  1. I just looked at the "splitter" at the back of the receiver and it says "separater" on it with dish 1 and dish 2 outputs both going into the receiver.
  2. By the way guys...THANKS for all the help so far!
  3. BB, I have a single coax coming down from the dish, into the house. At the back of the receiver the single coax goes into a 2-way splitter, then 2 short coax cables(maybe 4" long) both go into the receiver.
  4. I have the Bell Expressvu 9241 receiver, which is the dual tuner HD-PVR model, if that helps at all. I got the 9241 with the package I chose with Bell and I just bought the second "plain jane" receiver for my sons room.
  5. So, my dish "should" have a second coax connector already on it. I do see the first coax line coming out of the dish but where do I find the second connector? Do I need to take the end apart?
  6. Hey all, I've had a Bell expressvu HD PVR system in my living room for about 5 mths now and I just recently bought another bell expressvu receiver (a regular one.....not HD) for my sons room. I split the main line coming from the dish with a 2-way splitter, which I thought was for satellites, and my living room system starting acting up.....losing signal, missing channels. My sons receiver would only pick up the odd channel. Do I need a better splitter? I got mine from the Source and it was around $30. This damn coax thing is driving me nuts and I'm a fibre optic splicer by trade!! haahha Cheers, Colin
  7. Not sure about the vendettas....but I just picked up a Verdict a few weeks ago and love the feel and balance with my Revo STX on it. Can't wait to catch a bucketmouth on it!
  8. I "caught" my Estwing hammer that I dropped down the hole on Simcoe.....2 weeks after the fact. Also caught my buddies Oakley sunglasses that we didn't even know fell down the hole.
  9. ......it's even got some extra line coming out the back end for a stinger hook.
  10. Saw a couple mini-vans out around the Big Bay Point area this afternoon. Not recommended though. ATV travel was perfect out there today......in fact it was a perfect day all 'round. No wind, sun shining, and a few fish to bring home for supper.
  11. I picked up a new Abu Garcia Revo STX off of eBay for $110.00 all in. I just bought an Abu Garcia Verdict to pair with it for around $130. obviously I haven't used the combo yet but it does feel very well balanced and super light. Check out eBay for your reels.
  12. Watching the Rage Against the Machine dvd "The Battle of Mexico City".
  13. When I was at the counter, I asked the guy if they had any of them left and he said "do we have any left???... of course we do!!" kind of like I asked him a stupid question.....then he looked at the shelf and said "hmmmm, they were right there this morning." I was thinking, great just my luck...none left. He did find one on another shelf after a few minutes looking, so I'm thinking that they don't have many left.......I could be wrong though.
  14. I think I will! I didn't just buy it because of the price. It feels like a good solid reel......nice and smooth.
  15. ........I did see my canoe go rolling across my backyard today!!! lol
  16. Well, I picked up my gear today. I went with a 7' Abu Garcia Verdict MH casting which will pair up nicely with my Abu Garcia Revo STX which I already had and I also grabbed a 6'8" St.Croix "EYECON" snap jig rod to pair with the Pflueger Supreme 9040XT I bought. (the one on sale for $69..reg $140). As much as I live for ice fishing....I can't wait for softwater now! Cheers, Colin
  17. There's tons of lakes out that way which have crown land around them. One thing to consider is how you plan on getting to your campsite?? Drive in sites, canoeing, power boat......etc. I went on a few camping trips last year in the bancroft area on some back lakes which were accessible with my canoe strapped to the roof of my 4X4 down some logging "roads". Had a blast doing so. Try to find a nice island if you can as we had a few visitors come thru the camp during our stay (bears). Good luck! Colin
  18. Well said fishgreg. After reading the posts thus far, and one in particular, I'm now leaning towards getting one good spinning reel and a couple semi-good rods. I understand my question was kind of in the same boat of "what truck is better....ford, chevy or dodge".....but I'm just looking for opinions, options and ideas. Keep the "ideas" coming guys...you're helping me out a lot! Colin
  19. Does anyone have any feedback on those "carrot stix" rods?? I see them used a lot on WFN......especially down south. Just wondering if they're any good.
  20. Great information so far guys! I appreciate it. I'm basically looking for an all 'round, multi-species rod, thinking a 7' rod and 2500 series reel. I'm not one of those guys who has 15 different rod/reel combos. I have a fairly good baitcaster and a few lower end spinning combos so I was looking to get a good spinning rod and reel set-up. I do fish a lot in the kawarthas for walleye and bass. Thanks again for the input! Colin
  21. I have received $400.00 in gift cards from family at x-mas and my b-day. What multi-purpose spinning rod and reel would you get? I'm leaning towards a Stradic reel but appreciate other opinions. I'm stuck on a rod though?!??! Appreciate the feedback everyone!! Colin
  22. Don, I haven't seen or caught one herring this year...mind you, I haven't fished in Kemp. Bay at all. Colin
  23. We decided to get on the ice a little later then we normally do because of the deep snow and slush. We were hoping that the traffic on the ice would packed some of it down for the atv's......but that wasn't the case. It was a tough go on the atv's this weekend. I was having a tougher time then Todd on Saturday because I was towing my Guide out along with having my buddy Randy, who goes about 230lbs, on the back of my atv. We didn't make it out as far as we would have liked but it turned out to be a good thing. We got into a good amount of fish in the time we were out. Randy and I managed to bring home 2 whiteys each and Todd came home with 2 whiteys and 1 laker. More we caught and release and several were lost on the way up. On Sunday, Todd picked me and my atv/trailer up at my house since the wife needed the truck today. It was a lot easire today travel wise out on the ice. The diff. lock on my atv kicks ass!!! lol What a difference between just 4-wheel drive, and 4-wheel drive with the front diff. locked. Night and day!! We were only out for about 3hrs and only got one whitey and one laker. We marked just enough fish and got enough chasers to keep us planted in the same spot for the day. All in all it was a good weekend get out. Crossing my fingers for the slush to tighten up!!! I'll be out for my annual birthday fish on Friday hopefully with Dad. Colin My first whitey of the day.....a nice humpback. Randy and my haul for the day. A couple happy fisherman Todd with his bounty for the day. Sundays laker. Todd's Sunday whitey
