  4. Hello everyone. I like to shop at my local fishing store for most things. But I also like to spend time online researching new lures and tactics. Is there any good Canadian online shops comparable to bps and cabellas? Hammer
  5. We are there on August 23 thru 26th. I will let everyone know what we find there when we get back with a report. muskiemainiac, i see you are there before us..... would love to hear how you make out...etc. Hammer
  6. Hi Everyone. Well, after long discussions with my group of buddys... we've decided to try a new spot for our almost annual fising trip... Brennan Harbour resort. The place looks good, and the fishing sounds good...but who really know. Wondering if anyone has been there, and what their expeiences were? Fish the harbours or the spanish river, what worked for you....any advice is appreciated. I'll provide a full report when we get back... Hammer
  7. Hi Everyone... Looking for some advice on fishfinders. I have a Humminbird 535 Portable, works good but I keep wondering what I'm missing with Dual beam or Side Sonar.. Worth the Hype? Or is just going old school and using my Fish finder to find deep spots and structure good enough?
  8. My favorite: 2 eggs 1 tablespoon water 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs 1/3 cup instant mashed potato flakes 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon seasoned salt 4 (4 ounce) fillets walleye Directions Preheat an oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet. Beat the eggs and water together in a bowl until smooth; set aside. Combine the bread crumbs, potato flakes, and Parmesan cheese in a separate bowl with the seasoned salt until evenly mixed. Dip the walleye fillets into the beaten egg, then press into the bread crumb mixture. Place onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until the fish is opaque in the center and flakes easily with a fork, 15 to 20 minutes.

  10. Thanks to everyone.. Apparently we had a change of heart on Onaping. Brennan Harbor resort here we come. Loks like a good spot.
  11. Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to the community. Live in the Hammer and try to get out fishing as much as i can locally and usually twice a year somewhere north. Looks like this year it may be more frequent on both fronts as I re-introduced fishing to my 2 boys last summer (12 and 8) and now they are already getting the itch. That being said, we are close to booking an outpost cottage on Onaping lake. Anyone been on this lake before? My be a little too far for the kids but really cant find outpost type fishing further south? Anyhow, Glad to be aboard. Hammer
