hunting.

Welcome to the OFC family.

So if there was someone inside, they would have stood by and watched them burn to death. Whoever is responsible for this stupidity should be dismissed immediately.

Hey Beans, I hope your eyesight is better than your hearing and you didn't try to take a bite.

I've had a Remington 870 - 12 gauge for about 13 years and it works great. No issues. The price is right and you can use it for multiple species by simply changing your ammo and/or choke tubes I keep it clean and treated with proper lubricants and it's always reliable. The Mossbergs look like a good deal as well, but I have no experience with them.

I think I better get my eyes checked. Can't see what you're trying to show us Beans.

I've had a Lowrance Sonar / GPS on the boat for 20 years and love it. The sonar is great. We also have an Eagle unit (sonar only) that's almost as old as the Lowrance, but there is no comparison. I have had issues with the Lowrance over the years, but always my fault, not the machine or technology. When the day comes that I am forced to replace my unit, I will keep an open mind and look at all manufacturers before making any decisions. Good luck.

I know the guys at Advanced Taxidermy very well. Went to high school with them and known 1 guy since we were little kids. I've been dealing with them since they started in the business and have been pleased with their work, so that's who I recommend to everyone who asks about taxidermy. I definitely recommend a replica over skin mount. No need to kill a trophy fish anymore if you want it mounted. Take a quick length, girth and a photo (if you can) and release.

I used to have a 120 Mercruiser on an old Starcraft boat I had. Removed the clamp from the coolant hose at the highest point and poured RV antifreeze into the system until I saw it dripping from the out drive. After the winter, I yanked off the lower hose and collected as much of the coolant as I could in small buckets and put it back in the containers to be used another time. Also forced air through the system to push the coolant through the out drive into a container.(use your imagination with that one) The small amount that was left was flushed out with water. Don't wait to get to the lake to flush out the system. Antifreeze and living organisms don't mix very well.

I use a palomar knot for most applications.

I had an older 35 hp outboard that had a similar problem. Turns out the fitting on the hose wasn't connecting tightly with the fitting on the motor. (air leak) I put a 5 cent rubber 'O' ring on the engine side of the fittings (male side) and that was enough to snug up the connection and eliminate the leak. Ran like a dream after that.

Once again I wish you all the best. Cheers !

We always had problems with corrosion and burnt out lights despite unplugging them. Then I bought a set of magnetic tow lights and I just remove them before launching. Store them in a box in my vehicle. They never see water, unless you're driving in the rain or snow/slush. The magnets are fairly strong, but can pop off if going over potholes, railway tracks, bumps, etc. I go the extra step and put plastic fasteners (ties) in a criss cross pattern around the lights to ensure they don't fall off. Snip them off while launching (discard in trash bin) and re-apply new ones before leaving the launch area. Seems time consuming at first, but as you do it more often, it shouldn't take more than 1 min. to remove them and about 3 or 4 min. to set up again. You can buy plastic ties in bulk packages for just a few dollars. If you need more length than you have , 2 or more can be fastened together. A few pieces of heavy gauge wire (insulated) could be used as well and can easily be re-used many times. Hope this helps.

I have a 2007 Ford Escape 3.0 lit. v6. (3500lbs. towing capacity) Lots of power to tow our 16 foot boat. Could hardly feel the 14 footer behind me. I also tow my utility trailer with it. Custom built (by me) 5.5 x 10ft. with a 3500lb axle. Dang trailer probably weighs over 1000lbs. empty. Never a problem towing. My lease is up in November and I'm looking for either another Escape or similar sized SUV. Quite a few people I know have Ford F150 pickups and swear by them. That's another option. I like the 5 door (4 door + tailgate) model. Jeep Grand Cherokees used to come with a diesel engine. Something to consider if you want used 4x4, need lots of torque & still get decent fuel economy. Good luck !!!

The Pickering nuclear plant is killing fish by the millions
Carp replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
My uncle works at the Pickering nuke plant. He says there's always lots of fish sucked against the grates, including large trout, salmon, muskie and walleye. It's one of the prices we pay for nuclear energy. -
Now you tell me I may not have to pay for a license after forking over money for the last 25 years. I'm crazy and I'll be the first to admit it. Wonder if they'll refund all the fees I've paid if I tell them I'm of my rocker ?
