  1. 2 of my kids play hockey on the weekends. If it wasn't for that, I'd scoop this spot in a flash. Now that I think of it, they both have games this afternoon and practices tonight, so Sunday................... Might be able to get a day trip in with our own boat. Hmmm !!! Better work on the kitchen renovations today before the games or she's gonna blow a gasket if I take off. We're hosting Christmas dinner with her side.
  2. Not much you can do unless you become the Minister of Natural Resources. I always renew for 3 years (fishing & hunting).
  3. The hockey world has lost one of its most popular figures. You'll be missed Pat.
  4. A hard fought come from behind victory. They were absolutely flying out there. The hustle and grind in the opposing teams end was a joy to watch. I'll bet they're gonna sleep well after that game.
  5. All I have is a bunch of shovels, but I know how to operate the backhoe if necessary. I like using the shovels Brian. Easier to get into the back country swamps where your buried treasure is less likely to be found.
  6. WHOA !!! Dude, take it easy with the stereotypes. There's good and bad apples in every batch. Good job Wayne. Bet he never thought of someone in a plane following him home.
  7. Very nice deer and congrats on your first. Bagged my first 2 with a rifle on opening day last week within 2 hours of each other. (I usually bow hunt) Neither buck was as nice as yours though.
  8. That's a nice buck for sure. I have a couple that size hanging around close to home as well. Just haven't got around to paying them a visit yet.
  9. You caught a fish Paul ? I understand why you would want to get a mount done. Joking dude. You probably catch more fish than I do. Talk to Advanced and I'm sure they will figure something out. They have moulds of different sized fish and from various water bodies too. They did a replica mount of my dad's old skin mount walleye. I saw one in the shop that was about the same size and liked the way it was mounted (pose) , so that's what I ordered. Looks as good as the day I brought it home and it's been a few years. Just a light dusting once in a while is all it needs.
  10. Nice shot.
  11. Simple solution. Go barbless !
  12. Thanks for taking the time to share this information Dave.
  13. Love the colours on the dolly varden. Looks like one heck of a vacation. Thanks for sharing.
  14. It's all about being in the outdoors and spending time with your son and friends. Getting an animal is a bonus. Sounds like a great trip to me. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to have my son and/or daughters join me on a hunt some day.
  15. I was just thinking the same thing Brian. I'm leaving this Sunday for a week of deer hunting. Hope everything passes before the hunt and doesn't return until afterwards. Last couple of years we've been lucky as the weather was great all week long during the deer hunt. What are the chances we can make it 3 years in a row ?
  16. Lakers, bows, browns, salmon, carp............ Take your pick ! They're all in there and many other species too. My guess is salmon at this time of year.
  17. Always had trailer light issues in the past. I've been using magnetic tow lights for quite a few years now, trouble free. Only takes a minute to remove them when launching and just a bit longer to put them on. Reason for the extra time to re-install is because I put plastic cable ties in a criss cross patters around the magnetic base and secure to trailer frame. If you go over bumpy roads, railway tracks, etc, they could be shaken loose and fall off. The cable ties get snipped off at the launch and thrown out. I install new ones before leaving the launch. Only cost a few dollars for a pack of 100. Problem solved and the removable lights can be used for multiple trailers.
  18. Glad you managed to get it out on your own. Doesn't always go so well. After trying for more than 2 hours, I had to have a large hook cut out of my finger in hospital a few years ago. Ironic to see a doc yanking on the hook with his shiny "fishing pliers." Wasn't fun. Doogy Howser almost ended up a patient. Finally got the scalpel to it, cut the finger to the bone, remove the hook and put a few stitches in. Next day, I was back on the water catching salmon and trout again.
  19. has not set their status

  20. My prediction is that the Leafs make the playoffs and get past the first round, but lose in the second round.
  21. Congrats on your first two beauties. Thanks for sharing.
