Great thread Lew. Here's a picture of my Dad with my two Grandfathers. My Dad was offered a piece of property on the Trent for the boat in the late 40's and turned it down. Don't know what happened to the boat, but I'm sure the land is still there.................dang!! Here's a picture of my GrandDad. Obviously knew how to fish. I remember him, but never fished with him.

Definitely my Dad. He died in 1952 when I was 2, but he has still had a profound affect on my life. The other would probably be My Uncle Tom who was his fishing buddy and created a mystique about fishing. He's also been gone for years. I still get to fish with my brother and two boys which is very cool.

I have a minn kota with the universal sonar (and autopilot) which both work extremely well. The only drawback I have is that the unit I am using has sidescan capability which I can't take advantage of with the universal sonar. Other than that, it is great.

That sucks Rich. Some people are unbelievable. When my first Grand Daughter was born (2 Lb. 7 oz.), she spent the first couple of weeks in the Neo Natal Intensive care unit. Some bugger stole my wallet from my coat in the waiting room while I was in visiting my Grand Daughter. Some real low life scumbags in this world.

Thanks for the summary Gerritt. I just got in the door to see Bower, Keon and Armstrong come out. Actually I thought that there would have been a longer ovation. But then again a lot of people don't remember the glory days (I was 17) and also probably all the Executives in the lower bowl probably hadn't shown up yet. The price you pay for having a "Corporate" team where the regular fan can't afford to go.

Spent $8.00 at Fishing World on a Chatter Bait to replace the one I lost last year.... and of course one of their beauty hats for $2.99. Had the pleasure of talking to Lew, Deg and Ruth for a bit. Saw Pikeie fly by. Saw a few of my BPS buddies. Had a good chat with Dave Mercer, a real CLASS act. Stopped at the Memquisit booth to give them our deposit for the our fall trip to Nipissing and had a good chat with them I really don't expect to get spectacular deals, I just really enjoy chatting it up with people, doing some fact finding (this year was investigating new motors) and a night out with the guys. Starts to get the blood flowing again. Only a little more than 120 days till Lakair!

Hopefully you won't be bored silly and you'll still be there around 4:30 when I hope to get there. I'll look for your smiling face.

Glad to hear that everything went so well Dave. I must say that I've met Dave several times and found him to be one of the friendliest and informative fisherman that I've met. Good luck with the rest of the series. Its a great concept and I'm only sorry that I can't attend any of them.

Congrats Kennyman. My first boat was very similar and brought me many, many great memories. My buddy still has that boat and its still going strong 25 years later (and it was well used when I got it). Can't wait for soft water.
