Thanks very much guys. I'll have to check out some pricing at different stores. I thought the bass pro price was hard to beat but I'll look into it. As for buying a better reel I already have some higher end reels. This one is just a back up that I won't use that often so I don't want to spend very much on it. Thanks again on the imput guys.

Hey guys I'm thinking of buying one of these reels. With the sale at bass pro I can get them for the same price. Both have good reviews. Any ideas or thoughts to which one might be the better buy. Thanks http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/gl.../Sedona_FB.html http://www.daiwa.com/Reel/detail.aspx?ID=237

I went to the show and enjoyed it very much. A friend and myself are in the market for boats so we had lots of questions to ask, so for that the show was great. We had a great time talking to Andy Pallotta who is the organizer of the show and runs the csfl fishing league. He is a wealth of knowledge on boats. It's not easy running a venue like this, he puts a lot of hard work in to this show and you get a lot for 14 bucks. I didn't look at tackle very much that day so I didn't notice if there was any good deals. But that's not why you go to the show. It's the experience you get. Lots of stuff to do and meet guys that know lots about fishing and are willing to share info. I met one guy just talking and he shared a great hot spot for walleye on the BOQ. Stuff like that and meeting an old high school friend that's into fishing that I haven't seen in like 15yrs and now were going to hook up was great. I think we all need to have a better attitude about things and enjoy more things. Take it easy guys

hey video me and watch my insurance rates go up next year! -
Ah the story about the auger that won't run. Let me tell you I feel for you sir. I bought a jiffy at the end of 08 start of 09 and got it home and did everything the manual said and after many pulls I finally got my jiffy started. Took it fishing and for the life of me could not get it started. Finally and after many pulls I got it started and cut one hole and she died on me and would not start again. The next day I tried to start her again and nothing. I'm thinking the piece of junk is brand new and is this hard to start no way man and back to the store to return it I did. After searching many posts on the net about this, I came to the conclusion that you either get a lemon or you get a good one. I went out and bought another model jiffy and this one runs no problem right out of the box. I used it all last year and since the start of this year it runs and starts no problem. So for me it confirms the theory of you either get a good one or a bad one out of the box. I would bring it in for service or return and get another one. Hope this helps and I'm pretty sure you not alone on this one.

Here's my 2 cents. If your the type of person to move around and find active fish then return the 8" and get the 6". Much much easier to cut holes. You can pretty much get any panfish and small walleye up a 6" hole. If you plan and cutting one hole and sitting there for the day then stay with the 8". I bought and HT tip and they claim to have a lube inside the shaft that is guarantied not to freeze up on you. It's more money than the ones I've seen at Bass pro, CT, Walmart. Those ones look the same but don't know if they have the non freezing lube inside. That can be the whole difference in price and landing a fish when it starts to run. That's it. Just get out there and start fishing!

I've had similar experience with customer service down there. I just go else where.

I would recommend one of these two units. The first one is cheap and very good. The other is a bit more pricey but is water proof great for fishing applications. Both are small and run on SD cards. If you want to go HD them you will be spending a lot more money. Also I've seen these on sale for a better price. You just have to be patient http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...est%5Fcookie=1# http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...mp;catid=23053#

Here are a few boats I like. Crestliner fishhawk, Lund predator, Lund explorer, Alumacraft dominator. They all have something I like in their layouts. I wish I could mix and match and build the perfect boat. With that being said all these boats are pretty expensive. When I look at the Legend line up I don't see the same thing as these other boats. I wish I did cause they have geat pricing on their boats and in the end I could have a lot of money vs buying the other boats. Maybe that's why their cheaper, because they don't have the same things. I don't know. Good luck with whatever boat you buy. Just make sure it has what you want and you will be happy. I think Legend has nice boats. If they didn't then they would probably be out of business. One thing like others have said. Get the max HP if you can afford it. You'll be a lot happier in the long run.

Pick up a few ice rods for like 20 bucks and if you have extra cash get a swede bore 6" ice auger and a pack of ice jigs and your fishing for around 100 bucks. That's it. Be warned though you will get hooked and end up spending about 1000 bucks to be fully rigged...lol

I sorry to hear what's happening to you. I'd be real upset if I was going to lose the storage space. I guess inquire to see if they can compensate you. If not make due with what you have. What else you gonna do. It's a shame. What model boat did you buy? Fish hawk? Hasn't it been around for some time now. What made them just figure out that it's not safe? You'd think they would know this before they put the boat into production. Again sorry to hear. What a shame.

to bad it's going to cost you to get it fixed. You would think it would be covered on the warranty. I guess only for the first year. It is a part that wares out so you probably won't need to get it done again for a long time. Does seem strange that with so little hours on the motor it would be worn. Did you talk to the dealer and ask why this would happen so soon. I would talk to them. See if they can give you a break casue you bought a boat and motor off them. That is if you bought it off them. I feel for you having to dish out more cash. Ah the joys of a boat.

I'm going to say Jiffy also.

I've seen can's of WD 40 with the red tube attached to the can. You just flip it up like a hinge and your good to go. You can't lose it cause it's attached. Also I would just use and elastic around the can and you won't lose the tube next time.

Ha ha ha what a laugh!

if you look at yamaha web site the price of the boats look very cheap, but and it's a big but, that price is for the hull only you still have to buy a motor to go with it. So first look at the price seems very cheap. Don't get fooled Yamaha boats cost just as much as other boats out there. Very nice boat, I want one!

your better catch lots of fish with that boat. I keep telling the wife one day like soon..lol She laughs and says I can't cause I keep chaning my mind. Bass boat, walleye boat, no fiberglass no aluminum, bass boat, back to walleye. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

october and most of november has been good for pike. Lots of ways to catch them. This is the first year in a long time that I've seen good size pike come out from there.
-
tons of free parking all over the harbour. Short walk and you can fish many places. Right now you won't catch any panfish. You might get some perch behind the discovery centre. It's deep there 30+ feet. So use a bit heavier jig or it will take forever to reach bottom. I fished the harbour all summer right up till last week. Not many panfish this year. Lot's more bass and pike. Most of my goto spots were dead for panfish. Other years I remember catching lots more. I think you will have a tough time down there right now. Good luck if you give it a go.

Does everyone remember the sale Bass pro had I think it was a year or so ago. Titanium spinner baits for like 3-4 bucks regular price was like 12 bucks. Well my buddy and I went very early in the morning before they opened and when we got there there was a big line up. Doors open everyone rushes in and I didn't even get to the bin with the spinner baits and they were sold out. Like a pack of piranhas I tell you. They only had 50 units. Everyone complained and they did nothing. I learned my lesson with bass pro. Be the first in the door for the sale or call before you go if you live far away. Sorry to hear you didn't get what you wanted. I guess they lack in service like the smaller shops that care about your business.

One day I think ATV to pull the hut around!
