Bay of Quinte has great winter walleye fishing.

I've been using XXX mono for 2yrs from spiderwire and this mono is amazing. Very limp, super strong, and thin diameter vs other mono of same pound test. Check it out you will love it.

I connected at the dam with in-line spinners. Seems people don't use them much from what I see, but I caught 5 bass at the dam with a mepps.

nice fish thanks for sharing your report

ya works like a dream. If you do something along the same lines I would advise you to get a long shaft for the trolling motor. I believe mine is 45" long. This way it will be in the water when the waves start bobbing the bow up and down.

thanks I'll give it a try and see what happens. I'll let you know. Thanks for the fuse tip.

I was just down there fishing the same stretch of river you talking about and same as you, I tried the reeds and a few docks with no success. Like rich says I don't think there is a very big population for largies down there.

I picked up a legend pro sport 14' and have a 15hp motor on it. Bought it this year and I'm very happy with it so far. The 15hp will push 2 people 21mph. If you have the money go for the 20hp if you can. This will give you much better boat planing with a heavy load. Trust me two guys, tackle, food, tank of gas, battery, trolling motor it all ads up fast, and you'll wish you had more power. The flip side is that you will probably not be able to move the 20hp motor off the boat if you had to alone, that's where the 15hp shines. More power than 9.9 but light enought to take off when you go to a conservation areas that won't allow gas motors. Why lug the extra weight. I made a plate up front for the boat so I could use a trolling motor up front and still have the gas motor on the back with no problems. I picked mine up for last years price so I got lucky and saved like 900 bucks. But it's worth the price for what you get. I also have a onboard live well. Which is great.

Hamilton bay has tons of spots to fish from shore. You have the channel along bay front both sides. You have the desjardins cannal. You have the wall behind the discovery center, all along wiliams coffee pub and cop shop area. Any place along hidden valley. Also LaSalle park off water down road. Any of the boat docks or points and cuts along the bay. They all produce fish of various species. You just have to know what you want to catch and use the right bait. Good luck.

Hi guys I have an eagle portable fishfinder and it runs on 8 AA batteries. Was wondering what to do to convert it to run on my 12v boat battery. Do I have to buy a wire harness? Any ideas thanks.

near the dam and towards the center of the lake is deep. There are some flats with deep pools also. The map is not very good. Ask to take a look at it when you drive in and then decide if you want to buy it. I forget what they sell if for but it should only be worth 5 bucks at the most i think they want like 15 of 20 anyway I don't think it's worth it.

ok thanks guys. I've heard a few guys saying to just fog into the spark plug holes. Don't bother to fog into the carb. If this is the case then I should have no problems. Ok see you guys

Where do you leave it in the winter?

Hi guys I know this question should be directed at the end of the season, but it's been on my mind. I have a 2007 yamaha 15hp four stroke. I took it in last year for winterizing. It cost me 150 when all said and done. I'm handy and wand to do it myself. With reguards to fogging. I know your suppose to spray oil in the air intake to the carb. Now on my motor I see the air intake and it has a screen. Do I just shoot the spray through the screen ect. ect. or do I have to remove that screen. If I do, it does not seem like it's going to be easy, and I don't want to screw anything up. Also is there a filter for the air intake. I can't really see past the screen, and doesn't look like there is. Thanks for you help. I'm also thinking of emailing yamaha with the question. I don't want to void any warranties. Thanks again guys.

the rapala R-type look like nice rods. I have compre and they are nice. Can't go wrong with them.

I guess check to see if the cable is broken under the foot pad.

if it's a round baitcaster it should hold more than 150yrs. I would get a 12lbs mono backing say 100yrs worth and then the last 150 with the power pro. You don't want to over spool your reel it will just cause problems. I would leave about 1/8 th to 1/16 of space before the top of the spool.

I bought a lowrance expedition c. It has a nice big screen and it's colour. If you have the money spend the extra and get colour. I got a good deal on mine from bass pro. A few friends I know all use lowrance and the map chips are all compatable that's why I went that route. If you go garman you have to buy a garman chip. If you have gps on a boat or plan on getting one the unit on the boat would have to be garman for the chip to be compatable. If this is not the case then I don't think it really matters. Sounds like the garman will be a nice unit. I'm happy with mine works good no problems, and I've used it while ice fishing and the cold does not affect it.

Hey guys I'm looking into buying some cleats for my 14' boat. I'm going to be using the cleats to anchor at times. Has anyone used the nylon cleats? How bout the aluminum ones. I wanted to buy stainless steel but cannot find a narrow enough base to fit on my gunwale. I would like to know who's used different ones and did they last it terms of strenght or did they break while anchored under a load? Thanks

I have it in 20lbs and after a season of using it I'm not happy with it. I have a shimano chronarch and find that while using fire line crystal my casting distance has been reduced. I use it for pitching and found it did not perform well with this application. I've switched to power pro and will see how it works this season. Final vote x'na on the fire crystal eh! Now on the flip side I use fire line crystal ice for ice fishing 4lbs test and love the stuff. Go figure?

Ok you find out what he likes to do and you do that. This is not rocket science. Lets see what do guys like to do. Golf, fish, go cart, casino, play hockey, football, eat food, drink beer, hang out with friends...ahhhhhhh what else am I missing. Oh and lets respect the fiances wishes " no peelers" you can go shoot some pool too. Or go sky diving ya that's it. Ok good luck.

Advice needed for my first boating season..
ld17 replied to digitalkreation's topic in General Discussion
I would get and anchor, seems like you have everything else. Just get some lights. -
go compre I have two and they are great. I have both in MH power. Which is great for pike and bass. You may want a M power if you fish for walleye more. The line depends on what your fishing, where your fishing, which type you use- braid, mono, fruoro? Hard to say which line. For bass and pike I would go with 15-20lbs braid. If walleye you may want Fluoro in say 8-10lb test. Hope this gives you some direction.

With so much catch and release going on. I'm a bit disappointed that he kept that fish to mount. Oh well.
