Inter row cultivation I hate to think how many hours I spent driving a Farmall Cub with the cultivators between the wheels, weeding the few acres of sweet corn we had in the sixties. As soon as the corn was done got to hill the potatoes with the same machine There was atrazine at that time but we didn't use it, once you put it on you could only grow corn on that land for at least 3 years, pretty persistent stuff ecologically.

I was in grade 8, the principal put the radio over the intercom system. Not a fan of the man personally.

It seems to fly thru the water, almost like a penguin , Strange critter.

Keep it, that is more snow than we have got in any of the last five years since I've retired and bought a snowblower. One winter never even used it and that don't bother me. If I do venture out it is for the open water of the Niagara River for the next few months.

I use cheap office depot elastic bands as releases with a shower curtain ring, # 16's I think. You might want to double them up for a big lipped musky lure.

what song are you listening to right now???
dave524 replied to fishing n autograph's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
For Rememberance Day, probably the best version of one of the best crafted songs of my generation. -
That is pretty much what I have done. I retired at 58 and have lived the last 5 years basically off the company pension. I also have a good sized RRSP that continues to grow until it is actually needed. Oh , started the Retirement Savings in my late 20's weekly deduction, bought the house in 84 when it was worth a 1/4 of what it is now. I had planned to be further ahead that what I am now. but I retired May 2008 , probably the worst month of the last 50 years to retire.

I can't believe I just read that Like I said I've been qualified as a Hunter Safety Instructor since 1977, after reading that I wish there was some way I could issue you a FAIL and pull your licence. That is just wrong in anyone's book, you are not serious I hope that was some kinda troll.
-
I'm sorry but at no point should the safety been off unless a deer was in sight , the gun shouldered and he intended to shoot the animal. Sitting in a treestand with the safety off waiting for a deer is just plain " STUPID " . Lowering a gun from a treestand it should have been totally unloaded, safety on don't cut it

I've been a Hunting Instructor since 1977, you know the course you need to pass to get a hunting licence, although I have not taught in a few years. 6 in such a short space of time is quite a blip on a good safety record but if it is a cases of not identifying your target there is no such thing as a honest mistake. Charges should be laid

Not up here you can win 50 million in the lottery and it's all tax free

Unless you don't plan on living very long inflation will get you. Even with indexing it probably won't keep up.

the lakes and rivers don't freeze here so the ice and snow just make any open water forays nasty, keep it up there
-
It will clear up sooner if Lake Erie freezes over

Some truth there, he appears to at least politically have a measure of common sense and a level head . What I'd like to know if this with the suspected drug use as reported in the press, just what kind of drugs produce the mindset of the Loonie Left that is so dominant on Toronto Council,

Beauties I have to ask, dad had a place there from the 60's to about 1990, that view and the lay of the hills in the last picture looks about what I recall the view was looking east from off the end of our dock, that isn't Loon Lake is it?

Hope they don't have these things round here, I have taken a stand on a hydro line a few times http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/field-notes/2013/10/deer-hunter-leaps-tree-escape-helicopter-tree-trimmer?src=SOC&dom=fb

Islander steelheader personal spin times and startup
dave524 replied to buick14's topic in General Discussion
I am an old school floater , I was taught to trot the float, it should be moving a somewhat slower than the surface current. Extended spin times are of no consquence to me as I for the most part are checking the advance of my float. However Wallace casting a bit of spin resistance might be a good thing, kinda like the anti backlash on a bait casting reel -
Thanks all, seems they are mostly aired, we searched for the preseason games and couldn't find any, regular season seems to be OK.
-
Thanks for the link I think she should be good now. The preseason not being broadcast had her worried the regular games would not be shown.
-
She is finding a few now on TSN and SNet, guess no one carried any of the preseason games, but it looks like she'll be able to catch the regular season without an expensive NBA package. She is American, I told her no one watches basketball in Canada
