  2. the girlfriend likes battered shrimp... so i was thinking i could do some home made battered shrimp for supper tonight... first thought was "fish crisp" anyone ever try this? any other recipes...? mike
  3. well by walleye opener i will have caught and released 2000-5000 pounds of carp... depending on how much i get out... any fish that adds up to as much as 400 pounds a day... ill give it a try... besides... i have my legal possession limit of perch after 1 day... after that whats the point? unless your illegally filling your freezer...
  4. The only bait runner I have is on the girlfriends carp rod... When you get a 30+ pound carp in the current... You want every bit of the 300 yards of 50lb power pro...
  5. I'd check some saltwater sites or something... I kind find much in stainless steel...especially that small... What do you want them for? I've never had a Kamasan rust...
  6. Her fault for not tying the dog up.... Not yours... It's her fault you feel guilty now... I'd say your the victim here (and the dog)... Try to move on and forget about it...
  7. Every person I've taken carp fishing has had a blast... And most caught their biggest fish ever their first time carpin.... Mind you once walleye opens the carp gear goes bye bye for the year...lol But what else is there to do till walleye opener...
  8. i think that really warm stretch we had was great... got everyone of that unsafe ice we had most of the winter... jumped spring ahead a couple weeks... now temps went back to normal to give the spawners time to do their thing... eliminated that time in the spring when it smells like dung everywhere... and jump started my carp fishing season by 2-3 weeks...
  9. lets get one thing straight... is this a reel your only gunna use for musky? or are you gunna use it for other species...? cause now it sounds like your looking for a MUSKY reel for 100 bucks that youll ONLY use a couple times a year...ONLY for musky... in your original post you were asking for a reel that can handle SOME musky but can be used for bass and pike the rest of the year...
  10. remove the gas line from the motor and insert i pin...key..anythin skinny into the conector on the gas line... there should be o ball bearing or something there... once you have the seal broken...start pumping the ball again... a few pumps and youll have gas...
  11. I have both... The c4 is a tighter reel... EDIT I should say the c4 stayed tighter over the years... ...
  12. I have a c4... Landed plenty of musky with it... Also used it for bass and walleye no problem... Had it 10+ years now... And I paid 60 back then... ...
  13. id go easy on it... try not to make burning high speed super long distance casts... but ive used my trolling rod to cast a couple times...
  14. http://fishing4tails.com/ greg amiel is a first class guy... and well accomplished tournament angler on lake o... went for salmon with him 3 years ago... 21 on 17 landed... mostly big chinooks... couple rainbows... we went mid aughust for the staging spawners
  15. 700i is -5.3:1 c4 is -6.3:1 and he wants a reel he can use for other fish also... the 7000i would be a bit big for bass and walleye...
  16. i had several "obsticals" to overcome being out in my boat all winter... had my throttle cable freeze up... had to poop off the throttle arm and throttle by hand to start up and move out from the launch in quinte... was 20 minutes or so till the throttle cable released... other issue one day was i had killed the engine in foreword on the previous outing... so when i went to shift to neutral to start the motor... it was frozen and wouldnt shift...and your motor wont start in gear... ended up taking a closer look at everything attached to the shifter... discovered that there is a button the gets pushed when your in neutral... so i pushed the button with a screwdriver... got her started in gear... 5 minutes later all was fine... these are the kinds of issues you may face in cold conditions... but as long as your patient youll be fine
  17. wow... a debate that stayed clean... where valid points were made on both sides... and its going to jokes now.... spring is here :clapping:
  18. yeah... the added stress of taking pictures and measurements of the fish out of the water wasnt great for the fishes well being...especially in this situation... but then again neither was the 5 pound drum stuck in its mouth...lol hope it survived
  19. i mean if my fishing accident i may encounter is truly unforeseen... by making these people pay...it will make it easier and easier for the government to pass judgment saying you were not using good judgment... then maybe some day all rescues in canada will have a hefty price tag attached to it...
