  1. I'm on my 2nd Tracker (both Pro-V16s) THe first one was a '99 with a 60hp and have been very happy.
  2. Way to go Phil. I remember your buddies's boat from a post from last year. Hopefully, a good sign for a great season. Bring some of that luck to Lakair!
  3. That sort of thing happened to my son (Ned Devine) and my buddy (SoloGill) one bass opening a few years ago. Luckily, bith times we noticed water on the floor as they were docked. Both had serious leaks with their livewells. Interesting thing when I was getting the review of my new boat at BPS, we got to talking about winterizing and Jill, the lady dong the overview mentioned how they winterize the motor AND the livewell. hmmmmm, I made a mental note of that. Makes a ton of sense, but I never really thought of it before. You winterize the plumbing of a trailer when you store it, why wouldn't you also winterize the plunbing of your boat! Glad to hear things worked out okay Cliff.
  4. Nice report and excellent information. Much appreciated.
  5. Way to go Don. You did better than us. "SKUNKO" Funny that Carp didn't mention that We counted 42 boats around Jordan Harbour and never saw a fish. Saw Steve from Hamilton and even he got skunked. Not one fish entered for our Toonie Tourney. Was great to be out though and had a great day enjoying Carp's company.
  6. Will be heading out with Carp tomorrow. Thanks for all the info FD.
  7. Way to go Dax. Hopefully, Carpand I can duplicate that tomorrow!
  8. My boys aren't available to fish this weekend in our Toonie Tourney opener this Sunday, so I've got a spot in my boat. Hardly have a clue what I'm doing, but should be a good day anyway. We launch at 6:00 am and are off the water by noon. Looking to put the first fish into the new boat! PM me if you're interested. I work at BPS tomorrow, so if I haven't heard by morning I will have to contact you tomorrow night.
  9. As many of you know, our first Toonie Tournament is this Sunday at Jordan Harbour. Despite getting out last year with Steve from Hamilton and Jello for a couple of great outings, at my age, I've only remembered a fraction of all the great stuff they showed me. I'd appreciate some help if somebody has the time. Here's my questions: I've been slowly accumulating Salmon equipment over the last couple of years. I currently have 3 TDR rods, a 9'6" MH, a 9' MH, and an 8' ML. I am using a Shimano Tekota 600 LC (new, no line on it at the moment), a Daiwa Accudepth 47LC with 30# mono, an Ambassadeur 6500C4 with 50# PP (Musky Reel), and an Ambassadeur 6500C3 with 30# Mono. I plan to flatline two rods and run the other two off planer boards on Sunday. I will probably be using dipseys in the next few weeks, plus I bought an electric Big Jon at a garage Sale a couple of years ago and will run a couple of rods off it later on. I plan on buying another TDR at BPS tomorrow. What should I buy? What line should I put on my Tekota? What lines should I ultimately put on my other reels? I have a good selection of Smithwicks and Reef Runners and thought I would use those on Sunday. What colours work best this time of year? Finally, what speed should I be running? How much line should I let out? Thanks in advance guys. Its very much appreciated.
  10. With the first CTTS tournament scheduled for this Sunday out of Jordan Harbour, I thought it might be a good time to post a little summary of last year's Tournies. CTTS 2006 If you're interested in coming out drop me a line. Our website is still undergoing a makeover, but most links are working. CTTS - Canadian Toonie Tournament Series Hope to see some of you out.
  11. Take care buddy. Here's to a speedy recovery.
  12. Definitely sad news.
  13. Hope its not on dial up like the rest of your systems
  14. Beauty shots Lew. I have a heck of a time getting up early (unless its for fishing). I hope to be able to do it more often once I'm retired and enjoy a siesta in the afternoon. You are definitely right about it being the best part of the day.
  15. Way to go gang! I can only imagine the havoc you created at BPS charging around the store
  16. GCD, I believe you checked off "I would drive from Alabama to atttend" and now you have the nerve to ask for a ride!! I was wondering if you would reply. It answers my question of whether you read every single thread How about this, you start walking now and we'll rendezvous at Lakair in June!!
